I've been coming to Midway since it was in its old location. I love the food, and Mr. Myers is amazing. My one complaint is the woman in the front Debra. Something needs to be done about her customer service. I was with a party yesterday for a funeral and I couldn't be more disgusted with the way this woman worked. Briana was running around like a mad woman with a 100+ party and did an amazing job. Every single time I come in, this woman has an attitude. She needs to be retrained or let go. But yesterday I saw something very disturbing. The mother of the deceased man came in to ask for something because Briana was busy taking care of 120 people and Debra yelled for Briana and completely disrespected the mother. Money was spent yesterday and if it was my choice, I wouldn't bring my business back. I love midway, but something needs to be done with the CASHIER in the front. read more

There are WAY too many decent to good BBQ places in the area to spend time and money here. Ribs were relatively flavorless, brisket dry and also lacking flavor. Food not served hot. read more

I can't believe I haven't already reviewed this place. I've been getting BBQ at this place for years -- by far, I think it's the best in the area. On big summer holidays, I pick up the Original Meal Deal so that everyone can have their pick of brisket, spare ribs, and sausage plus sides. The brisket is really good and the spare ribs are too, but the sausage is what everyone remarks on because it is outstanding! read more

Great place. Love their sausage! And they provide enough that I took some leftovers home and had for great breakfast the next day. Extra yum. BBQ sauce was good. Great food and welcoming environment but not family friendly-no changing table in men's restroom. Sliced beef sandwich and chicken fried pork chop were delicious and okra and green beans. Let me start off by saying I am or I WAS a California native, my family and I have lived here 7 years and this is hands down one of our favorite family places. I came here the morning after my wedding with all my California family so that I could show them a "Real Texas place". Like always they were not disappointed. I came in here tonight and saw that they started selling shiner sea salt and lime, I was so excited to finally be able to try it and with my yummy bbq! They didn't have any chilled so I told the gentleman who I think was the manager that it was okay I'll try it another time. He then said "no here let me chill one for you and I'll bring it out!" WAIT REALLY?!? And that's what he did! He even paid for it for me since i hadn't had it yet. Shiner is my go to beer and I was so exited to try the new one and by someone else's hand. First visit in almost ten years and I have to say it was very disappointing. I am not a food or BBQ snob but I have been to enough of the famous BBQ outfits to be able to recognize quality. Their smokers are out front and the smoke smelled great walking in the door. But that was the best part. The inside of the restaurant is great with all the big mounted trophy animals. Stepping up to the counter we were helped by two guys one of which didn't speak English so trying to communicate my choices of side dishes was a pain. Speaking of side dishes, they don't list them all on the overhead menu and they are all HIDDEN on the serving line behind containers so I had NO IDEA what they were and had to lean over the counter to try and see. Then the guy gave me the wrong item anyway because he no comprende what I said. More points off. Dr Pepper in the soda fountain was flat. Meat was cold, bland and not much, if any, smoke taste or flavor. Side dishes were not that great. Seemed like Sysco products. Overall, the BBQ was nothing special but all the new out of state and foreign transplants probably love it. I probably won't be going back. read more

I have been to Houston several times since February for treatment at MD Anderson. As you can imagine this doesn't leave you full of pep or joy, but I wanted to get away from the bustle of the city and eat in a place that was quiet with my wife and mother. THIS IS THE PLACE! The staff were friendly and helpful. The owner's granddaughter was our server and she was as friendly as could be, would not let us leave without trying the sausage which along with the brisket were amazing. Then she brought over her grandfather who is a very humble man, and great host. The food was great, but the family and people working there made a tough day great. Don't waste your time or money here. Pork was ok, beans are just warmed up pork and beans. Slaw is fair but French fries are , well just throw them out. We paid $28.00 for 2 pork plates. Left hungry and very disappointed. Also had a hard time explaining our order. English was not understood. Never again. read more

Unimpressed with the ribs and the barbecue sauce. The ribs have no smoke flavor and taste like they were thrown in a crock pot. The sauce is a vinegar and mustard flavor. There are much better places in Houston. The live music was nice and the brisket was good and tender. read more

For the area it's solid bbq, and I think they do bridket better than most and especially better than Rudys. It's old school Katy favorite with a newer location down from the old one I went to years ago. I recommend they brisket, ribs and chicken. read more

We love going to Midway for BBQ. My husband used to drive all the way into Houston for BBQ at Goode Company but since finding Midway, he likes it even better ! Since we live in the Katy area, it's a great location for getting some really yummy BBQ without having to cook it yourself. read more

The guys there are very pushy. I was standing in line looking at the menu and the guys behind the counter kept calling me over there to order. I lived in katy for 35 years so I' have been to Midway before when the bbq was next to the store but this is my last time. I ordered a 2 meat plate to share with my husband got it home there was one rib and 5 silces of beef for 13.95 with 2 sides. Those prices are just to high for that that much food. I can't even say how it tasted because I was so mad my husband have it for his dinner. So no thanks to Midway bbq. I try another place for my bbq fix. read more

I was really disappointed in the barbecue beef sandwich. The meat had no smoke flavor and sauce had to be added to even get a hint of smoke. Should be called a roast beef sandwich , no barbecue. read more

I love Midway BBQ! I love the decor, I love the staff, but mostly, I love the food. The only thing that I don't like is that they don't serve beer (I think due to their proximity to the church). A little buzz is the only thing that could make the Midway experience better. :) read more

My favorite BBQ in Katy ...love the animal mounts on the wall and the staff. They have a room you can reserve at no cost for larger groups (if open for the time/date you desire). My only caution is the chicken gets a bit dry by late evening and not at a good eating temp (I like me warmer than served) Their BBQ is the very best at lunch as it is just off the smoker and at its hottest. read more

Had my rehearsal dinner here a couple years ago and it was great. Since then, every time I have been to just eat, the service has been horrific. Twice now (several weeks in between) I have called ahead to pick up food and both times have been very disappointed with the service. I called ahead 15 minutes for a very easy meal for my husband and I of a sausage plate and chopped beef sandwich. Got to the store to be told that they are out of sausage and waited 15 minutes for it to be cooked (what kind of BBQ place runs out of sausage). When I inquired how much longer she sent someone to check and they said ten more minutes. I made a simple comment about how I had called ahead to avoid having to wait and was met with attitude about how a customer had called AFTER ME and ordered 10 lbs of sausage and they had to fill that order. When I asked why someone after my order got filled before mine, she quickly retracted her statement and said oh I'm sorry I meant right before your order. Hmmm either way, this is the second time for similar situations of call aheads and been given attitude instead of good customer service to fix it. :/ Did I mention, I never got the sausage. It was taking so long I changed my order to a chopped beef sandwich and when I received my order, it was a giant blob of chopped beef, not in a sandwich and not given buns to make it into a sandwich. Got more attitude when I asked for bread to make it into a sandwich. read more
