Stopped in for lunch and tried the brisket, sausage and chopped beef with a side of pork rinds and beans. The brisket was okay but oddly enough I preferred the sausage. I liked the texture of the chopped beef but it was a little too sweet for me. The pork rinds were fried to perfection with a nice airy crunch.

2 Meat Combo

Was in the mood for a bbq baked potato and decided to stop by Midway. I got a 2 meat potato with brisket and pulled pork. I asked for everything on it, but the meat kinda overpowered the other toppings. I would recommend getting an extra side of sour cream, cheese, and chives like I did. The potato came with a bbq sauce which I wasn't a fan of really, the bbq sauce smells and tastes like marinara sauce. The pulled pork and brisket were a good combo for the potato, both very tasty. My sister got the 2 meat plate with ribs and chicken. The chicken was good but a bit dry. The ribs were good as well as the mac and cheese and fries. Our favorite part of the meal was the homemade cheesecake! It was delicious, we loved the graham cracker crust. This is a pretty solid bbq joint here in Katy. I would come back for a baked potato

BLTA Potato

Oooo they upped their game. I had a new item called the BLTA for lunch today and it was delicious. Super fresh and yummy. Hope it is a permanent addition. The place is large with enough tables for everyone. Service was good and the food came out fast. Delicious and a good experience.

$26 of food. Mac & cheese disgusting.

How people pay hard earned money at this place is beyond comprehension. The chicken was dry...the turkey had so much pepper on it - it was inedible... And the mac & cheese, which I think came from a can, wasn't even hot. When I asked for them to heat it up... They took it, completely forgot about it and brought it back to me about 12 minutes later. Barely warm. $26 for this!!? Tables weren't cleaned off. There was no lemon. I think this place must've changed hands in the last year or so because there is no way this can be the infamous midway barbecue of Katy, Texas.

Half chicken special! Allway perfect!

The service is great here, and the food is above the rest, top-notch, & daily specials! Where else can you go and get half a chicken, one side, and a drink for 12 bucks? This place has a great ambiance as well. Their baked potatoes... I challenge you to finish one! Can't go wrong at Midway!

Looks good.

We went to a pumpkin patch with our little bit and we were hungry. Came across this BBQ restaurant and stopped. The menu was huge and in I mean, I would read it very well! I only wanted a quarter pound of thinly sliced turkey and a person creamed corn. The turkey was good, but not thinly sliced. The corn was delicious. Like home-cooked. Hubs had fried Catfish and Coleslaw. The Catfish was good per hubs and the Coleslaw too. The service is counterstrike to order, but bring it to you at the table. The ambiance like a hunting lodge. The stuffed dead animal were everywhere. Our little bit was ok after we explained they weren't only to "get" her. The place is busy, but itBBQ. only ok BBQ. Corn was great.

Good BBQ, good service, clean restaurant (unusual for a bbq joint), and live music on weekend nights. Great family place.

Don't waste your time. The food is below par, high priced....and the "help" there is incompetent.

My husband had oxtails, collard greens, dressing. You can't go wrong, no matter what you order. The lemonade is made just right. It is definitely made from scratch. Pure Soul on a Plate…read more This is real soul food done right. Every plate that hit the table looked like it came straight out of someone's Sunday kitchen--and tasted even better. The golden fried fish was perfectly seasoned with that crispy, cornmeal crunch on the outside and juicy, tender meat on the inside. No grease, no shortcuts--just flawless frying. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and unapologetically cheesy, with a homemade texture that lets you know this wasn't scooped from a box. The candied yams were soft, sweet, and spiced just right, with that deep, slow-cooked flavor you can only get from patience and tradition. And the collard greens & cabbage blend? Absolutely phenomenal. Cooked down beautifully, full of flavor, and balanced--savory, comforting, and satisfying without being heavy. Even the hushpuppies were standout: crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned all the way through. Beyond the food, you can feel the history and love behind every dish. This is the kind of place where recipes matter, portions are generous, and the goal is to feed your soul--not just your stomach. If you're looking for authentic Southern soul food that tastes like it was made with care and legacy, this spot is a must-visit. I'll absolutely be back.

What a great dining experience! This was my first time here. I was heading into heavy rush-hour…read moretraffic, so I decided to avoid it and stop to have a good meal before heading home. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Overall, this was a really great dining experience and I'm so glad that bad traffic gave me the excuse to come here. Will definitely plan a return visit!!
