Midas offered a quick, free diagnostic. An hour later, wheels off, they told me my brakes were very worn, so I should replace them while the wheels were off. They were not happy that I declined. What an incredible customer service experience! I brought my car in to have the brakes inspected and found that there was some grinding on my rotors. Drew walked me over to show me the brakes and explained my options with the pros and cons of both. I elected to have my brake pads and rotors changed. I went to LA fitness and returned a hour later. Drew informed me that my car required specialized brake pads and called several places to rush them over for me. He said it would likely be another 30 mins and even offered to Uber me home if I couldn't wait. Luckily I could just walk back over to the gym but mentioned my phone was going to die so he offered me a portable charger to take with me so I could workout while I waited. EXCEPTIONAL service! So in March 2020, "Mike" the general manager called apologizing for what happened and alleging that everyone at the shop has been fired. He told me he wouldn't blame me if I never went back to Midas and that he would make sure I would get a full refund by not submitting the credit card charge for the work done. Well, apparently this "Mike" is also a liar because my credit card company charged me for the bill yesterday. When I called the credit card company to ask why that was done, they said Midas disputed the charge and claimed that "Mike" offered to fix my car for free under Midas warranty but I refused! Midas sent that letter in April... after this "Mike" called me. It's unbelievable how many times this company will lie. Beyond the fact that Midas didn't find the right cause to fix the car (Nissan Poway dealership did, and AC hasn't broken down since), it appears pretty much everyone who works at Midas are bunch of liars. read more

let me just start by saying i would not let these guys change a hampster wheel, it takes quite the establishment for a tire/oil change shop to screw up a tire rotation. i own a 2018 chevy colorado zr2 iv invested almost 10 grand into it. one look and you can tell only top notch shops have worked on it. anyhow to get to the point i had them change oil and rotate my tires. in the process of pulling off my tires they snapped a lug nut stud. the so called mechanic showed me, pointed out his screw gun was not that powerful. i didnt say much just assumed they would fix it. when i picked it up after the work had been performed nothing had been said or brought to my attention. i went through an entire day of driving and when i got home that night i heard a horrific noise coming from the rear wheels. i knew what it was,a lug had come loose. i pulled off the lug nut covers that night to find one of the rear wheels had 2 lug nuts missing and the lug nuts sheered off( meaning they saw it and just disguarded them and slapped it back on put the lug covers on and said nothing to me), two lug nuts had come loose and fallen off so my 33" rear tire was being held on by only 2 lug nuts. i called Sunday morning (the work was done on Saturda) finally got a hold of corporate and they said to get it towed and fixed and to keep the receipts, i would be reinburst. i did this pep boys did the work. they pulled the wheel spacers off. Midas had over torqued the lug nuts causing them to snap off and said nothing. they did make a note on there paperwork but said nothing to me. i did what i could to keep the cost down. i got a military discount from pep boys, i had the wheel spacer replaced under warranty by ORW who installed them. they were aftermarket add-ons that are vehicle specific to my spacific truck. total cost was $145. when it came time for reimbursement Vicktor who runs the poway Midas (SKUMBAG) avoided my calls and emails till i made enough complaints into corporate. at first he only wanted to pay $35!!! I settled for $110. he kept saying its because of the after market parts. i remind you the wheel spacers were vehicle specific ordered and installed by ORW a reputable shop unlike poway Midas and victor the scumbag who runs it. i told him i had the tires rotated 3 times 1) by discount tire 2) by evans tire shop 3) by the chevy dealership after which i never ended having to have my vehicle toed afterwards. Vicktor said i should have waited till monday so they could do the work costing me more money having to take a day off of work. said its all because of the wheel spacers. i told him if there was any question about them he shouldn't have touched them. id have had no problem taking it elseware and avoiding this major catastrophe.in the end i should have sues his ass off for subjecting me and others on the road to danger for incompatant work. i would not get any work done here. avoid them at all cost. like i said before, I WOULDN'T LET THEM CHANGE OUT A HAMSTER WHEEL!!! I've never been here before and decided to drop by for a quote about getting my front and rear brakes replaced, because I've been hearing a squealing noise every time I brake. Chad thought it would be best for them to do a brake inspection on my car just to make sure. Turns out my serpentine belt was worn out, my front brakes needed to be replaced, and my rear brakes still had 70% of life left. The other car shop didn't address this issue whatsoever. I walked out of Midas with new front brakes, a replaced serpentine belt, and a brake fluid exchange. Juan hooked it up and took care of my car. All of this took an hour, while my other car shop took a whole day for just an oil change. Going here from now on for all of my car maintenance! 10/10 recommend!!! read more

Took my car here twice, first time for an oil change/alignment. They were done within 2-3 hours or so. They told me that my alignment was off due in part to my shot shocks, which I knew about already, so they weren't trying to scam me or anything. The manager very politely recommended that I get them replaced, but he understood that I didn't have the money, and simply gave me an estimate for how much it would cost. After talking it over with my dad, we decided to split the cost and get new shocks for the front of my car. I took my car back to Midas, and not only did they realign my car again for free, but they also called me to inform me that the tread on the inner section of one of my tires was dangerously bare. I check my tread on a regular basis, but I was only checking the outer section of the tires. They saved me a lot of future grief! read more

I have been to this location to have items checked on my car a few times and have always had the team be very honest with me with the work that needed (or not needed) to be done. Today was no different. Brought my car in as my right side muffler was hanging low under my car. Drew (and Josh) explained to me that it had slipped out of the rubber holder, and fixed it FOR FREE. They did recommend that it eventually be replaced as they do become old and worn out, but said that it should be fine until then. All the good things you've heard of The Manager, Drew, are pretty much spot on. I just took my Sequoia in to have the brakes checked because of squealing. Once the brakes were accessible, he showed me that the brakes were still good instead of trying to feed me some line about how they really needed to be replaced. He explained that it was probably debris that got in there that caused the squealing and that if it persisted that I should come back and they'd fix it. The Sequoia will most probably be ready for a brake pad change on the rear brakes in a month or so from the looks of the current condition of the brake pads. Because of Drew's customer service, I will definitely be coming back here to get them done. read more

Would go to Midas strictly for oil changes because they do a good job. However every time I would go they would always tell me something on my car needed to be fixed. Little do they know I have a close family friend who is a mechanic that I take my car troubles to. Midas told me I needed new rotors and that it was going to be expensive, so I took it to my mechanic to fix it. He was honest and said that there was nothing wrong with my rotors and that they wouldn't need replacing for a long time. After that incident I find it very hard to trust these guys. Would only recommend going there for oil changes but nothing else. Their team does not work hard to satisfy their customers, it is a low paying job that requires commission to make a living. They tell you stuff is wrong with your car to earn a commission, not because it needs fixed read more

This crew is awesome. I knew I had at least a small issue with my brakes. Turned out to be more than I expected. Front right was down to metal (and it never gave the tattletale squeal). Left rear shoes were gooed from a slow leak on the axle seal. Short story - all fixed, new rotors, pads, bearings, axle seals, shoes and drums. They stayed late to finish same day. I originally went here because my breaks were squeaking (I have a '98 Camry. Great car) and I had a coupon for new break pads. The first time I went they said my break pads were fine and still had plenty of life on them so my breaks were just cleaned. As I was about to drive out of the shop I heard a noise and sure enough my wheel was not tightened and about to come off. I went back a few days later because the squeaking had returned, they said it was fine and tightened my E-brake. I went back again a couple weeks later due to the persistent squeaking where one of the main mechanics looked at my car he said he sanded them down or something so they wouldn't squeak any more. He was very nice towards me but when I was driving down Poway Rd I heard another noise, I pulled over and saw that a giant tool was still in the bottom of my car. I went back and returned the tool, he was very apologetic. I went back another time, squeak was still there and this most recent time, my FIFTH time I had made an appointment for three, they didn't start working on my car for an hour which was extremely frustrating because I had class. They put on new break pads (finally!) and the person who was working on my car was the same as the first time I went, he said my break pads were practically shredded. How was this not noticed the past four times I went??? Also, the person who was at the front desk that day, he seemed like a manager and he had a normal name it was just spelled strangely, was quite rude to me (I'm an 18 year old girl) and was talking down to me which i didn't appreciate. Anyways, they do good oil changes that are pretty cheap and quick so that's the ONLY reason you should go here and that's the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. read more
