Live entertainment on a Friday night, delicious barbecue (our party tried chicken, sausage, and brisket). The only problem was their ordering procedure. First time visitors will be confused. Several places to take orders on the line. They don't call or motion to you. read more

Sliced brisket with pinto beans and potato salad is what we ate. All food especially the brisket was excellent. Staff friendly prices good and facility clean we will be back. read more

Went there on a Saturday night with my wife. We were a little early (5:30) but was suspicious when there were no other customers. Should have turned around. The place was kind of creepy. Lots of taxidermy and the toughest brisket I have ever encountered. Bland sauce and served on the thinest styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. We won't be back. read more

The best Brisket in Texas. The Ribs are some of the best, very meaty. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

Midway was much better when they were by the store. In the new restaurant and the food went down hill. They are now using gas fired smokers. These are to make where less wood is used and the meat does not dry out, however for some reason the meet at midway has an after taste. Many restaurant use the smoke pits and have no problems so it is not the equipment. Being raised in Katy it is hard for me to down someone that been there most of my life, however I have had a lot better and will go back every so often in hope that they will get things right read more

All the food is DELICIOUS!!! Sausage is a must have with extra sauce!!! Great BBQ everytime.

I just happened in to his place , was not sure what to expedt. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich, that will tell tell the story of any BBQ joint. Wow ! I hit the jackpot !! I was in town for for two weeks and ate there at least 6 times great food , great people , I normally do not review resturants , but had to on this one ....................... omar alvarez, Burley,Idaho formerly from Kingsville,Texas read more

I've been coming to Midway since it was in its old location. I love the food, and Mr. Myers is amazing. My one complaint is the woman in the front Debra. Something needs to be done about her customer service. I was with a party yesterday for a funeral and I couldn't be more disgusted with the way this woman worked. Briana was running around like a mad woman with a 100+ party and did an amazing job. Every single time I come in, this woman has an attitude. She needs to be retrained or let go. But yesterday I saw something very disturbing. The mother of the deceased man came in to ask for something because Briana was busy taking care of 120 people and Debra yelled for Briana and completely disrespected the mother. Money was spent yesterday and if it was my choice, I wouldn't bring my business back. I love midway, but something needs to be done with the CASHIER in the front. read more

There are WAY too many decent to good BBQ places in the area to spend time and money here. Ribs were relatively flavorless, brisket dry and also lacking flavor. Food not served hot. read more

Very disappointed, never given such a low rating. We have sponsored multiple bbq cookoff teams over the past 20 years or so and grew up on Texas bbq. Absolutely the worst bbq either my husband or I can ever remember having. I had the loaded baked potato with chopped beef. Potato was good size, not giant, not small, but the chopped beef was absolutely disgusting - it is certainly NOT chopped beef, the texture is slop - I think I know where all their fat and gristle trimmings go and the flavor was just off. My husband had the two meat plate - chicken thigh and sausage. The chicken was dry (hard to do with dark meat chicken). Sausage was ok - just not much flavor other than pepper. Sides were cole slaw (okay) and dirty rice was very poorly seasoned and lumpy. This meal did not sit well either. read more

I can't believe I haven't already reviewed this place. I've been getting BBQ at this place for years -- by far, I think it's the best in the area. On big summer holidays, I pick up the Original Meal Deal so that everyone can have their pick of brisket, spare ribs, and sausage plus sides. The brisket is really good and the spare ribs are too, but the sausage is what everyone remarks on because it is outstanding! read more

First visit in almost ten years and I have to say it was very disappointing. I am not a food or BBQ snob but I have been to enough of the famous BBQ outfits to be able to recognize quality. Their smokers are out front and the smoke smelled great walking in the door. But that was the best part. The inside of the restaurant is great with all the big mounted trophy animals. Stepping up to the counter we were helped by two guys one of which didn't speak English so trying to communicate my choices of side dishes was a pain. Speaking of side dishes, they don't list them all on the overhead menu and they are all HIDDEN on the serving line behind containers so I had NO IDEA what they were and had to lean over the counter to try and see. Then the guy gave me the wrong item anyway because he no comprende what I said. More points off. Dr Pepper in the soda fountain was flat. Meat was cold, bland and not much, if any, smoke taste or flavor. Side dishes were not that great. Seemed like Sysco products. Overall, the BBQ was nothing special but all the new out of state and foreign transplants probably love it. I probably won't be going back. read more

Good brisket and ribs. There was live music tonight and the crowd was lively. We got there just before the dinner crowd showed up and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend Midway BBQ in Katy! read more

Great place. Love their sausage! And they provide enough that I took some leftovers home and had for great breakfast the next day. Extra yum. BBQ sauce was good. Friend had the chopped beef on a potato and he loved it. Their pinto beans were awesome, but I love beans. Get excited when done right. I will be going back. read more

Great food and welcoming environment but not family friendly-no changing table in men's restroom. Sliced beef sandwich and chicken fried pork chop were delicious and okra and green beans. Coleslaw was missing something...overall good. I also got help on my way out with packing my food since we had two little ones. read more

Let me start off by saying I am or I WAS a California native, my family and I have lived here 7 years and this is hands down one of our favorite family places. I came here the morning after my wedding with all my California family so that I could show them a "Real Texas place". Like always they were not disappointed. I came in here tonight and saw that they started selling shiner sea salt and lime, I was so excited to finally be able to try it and with my yummy bbq! They didn't have any chilled so I told the gentleman who I think was the manager that it was okay I'll try it another time. He then said "no here let me chill one for you and I'll bring it out!" WAIT REALLY?!? And that's what he did! He even paid for it for me since i hadn't had it yet. Shiner is my go to beer and I was so exited to try the new one and by someone else's hand. If you want amazing service, fantastic food, and quality time, go to Midway! This place is where it's at! read more

New hours - Midway is now open past 8pm on weekend nights. WOOT!

They make great chopped beef sandwiches! The place is nice and clean.

Midway has the best BBQ in Katy! They have a unique animal decor. The place is clean (clean restrooms too) and relaxed atmosphere! We love this place and the food too. It's conveniently located on hwy 90. read more

When it comes to great Texas barbecue and impeccable customer service, look no further than Midway Bar-B-Que. Owner Michelle Simpson goes the extra mile to take care of her customers and potential vendors. I would recommend everyone give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

I have been to Houston several times since February for treatment at MD Anderson. As you can imagine this doesn't leave you full of pep or joy, but I wanted to get away from the bustle of the city and eat in a place that was quiet with my wife and mother. THIS IS THE PLACE! The staff were friendly and helpful. The owner's granddaughter was our server and she was as friendly as could be, would not let us leave without trying the sausage which along with the brisket were amazing. Then she brought over her grandfather who is a very humble man, and great host. The food was great, but the family and people working there made a tough day great. I will always visit Midway Bar-B-Que when I'm in Houston. read more

Nothing special about this place. The food isn't good. We found it to be very bland. They mailed me a free meal card and I won't even return for a free meal. read more

Unimpressed with the ribs and the barbecue sauce. The ribs have no smoke flavor and taste like they were thrown in a crock pot. The sauce is a vinegar and mustard flavor. There are much better places in Houston. The live music was nice and the brisket was good and tender. read more

Good BBQ, good service, clean restaurant (unusual for a bbq joint), and live music on weekend nights. Great family place.

Had the pork ribs, potato salad, cole slaw and banana pudding - all great. If you're anywhere near Katy, I can vouch for the above off the menu. read more

Very good ribs. Brisket was a little dry. Coleslaw and baked beans were average but okay. Prices are fair and if you watch for the specials, you can eat very cheaply. BYOB. I'd go back again. read more

For the area it's solid bbq, and I think they do bridket better than most and especially better than Rudys. It's old school Katy favorite with a newer location down from the old one I went to years ago. I recommend they brisket, ribs and chicken. read more

We love going to Midway for BBQ. My husband used to drive all the way into Houston for BBQ at Goode Company but since finding Midway, he likes it even better ! Since we live in the Katy area, it's a great location for getting some really yummy BBQ without having to cook it yourself. read more

Food is excellent here. The ladies that work there are very friendly. The young guys that work there are very rude and arrogant. But the food is so good we still get food there. read more

Delicious. Husband was wanting some BBQ for lunch on our way to Houston. We both had brisket sandwich combo with BBQ beans and coleslaw and drinks. Price was reasonable. Food was delicious. Will definitely try it again and recommend to everyone. read more

Don't waste your time or money here. Pork was ok, beans are just warmed up pork and beans. Slaw is fair but French fries are , well just throw them out. We paid $28.00 for 2 pork plates. Left hungry and very disappointed. Also had a hard time explaining our order. English was not understood. Never again. read more

The guys there are very pushy. I was standing in line looking at the menu and the guys behind the counter kept calling me over there to order. The old guy at the cash register is very rude, dont know what his problem is. Food is ok, but i wont go back there just because of that rude old man and the pushy staff. read more

Don't waste your time. The food is below par, high priced....and the "help" there is incompetent.

I lived in katy for 35 years so I' have been to Midway before when the bbq was next to the store but this is my last time. I ordered a 2 meat plate to share with my husband got it home there was one rib and 5 silces of beef for 13.95 with 2 sides. Those prices are just to high for that that much food. I can't even say how it tasted because I was so mad my husband have it for his dinner. So no thanks to Midway bbq. I try another place for my bbq fix. read more

I was really disappointed in the barbecue beef sandwich. The meat had no smoke flavor and sauce had to be added to even get a hint of smoke. Should be called a roast beef sandwich , no barbecue. read more

I love Midway BBQ! I love the decor, I love the staff, but mostly, I love the food. The only thing that I don't like is that they don't serve beer (I think due to their proximity to the church). A little buzz is the only thing that could make the Midway experience better. :) read more

My favorite BBQ in Katy ...love the animal mounts on the wall and the staff. They have a room you can reserve at no cost for larger groups (if open for the time/date you desire). My only caution is the chicken gets a bit dry by late evening and not at a good eating temp (I like me warmer than served) Their BBQ is the very best at lunch as it is just off the smoker and at its hottest. read more

Had my rehearsal dinner here a couple years ago and it was great. Since then, every time I have been to just eat, the service has been horrific. Twice now (several weeks in between) I have called ahead to pick up food and both times have been very disappointed with the service. I called ahead 15 minutes for a very easy meal for my husband and I of a sausage plate and chopped beef sandwich. Got to the store to be told that they are out of sausage and waited 15 minutes for it to be cooked (what kind of BBQ place runs out of sausage). When I inquired how much longer she sent someone to check and they said ten more minutes. I made a simple comment about how I had called ahead to avoid having to wait and was met with attitude about how a customer had called AFTER ME and ordered 10 lbs of sausage and they had to fill that order. When I asked why someone after my order got filled before mine, she quickly retracted her statement and said oh I'm sorry I meant right before your order. Hmmm either way, this is the second time for similar situations of call aheads and been given attitude instead of good customer service to fix it. :/ Did I mention, I never got the sausage. It was taking so long I changed my order to a chopped beef sandwich and when I received my order, it was a giant blob of chopped beef, not in a sandwich and not given buns to make it into a sandwich. Got more attitude when I asked for bread to make it into a sandwich. read more
