Wow!! Middle Way Cafe for breakfast today!! Was going to do a simple fast food stop but decided to give them a try, and I am glad I did!! Talk about Happy Mouth Food!! I had the North Coast Omelet with organic eggs, diced reindeer sausage , added bacon, spinach caramelized onions and Swiss cheese It came with toast , they forgot to ask which type and was hidden under plate with omelet and potatoes, lol Had to ask where it was. The potatoes were perfectly flavored ,soft with a light crunch, could have been crunchier but was great I highly recommend giving them a try Oh lots of pastry options as well!! Enjoyed a Raspberry Iced mocha as well

We are vegans from LA and did not expect so many amazing options at this restaurant! People who work here are super nice and a vibe of a family owned place even though it's not small at all. Beautiful art work by a local artist and great vegan desserts!!! See pics below. Thank you for making these options for people who love animals.

Middle Way is a solid option for breakfast and lunch in Anchorage. Their food is consistent and tasty, the staff are friendly. Certainly one of my favorite breakfast places in Anchorage.

Mayflower Sandwich (GF Option Available) with sprouts. Yummmm

I've come to Middle Way for years, but never written a review. The food is phenomenal. Healthy, fresh and soooo good. Their baked goods are why I come. This cute place is always bustling, but a great place to work on your computer or grab lunch. My favorite is any of the sandwiches, with added sprouts. The carrot cake is to die for!!! The best carrot cake I've ever had! Wonderful service and attentive staff. Lots of GF options

Been a little disappointed with how things have turned out price wise and what you get for value. My little English muffin with one egg and a few pieces of bacon for $10! Doesn't even come with anything, home fries would have been another $4.50. I was very surprised that it was basically empty at 8am on a wednesday. On the weekends they used to be very popular, maybe they still are? I paid over $30 for this breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito. Meh. Also not interested in their lunch options

This is a Denver/Asheville/mountain town place. It has a great vibe and lots of food choices. The coffee and water are self serve. You order at the counter and they bring your food. Espresso options, vegan options are available. I would surely go back.

It was so confusing what we had to do in order to get our food, and it wasn't even good. I am not impressed.

Lovely large café. The middle way was an excellent place to meet someone for a lunch meeting, and has a surprisingly delicious tofu Rubén!

Can you try and have a savory bakery VEGETARIAN option? It's always so disappointing when there's bacon and chicken in everything. ?

Hi Stephanie P. I'd love to make you some savory Vegetarian Options. We are presently reworking the bakery and have introduced vegatarian quiche daily, as well as hand pies (on alternating days) and scones. You can contact me at Middleway by…

Within 20 minutes of walking in, we were seated, served coffee and water, placed our order, and received our meals. We enjoyed classic breakfast favorites--fried eggs, patty sausage, biscuits and gravy, reindeer sausage--and the lightest, fluffiest, most perfectly prepared Belgian waffle. The experience was so impressive that we returned the next day to see whether it had been a fluke; it was not. The staff was just as friendly and efficient, and while the breakfast sandwich we added was delicious, I couldn't resist ordering another heavenly waffle. I strolled by the kitchen, a couple of times, to try and look to see what magic they were performing in the background, but their secret sauce is the people who work there! So close to the airport, great staff, even better breakfasts and a must stop for breakfast on your way to or from the airport.

I'll preface this by saying that I've heard plenty of good things about Heidi's food, portions and…read morecleanliness. So I really wanted this to become a regular spot for me. Unfortunately, after trying two weekends in a row, I'm giving up. I completely understand that weekend breakfast/brunch is going to be busy. Waiting isn't the issue. The check-in and seating process is just incredibly disorganized. Both visits I put my name on the waitlist. The first time, I specifically asked if I could take one of two open seats at the bar and was told I still needed to join the waitlist. I did, but guests who arrived after me were eventually seated at the bar ahead of me. The second weekend, essentially the same thing happened again. There also doesn't seem to be a clear way to tell who is actually waiting versus who has just arrived. Meanwhile, I watched larger tables that had been pushed together for bigger parties remain together after those parties left, then get reset and used for smaller groups rather than being separated again. That's a lot of usable seating sitting unnecessarily occupied when you have a lobby full of people waiting. When I asked the host during my first visit why someone behind me on the waitlist had been given the bar seat I'd originally asked about, I received an apology but no real explanation or resolution. On the positive side, after spending plenty of time waiting on both visits, I can certainly confirm what others have said about the restaurant being clean and the portions looking generous coming out of the kitchen looke I genuinely wanted to try Heidi's, and I still think it may be worth visiting during slower hours. But after two consecutive weekend experiences with the same seating issues, the problem feels less like "they were busy today" and more like a process that needs some attention. Unfortunately, that's enough for me to stop trying for now.

Absolutely love the vibe in here, and the smattering of awesome pastries, and desserts all over-the-counter. I may only be in town for a week, but I'll probably stop by this place at least a couple more times. They seem to have a really great staff too, I could see everyone just busy and the utmost care and attention to detail going on with every pastry. You can see them bake the pastries and bread. Our first time in line, I decided to get their sausage poached egg breakfast sandwich and an Alaskan berry scone. My friend got their breakfast focaccia came with egg, cheese sausage on a focaccia. My egg sandwich was not good. I was surprised they didn't heat the sandwich. Not even sure if I had to ask? The egg wasn't that poached, the inside was just gooey and not runny, which was fine by me. Since it was not heated, the sausage patty was so cold, egg was cold, the bread bun they used was so big, too much bread, stale/hard and not proportional. It was pretty bad, not a good breakfast sandwich. Skip it. They made that up in the breakfast focaccia. The focaccia was warm, soft, and the egg and sausage was warm and just right. That's what you should get!!! We came back in line and got additional items bc they put our more. I got their fruit danish, my friend got their chocolate cupcake and an ham cheddar scone. Their danish was delicious. And their scones were very flakey and soft. Everything was great except that breakfast sandwich. Skip that and get the breakfast focaccia.
