My experience with this company without even going in has been horrible. Please read my email below to the corporate office. " Hello, As I received an email from Uber regarding a mandatory 19 point inspection with a recommendation to visit Midas location in Tustin for a free inspection, I went ahead and completed a request appoint form online as of yesterday 04/24/2014. I received an email this morning saying "UBER APPOINTMENTS ARE DONE BY PHONE CALL ONLY. PLEASE CALL 949-551-1558.". I did not turn on the CAPS Lock, it was sent that way. I called and a gentleman answered the phone. I asked for a Uber Appointment and he told me the soonest he can do is next Thursday. I politely asked him if there was an appointment available any sooner and if so I would appreciate it. What followed next surprised me. He became extremely rude and said "The first request I get in the day is someone asking free service, you uber guys dont understand that when i say there is an appointment available next thursday, i mean that". I did ask him to calm down, and he again carried on by saying that " There are 25 phone calls by you Uber Guys everyday and expecting free service and each and every one says the same thing. And He Hung Up the Telephone" Please Do Not Bother with offering me free service for anything else, I will be more than happy to even pay somewhere else who would treat a person like one. I do not need someone in a bad mood to ruin my day right from the morning because they do not know how to handle business. 25 phone calls a day to me is the best lead to anyone with a little common sense, even if it is free. Retaining even 10% of the leads to about 70+ new customers a month. I do request that someone gets back to me with an explanation. Thank You. Raj" I found out later that the person on the phone was the owner himself. He called me to discuss the matter above, I emailed him back asking to communicate via email only, I never heard back from him. I have made it clear to them as well that I am not looking for any service from them from here on. Be careful. Well, I went here even though the reviews were not favorably. It's close & I didn't have much problem with them. They were actually comparable in price when it came to replacing something in my car. I can't think of it right now & I did have a 2nd opinion. So I knew I was getting a decent price. However, on my last oil change, I also needed a breaklight replaced. They wanted to charge me $25/ tail light for labor. He said I needed both sides so that was $50 right there to change a light bulb. The bulb would cost me 9.99. So my total was like ~$65. I was like, humm, really, no thanks. There was another customer who came in while I was standing there and he sat down later. He was like, I cannot believe they are trying to charge you $25 for labor per tail light. I was like "I know right". Well, I went to Pep Boys the next day. They charged me $5.99 for the light and then the total cost me $17 to change the same light!!!! I cannot believe that!!! Needless to say, I will not be going back. Need to find a new place!! I usually don't take my car for maintenance, my hubby take it for me whenever he's free but today was optional. This is the place he always go to and said that they do a good job and the price is cheaper compare to other auto dealer. I brought the car in this morning, told the guy I needed maintenance. Asked him what special deal they're offering and how much. He just looked up my hubby account and give me the price $31.95 based on the last maintenance services. I was like huh?!?! almost got rip off, I told him that I saw a sign for an oil change and tire rotation for $19.99. Then he played dumb and said "really" and give me that price, what a croak!!! As I'm waiting here at this location I yelp and thought I would write a review. I sceduled an appointment for 3:30 for a brake inspection and arrived at 3:15.. they took my car and 2hrs of waiting they just start to inspect my car and have not yet gave me a quote for how much the brake service, parts and labor would be. 3 hours later they tell me what needs to be replaced and bam $850 total for both front and rear brake jobs! WTF!?! Who wants cough up that much money at once? Not me so I told them I can't afford that and just need to get the fronts done. And walk out spending $320... What a rip off! read more

I'm a single mom, so if anything goes wrong with my car, I immediately feel like there's a punch straight to my gut - my inexperience with cars and car problems along with the pressure of how I'm going to come up with financing the repairs as well as how I will be transporting my two young children looms very heavily on me. So when I found myself stranded last month with a horrible and completely ruined transmission, one of my brothers (who lives far away) said, "Prepare for the worse", I freaked out. He suggested I call around to Midas, Aamco, etc to find pricing for transmission work. I called around, and every shop I spoke to said the repairs would be outrageously expensive. One of the last places I called was Midas, Tustin. I spoke with Allan, who did not scoff or laugh, literally, at my description of what my problem was with my transmission. Instead, he worked with me and asked me several questions and even warned me what to look out for while I shopped around. At no time did I feel pressured, scammed or deceived. After several days of scraping up money to help with repairs (it was going to be expensive, even at the lowest quoted price) I called Allan back. Due to my lack of resources at hand, Allan really went far and beyond what most FRIENDS would do for me in time of need in order to get my car transported to his shop and back to me in working order. Not only that, he was awesome enough to give me constant updates so that I could predict how much longer I would be out of a car. Allan (owner), along with the supervisor, David, really stepped up to make me feel secure and aware of what was going on. I won't list all the personal favors I felt that Allan and his staff did for me because I'm leery there will be some rotten apples out there reading this that may take advantage of the shop and think they'll get everything for free. But just trust me, from one person to another, that this shop is top notch in repairs as much as it is in customer service. read more

I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago after receiving a discount in the mail for a $20 oil change and tire rotation. This also included a courtesy inspection of the rest of my car. I thought the services I was recieving were too good to be true and it turned out I was right. After coming back over an hour later, I looked through the courtesy inspection checklist and they noted that my horn was in working condition although it stopped working a couple months ago. I asked the guy at the counter why it was declared in working condition. He told me he would ask, and I sat there for another 5 to 10 minutes as he proceeded to place orders for parts and take other phone calls. He eventually realized that I was still waiting for my answer and reported back, "oh he circled the wrong one". Really? That's it? Something as simple as a horn test makes me think they didn't even really check my car like they were supposed to at all. What else did they miss? They suggested a replacement of one of my belts but I will definitely not be coming back to this location. read more

Went in for an Oil Change here, instead of going to my usual place all the way in Orange. David, the service writer, who greeted me and wrote up my service was extremely helpful and courteous. Was in and out fairly quick, and they even rotated my tires! The service technician that was working on my car gave me a thumbs-up on my point2point service inspection. Considerate, competent, trustworthy, and professional I know when I think about hiring people to work on my house or work on my car, the questions that I ask are: Are they considerate? Are they competent? Are they trustworthy? Are they professional? Considerate: I can drop off my car anytime without an appointment and they get to it pretty quickly. They call me with a status and provide an estimate on the cost. If I need it right away, I can call an make an appointment or let them know I need to bring it by and when I need it. They will always tell me realistic times on when my car will be ready. And it's usually done on or before the time estimate. Competent: Like everyone else, I depend on my car. I need it running and running well. When I take my car to Tustin Midas, they fix it and fix it right. Don't get me wrong, there have been some times where I had to bring it back for something minor, but other than that, when I get it back, it runs like a champ. Trustworthy: Such a strange situation when we give someone one of our biggest investments and ask them to make it right. We are so vulnerable that we want to trust someone, but so many times we hear the horror stories and it leaves us jaded and wary of anyone who tries to help. I'm not an auto repair expert, nor do I claim to be. But I've had experiences (good and bad) that help me have an idea of what kind of problem my car has and whether the diagnosis and recommended repair fit the bill. And importantly, when I feel the hair stand on the back of my neck or my gut tells me something is hinky, I usually go with my instincts. The first couple of times I brought my car to Tustin Midas, I was cautious and careful. I never had a feeling where something was sketchy or wrong. Even as I've continued with bringing my business here, I've had, for various reasons, opportunities to have my car looked at by other mechanics and shops. In every instance, the status and situation have been confirmed. Professional: The guys up front run the business. The guys in the back fix the cars. For me, this is a well run business. They say what they do and they do what they say. For all the reasons listed above, I continue to be a customer at Tustin Midas and I would recommend them to others. read more

I wish there was a "no-star" option because that is my true opinion. The one time I decide to be a bit lazy, I let your store work on my truck. I had new brakes, bearings, and seals put on all around. I drove away with a grinding noise coming from up front. I came back, and they told me it was because the brakes had to be broken in and take it easy in stopping. I entertained their suggestion knowing full-well brakes work from stop number one. No need to "break" them in. Such BS. I took it back after it kept grinding, so they replaced the brakes. Problem solved, but now my steering was going nuts, and they told me I needed an alignment. I thought it funny when I didn't need one before your service. I took it to the dealer, and they told me it was because of bad bearings. OK. I took it back to your store, they replaced the bearings, and well-well-well...my truck doesn't need an alignment anymore. Imagine that! 2-3 months after, I hear and feel more grinding, and my front goes clunk a bit. Feels like bearings again. They take a look and yes, they replace the bearings once again. I drive away, stop at a convenience store and notice my hub cover and dust cap on my front left wheel is missing. I go back, and they cannot find it, so I got them to pay for a replacement. 2-3 months later...more f'ing grinding. This shouldn't be happening. I know why. Your technicians who do the service are terrible at their job. They most likely torqued the retaining nuts that hold on the rotor to the spindle. Your technicians must be in remedial auto care school. YOU DON'T TORQUE THOSE ON!!! I gave your company plenty of chances to make it right. Your company failed. I finally did it myself, and the work was done by me on November 10. My truck is still running (over 4 months and counting) better than ever and very smooth thanx to my own work. You guys are garbage. Absolutely horrible experience. It's Christmas-time, two young daughters to get presents for and retired military and that didn't keep Marco from fleecing me for $638.78 just to replace the alternator that AAA had already determined was bad. Not being unfair, I say fleeced because I called my wife's mechanic across from her job and for the same work he quoted me $275. I then did a google search for the same repair and found the same quote for around $275. Unfortunately, AAA will not tow from shop to shop! Here in my opinion is his setup...Marco says worst case scenario this is going to cost you $638.78 but I want you to authorize (buy) and new battery for $139.99 because that might be the only problem. I say ok and then he returns with the test showing what AAA had already determined. I tell him about my concerns above and the lower quotes mentioned above. He talks about how he has kids to but he doesn't budge on the price. We both know I am screwed because by the time I pay to get the car towed elsewhere I am going to be out more money. To add insult to injury they broke my speedometer and the mechanic that worked on my car started to argue with me that it was already broken. Marco cut him off and then tried to imply that AAA broke it during towing. I reminded him that the car was delivered on a flatbed tow truck. He asked to keep the car for another day to talk to I believe the owner. I arrived today (no call again from them again), Thursday, and the car is parked. I peek inside to see the speedometer is fixed. I go inside and was happy to see Marco was not there. I asked the person at the desk if they had reassembled it and he said they disconnected it and reconnected the speedometer and it resolved the problem. Oh, and while I was waiting for an hour and a half on Tuesday while being fleeced I overheard a customer telling Marco that his flat repair was supposed to be $10. Marco shot back that flat repairs are $20 at this shop. The customer said that the manager who was there in the morning told him it was $10. The individual went outside and I guess Marco had someone call the morning manager because they yelled from the back office that the price was $10! Communication was horrible. They never called me on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. I had to drive to the shop to find out what was happening. I will never set foot in this place again. Please see attached pictures. For $139.99 the battery should be spotless. Notice the considerable about of dirty on the batter that has obviously been sitting exposed somewhere for a considerable amount of time. I made an appointment on Monday for 4:30 today Thursday April 11th 2019 for a simple "smoke test" for a evap leak issue for my Chrysler. Took off 1 hour early from work to arrive on time which I did. 1 hour later I'm still sitting there with nothing happening. I finally asked what's going on and they said "another 15-20 minutes we're a little behind" So why the appointment in the first place? Why did I have to miss an hour of work? My time is very limited. Having to wait around for an hour for a smoke test? When I asked for my keys they were ready for the test? Really? I need brakes front and back for my truck and other mechanical work on both my vehicles. This poor unacceptable experience will force my business elsewhere. I'm sure they're not gonna fold as I will not return or recommend this shop to anyone that's in need of mechanical work! I'm so freakin upset wasted my time for absolutely nothing!!! Unless you have an hour or more to waste sitting around at this shop them by all means go for it! Now I'm back to hunting around for another damn mechanic! read more

I hate going to car places as a girl because mechanics try to tell me I need a "major overload" on my car even though it is under 50,000 miles. I know I don't, but it is so frustrating when they see me as a sucker. At this Midas, EVERY single person I came in contact with treated me respectfully and courteously. They explained why, not just what. They took me into the "shop" to look at what they were telling me, and explained it to me. They offered me fair prices. They gave me coupon discounts without my coupon. It took a bit longer than I wanted, and there isn't much to do around that shop. But overall I was very pleased with these guys. There is even an award on the wall about a staff member being "female friendly". I highly recommend this place. I will go back! I got new brakes and tires. Went the extra mile to help. I needed a Catalytic converter to get thru smog. They had to do a lot of research on my car to ensure I got the proper model. Found an approved aftermarket one, after trying three or four avenues. ~$900 cheaper than the Honda dealer. Good service, good price, quick turn. Am taking my wife's car there next week. read more

I took my car in to have my brakes checked out. Alan is the general mgr. and I found him to be friendly and helpful. I had called earlier to schedule an appointment and he took my car in right away. After the brake check he told me he found that my brakes were under warranty and I'd only have to pay for labor. He's not pushy and I found him to be helpful. I'm shocked that this location doesn't have more stars!!! This literally is the be st Midas in Orange County! The team here is lead by Alan the manager of the store and he is so kind and honest. And better yet, he's worked his butt off to instill that in his employees. That's why not only is Alan awesome, but so is Russ, and everyone else there (I can't remember all their names and don't want to describe them by their race for obvious reasons! Haha). But anyways, I've come here for everything from my oil changes to major tune ups. Each time these guys are straight up with me on the price an what needs to be done. And when your car needs to be worked on over night they work with you to make sure your set on transportation. As a result I literally only will allow my cars to be serviced here. And I live in Huntington Beach. Please do yourself a favor, don't waste your time getting ripped off at other auto shops. Seriously. read more

I got my brakes changed on my car yesterday (Thursday 3:30PM), and was in and out in just about an hour. I called in advance and gave them a heads up, and let them know I was coming, which helps lower the time you'll spend waiting. I got a quote over the phone, and like any mechanic/tire/brake place, they will try to sell you extras, but they definitely didn't force anything upon me. Alan went out of his way to make sure I would be a repeat customer, and after yesterday's experience, I definitely will be. I told them exactly what repairs I wanted done, and that's what they did.
