This is for the Waukesha location. My air wasn't working and I'd been burned by private shops so I started looking online. Midas had the most satisfied customer comments so I figured I would try them. To my joy, I could schedule an appointment the very next day! The air fix was a little pricier than I had hoped, but it was cheaper than it could have been. I also had them do an oil change and check for leaks. I was given a ride home because they thought it would take at least 4 hours (had to order parts). It was just barely 4 hours when my car was done. They didn't find any leaks, and now I can drive with the windows closed and the air conditioning on. Super people in that shop. They will now be my 'go to' garage. read more

Do NOT take your car to this Midas if you have real car issues! They can probably change your oil and other fluids, but not for real stuff. Facebook reminded me that 2 years ago I took my car to them because the coolant kept leaking and the car kept overheating. They told me it was the heat sensor and replaced it. That didn't work. They told me it was the thermostat, I replaced it and the coolant tank. That didn't work. They said the leak came from a hole in the radiator tube, but I think they caused the hole. They finally replaced my Water Pump and the coolant still wasn't circulating, the car still overheated and finally the car blew a gasket. It was toast . They are a waste of time, take your car to a professional. read more

I just bought a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler and took it to the shop to have it looked over because the brakes weren't feeling right. Come to find out, there was about $5,000 worth of work that needed to be done. I expected some repairs, being that it was a used vehicle but I was shocked at everything it needed; brakes, rotors, pads, front and rear shocks, new tires, windshield wipers, differential fluid, and on and on... BUT, Dustin and Ryan took care of everything that I could afford and now I'm on the road and confident I will be safe. They are a great team, great customer service, very knowledgeable and most importantly, they are honest and don't sugar coat or B.S. anything which is refreshing as a woman. I'm confident I am not being taken advantage of but instead, being take care of. Midas has had my truck for 9 weeks. I got one (1) call from Johnathan, not giving an update, instead saying they haven't had it in the shop and an ultimatum to have it moved. I literally tell them fine, either they can tow the truck back, or remove the part that needs to be remanufactured, I'll do it myself. Now 10 weeks in and I get the same call from the owner Tony, with an ultimatum they will tow it off the lot by the end of the week. Says it's not protocol to tow trucks back to the owner. That means waiting 10 weeks, never getting the truck inside and quitting is protocol. If you can't fix it, then don't waste 8 weeks, and everyone moves on. Starts questioning me if I think I can fix it. I used to work at Milwaukee's famous motorcycle company, so yes, I can fix it. For convenience I decided not to do it. Starts arguing about the business sense in them towing it away. He disregards the facts of waiting 10 weeks, my responsibility to get the truck there, and now we're in the busy season. I ask if he runs his other shops like this, that was a mistake. That deleted the 'passive' from 'passive aggressive.' Totally different situation if they would have paid to pick it up, or told me two weeks in. Stay away from this crack-shop. read more

I would like to give a shout out to the Midas location in Cudahy, WI and Sam and the mechanic that worked on our vehicle. We had problems with our outback and sensors. It started out on a very cold day and the check engine light and a few other sensors went off. We were able to get our vehicle into Midas and they fixed the issue. Less then a week later it happened again and they were able to replace another sensor issue. And again when it happened once more, the sensor issue was taken care of and they were able to figure out what was causing the problem. Sam was very informative and helpful and understanding when the issue kept on happening. We will continue to take our vehicles to this location. read more

After filling up my tires last week, I noticed I had another "low tire pressure" notification again this week. I travel every day for work and rely on my car, so I needed to get it in somewhere quickly. I called Midas and they were able to squeeze me in same day! Upon getting there, the front desk attendant, I believe it was Will, was extremely friendly and helpful. The staff working on my car were quick and efficient as well and altogether my car took about 30 minutes to complete (at most). Midas also did not charge me for the service and instead asked me to write a review for them. Of course they get 5/5 stars from me! My car broke down in Wisconsin and when I went it they took 2 hours to complete the "full vehicle inspection" which was 130 dollars. They told me my alternator was bad and that I needed a new one right now for 1,200 and wanted me to get it done. This Midas is legit. It was 2 pm on a Saturday, and I needed a muffler change ASAP. I had an appointment for the Midas at 60th and Capitol. When I arrived, this super nice guy Eric told me that he was really sorry, but they'd fallen behind and wouldn't be able to get the muffler change done today. He said I could leave it overnight and they'd have it done tomorrow, but I wasn't able to do that. I tried calling the Midas on 125th and Capitol, but was told (rather rudely) that they couldn't get parts that late on a Saturday. I then asked Eric if the Midas on 60th and Capitol was franchised with any other locations. He told me about this one on 35th and Wisconsin, so I called them. Craig answered and said it'd be no problem to get it done today as long as I could get there by 4 pm. I drove right over! The waiting area is small, but it's good for a waiting area. I drank all of their complimentary coffee and charged my phone while watching TV. When they hoisted up the car to see the situation, Craig took me out to look at the car and see what needed replacing. Not only was the muffler bad, but 6 inches of pipe was missing! No wonder it was so loud! They replaced all of that and did an oil change within an hour and the cost for parts and labor was competitive; I didn't feel like they were taking advantage of me or my situation. They also let me know about some things to keep in mind on the car regarding future maintenance. They were even able to do an emergency disc brake replacement within an hour of them closing for some other people who were waiting. I know they were going to be working on it past their closing time, but that was really awesome of them helping out the people who needed their car to drive to the other side of the state that night. Nobody wants to have to spend the time & money it takes to have their car repaired, right? But if you have to do it, at least bring it to this Midas. Of course, you know it's a chain (those nationwide commercials with that hideous talking hand are nightmare fuel) so there isn't a lot to rave about price-wise. But what makes this particular location special is the extremely kind & friendly service from the staff, particularly Craig. I called looking for two new tires, & he cheerfully invited me to the shop to see if he could help me. When I arrived, he was just as cheery as he had been on the phone. As I sat in the lobby waiting for my repairs to be finished, I observed him extending that same kindness & good cheer to every single person who came in the door, even people who had a bit of a language barrier because English isn't their first language. He was even advising customers where they could find coupons online to save some money on their repairs. Go Craig! I wish I could do negative stars. I came in for a brake flush and was told lots was wrong with my car. When my boyfriend asked questions he was laughed at for asking a 'dumb' question, they then got combative when he had a follow up question or challenged what they were saying with other possible solutions.(They are the experts, and no one can question that) I was desperate to get my car fixed, so I took their advice and went on a payment plan and they started work on my car. When they were done they said all I needed was a brake booster and all would be good. I was told it was safe to drive. It was not!!!!! I had no brakes I had to use the e-brake or I would have crashed. Based on what they said, I had another mechanic put in a new brake booster and yet my car was still broken. I brought it back to ask why it was not working and I was yelled at and bullied to the point of tears. First they said we further broke it since they did. (not true) Then they said it was still broken because they didn't look at everything originally (which they said they did) Then they said there were other things weren't even looked at. They then said that they replaced other (still working) parts that "could possibly go wrong as a preventative. (not originally expressed). Overall it seemed like they kept changing what they said they did, or looked at, or what I originally had asked them to fix. (ALL I WANTED WAS WORKING BRAKES) Because of how frightening it was to be in that place, as they were overly defensive I just let it go. I was going to leave it there till I could talk to the owner but was told I could not because they thought I would accuse them of further breaking my car. (seriously?) I then left to get it fixed elsewhere. Following on that, Lo and behold 4 months later that "payment plan" was nothing like I was told. I was told 4 months, 267$ no interest and if it's payed on time that would be it. Well I was just notified that I owe an extra 3,000 because of a 299% interest I did not know about, which triggered because I didn't do a call in rebate within 100 days or something. (This was in the contract, but not talked about, and I signed on their computer based on their description, without really reading it all) I have tried to reach the owner but no one will give me any information. I don't know what to do because now I can't afford to fix the car I'm going to be paying for for the next 8 months. TL;DR: Midas misled me about what work was done and what was fixed, also payment plan contract had a 100 day clause to call or trigger 299% APR that I wasn't told about. read more

Very poor experience - I wouldn't be surprised if this Midas goes out of business sooner than later. Needless to say, I would not recommend this Midas to anyone. I had a scheduled oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid change for 1:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon. I showed up at 12:45 PM and was told it was going to be about 1 hour before they could start working on my car because of all the "Wisconsin rust" has been slowing them down. Number one, making excuses to the customer is never a good look. Just tell me you guys are running behind and working very hard to catch back up, sorry for the wait. Number two, being located in Milwaukee, WI, how in the world are you trying to use "Wisconsin rust" as an unseen time constraint that completely caught you off guard and put you behind (not putting a lot of trust in me that you know what you're doing). My car wasn't touched until 2:30 PM. With 5/6 vehicle bays and a full crew of technicians, they managed to fall 1.5 hours behind in the 5.5 hours they had been working. To be frank, that is embarrassing. I'm not sure if the way they schedule appointments needs to be changed or the workers need to get their job done in a more timely manner, but their current business practices just lost future business from myself and several other customers, today. Side note: When you're an hour and a half behind early in the afternoon, don't let customers see you eating pizza and messing around on your phone. read more
