The pharmacy/ lunch counter is a great place for great quality food, more than adequate portions, and very reasonable prices. They serve a a variety of breakfast and lunch or early dinner items 6 days of the week. Very clean and food prep is right in front of you so you know exactly what you're getting. I was looking for a good hole in the wall but I found something better!!! A little diner inside of a pharmacy!!! This is giving me back in the day Woolworth's vibe!!! The food is good and the price even better!! They have a small seating section to enjoy your food. They also do take out. The service is decent as they bring your food out to you when it's done. Still a very good deal for the fresh cooked meal right in Midlothian village. A nice place to meet and see local regulars. I love it here. Through these doors is like opening a portal to the past. This is a truly old fashioned pharmacy, complete with a retro soda fountain. Back in the day, most drug stores had a little diner attached. This one is has the characteristic black and white checkered tiles and the red vinyl covered swivel bar stools. There are a few tables and booths on the back. No paper menus, there's a huge board to order from - just place your order at the register. Typical diner fare, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and breakfast all day! You can see all the fixings behind the counter while the cook whips up the food on the grill! I ordered the ham and eggs with rye toast and my friend got a burger and fries. You know, it was all right... not great but what you'd expect at a soda fountain. The fries were hot! The country ham was really greasy, I sopped up the grease with a pile of napkins. The eggs would have been better if cooked in a separate pan rather than grill, but whatev. We both had to have an iconic limeade! It was refreshing and delicious and worth the calories! I was intrigued by one offering on the menu board, the olive and cream cheese sandwich which I'll try if I ever have a chance to return. The food was served on plastic plates with plastic utensils which put me off a bit. And I had to clean my own table with a handiwipe I had in my purse. The other booths were also full of crumbs. They need to pick up the pace on the tidiness. So, if you don't expect much, want to take a trip down memory lane, and just want to grab a quick bite, check it out! Or just go in for the limeades or the old fashioned Milkshakes!! While you're there, meander through the small apothecary or pick up a prescription. Place was good, it's not fancy but very homey. My husband and I went there for lunch. I ordered bologna burger and my husband ordered cheesesteak. If you ordered the combo it comes with fries and drink for 8.99, not too bad for a meal. I ate half of my bologna, and some of my fries. It's a lot of fries they gave you. I didn't get a chance to take picture of our food maybe next time I will when I remember. We plan to order next time just sandwich and a milkshake or ice cream float. I use this pharmacy for a compounded medication and have always noticed the diner but never eaten there. After my most recent visit, I won't ever eat there. I'm standing at the counter paying for my medication when I notice my toe tickling. Didn't think anything of it but looked down and the LARGEST cockroach was crawling across my foot. It was almost 2 inches long . I will not be eating here. It's the first time I've seen a love cockroach in the building but not the first time I've seen a cockroach here. I purchased an item that has a stated "100% money back guarantee" on the box; however, the store will not honor that policy. While I understand that certain items can't just be returned because you did not like the item; this is a different circumstance in which the item is actually DEFECTIVE. In this case, it is not the customers fault or a voluntary decision to return the item and the store needs to override their refund policy and contact the manufacturer of the item to assist the customer with the company honoring their stated guarantee. The owner of the pharmacy was completely dismissive and refused to even talk to me. I would be more shocked by a large chain like CVS or Walgreens being this rude, but for a small mom and pop store like this not to offer the type of personal service and care for customers you would hope and are the exact reasons you go to a store like this, I am shocked and horrified by the response. The owner should be ashamed of herself for being so impolite, rude, unkind, and unreasonable. Very disappointing. read more

Tucked away in Midlothian Village is the Apothecary. Tiny little pharmacy with a gem of a soda fountain and grill. Many of the local have been coming since they were kids with the folks. Admit that it's not a full blown soda jerk fountain, however they have great shakes, and egg creams My chocolate shake was made with chocolate ice cream and syrup and made chocolate proud. Also had a huge grilled bologna burger, the meat must have been at least 1"+ thick, add some grilled onions, lettuce and tomato and now we're talking. I enjoyed it. From what I've been told some of their most popular lunch items are the sandwich spreads. They make chicken, egg, tuna and ham fresh daily and pile it high. Nothing complicated but freshness and quality that gives it that homemade taste you grew up with it. I definitely will be returning to expand exploring some of these treats. You need to look for it, I've driven by it for years and finally took notice after a friend's advice. Give it a shot, step back in time and enjoy simple food made well. read more

Terribly inconsistent pharmacy that is causing me lots of issues!! I fill a prescription there that I can not go with out. They like to play games and change when I can fill every single month so that I can not plan anything!!!I They have caused me to have to reschedule my last vacation a few months ago and now they will cause me to not be able to go on the getaway that was planned with my husband for our 9th wedding anniversary!! Due to the issues that my wife has been facing with this pharmacy now for the second time within 5 months we will be canceling a pre planned vacation due to this pharmacy. My wife and I never get away and we planned to for our 9th wedding anniversary to leave this week but the pharmacist is refusing to fill a prescription for me until Friday even though they can fill it earlier and have several time. You absolutely HAVE to stop by here and try the greatest milkshake of all time! This place is a total throwback. When you walk in, you will feel as if you are stepping into a 1950s diner. High school and college kids work the grill, and they do a great job. They have always been super nice and helpful and I have come here for years. The food is typical diner and delicious. The real draw for me here are the milkshakes. They are LEGIT. Like, these are real, old school shakes. If you get an oreo shake, you will watch them open a package of oreos and crush them up. Craving breakfast long after breakfast is usually served, I meandered Midlothian Tnpk in search of eggs. I spotted a sign I'd passed hundreds of times but only today noticed it said 'breakfast served all day'. Perfect. What a jewel this place is. I'm mad I didn't find it sooner. Old school soda fountain with stools at the counter and booths in the back. I had a cheese omelette, toast, and hash browns. Although the browns were frozen patties they were cooked to perfection and the omelette was one of the best Ive ever had. Even the toast was good. Washed it down with a delicious limeade. Other than breakfast they serve what one would expect of fountain fare. I will be back to try the sandwich spreads, or a baloney burger, and maybe treat myself to a milkshake. Did I mention the staff is beyond friendly? They are. Nothing fancy here, just homemade food for a very reasonable price. As a pharmacy, they're great! I took a prescription and they filled it quickly, even letting me use a drug company coupon to save my co-payment. I was originally drawn in by their soda-fountain though. When I read about it, my immediate image was the memories of going with my grandma as a kid to the corner drug store and getting a burger or grilled cheese with a delicious home-made milkshake. Either my expectations have grown since I was 7 or their soda fountain needs some enhancements. Granted, I stopped in for breakfast but the expectation was just as high. What I got, sadly, was a messed up order and just fair tasting food. I know they're cramped for space and it almost seemed like the food counter was an afterthought to the layout. I don't know....they are a family-owned local business and I will ALWAYS support this type of business, even if something has to suffer. I live very far from this drug store,but my drs office is located nearby.Whenever he writes me prescriptions,I stop here to get them filled.The staff is always nice.They fill your prescription(s) in a short amount of time.If there is a discount card for any of your scripts,they make you aware&offers it to you.Who doesn't want to save money?The meds have always been in stock.I WISH they were located where I live bc I would use them as my only pharmacy.The bigger chains of businesses don't appreciate your business,like they do.Also,there are alot of small town/family owned pharmacies that do NOT measure up.IF you can use this pharmacy,it will benefit you to do so.Oh,&they have a little country food store inside.It's lke a blast from the past.The smell makes you eat..lol.Great food!!The prices are even pretty good:) read more
