Not only did I get what I needed, but it came with PERFECT attitude! Now that's a great surprise in today's world. As a senior, I've dealt with so many big companies who's policies include sales techniques that are really nothing more than sales PRESSURE and fear tactics. I DID NOT get one moment of this kind of nonsense while I was at this Midas location. On the contrary, the gentleman who greeted me, advised me of time and job, and took my payment was totally professional, courteous, and even cheerful. I also observed that he was consistently so with the other customers as well as one salesman. I often wondered who were the Corporate Execs that thought high pressure sales techniques, guilt-tripping and taking advantage of those they assumed knew little about auto mechanics would build an enduring, growing customer base ... ??? I am so happy to see that I won't be exposed to this at this Midas location!!! As long as that's the case, I'll be a dedicated customer. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation as per advertised. I normally do my oil changes but since a tire rotation was part of the package deal I decided to bring my vehicle in. After the work was supposedly done, I noticed that they did not do a tire rotation. After bringing it to their attention, I was told since all my tires seemed to wear uniformly, I didn't need one. Now, I'm not a mechanic, but I'm aware enough to know after a few thousand miles, tires need rotation irregardless if they are wearing evenly or not. That's what keeps them wearing evenly! And the reason why I came in in the first place! I apparently upset and begrudged the mechanic, who set out to then rotate the tires, at least he pretended to. I have my telltales and noticed when I got home that nothing was done. I called the counter man to complain and he told me that he personally saw the mechanic rotate the tires. To make a long story short I want to make the public aware that these things do happen when you deal with unscrupulous companies who hire unscrupulous people. It was 4:45 in the afternoon on a cold November day when we were passing through Medford, Oregon in our RV, heading back to San Diego. The belt driving our alternator had begun to slip so our battery was quickly draining. We would soon be stranded in a area we didn't know unless we could get help quickly. After calling three repair shops who said they couldn't help us, I talked to Scott Michael at Midas. Scott said, "we don't really work on RVs but bring it over and we will see if we can fix it". The engine compartment on a class-A RV is very cramped and difficult to work within but after an hour of staying overtime, the technician not only fixed the alternator belt but found and adjusted a loose air conditioner drive belt and a bracket that had also become loose. After saving our vacation, Scott and the crew at Midas wouldn't accept any payment for their work, saying they liked to help people when they could. Obviously, we can highly recommend Scott Michael and the entire team at Midas from direct personal experience. Whether you live in the Medford area or are visiting, you can trust these guys to take very good care of you and your automotive needs! read more

this place is a joke.. called up and made my appointment for three 3pm. for front brake and drum turning, was told it would take 1hr. i showed up 30 minutes early, they pulled my car in at that time removed the tires, lifted the car into the air and thats where it sat for 3.5hrs..........while i sat in the waiting room.. 2:30 removed tires...4:30 came in to tell me that they are just putting the first rotar on the machine to resurface it.....after already being there for 2 hrs.... 5pm vehicle still in the air with all tires off... manager comes in and says "were closeing" as he shuts off all lights in the waiting room... ok then, I'm sitting in the dark shaking my head..at this point i was getting pretty mad..6pm guess what, they pull my vehicle around,, i sat there for 3 and a half hrs.. manager there sucked he did nothing to help the situation except tell me "man you don't know what I've been thru this week we're so short handed" . i was the only customer from 3 to 6. there was a van purposely placed where you couldn't see out the window to watch your vehicle being worked on. i could tell the van has been there for a while because it was bone dry while it has been pouring down rain for the past two days. called to make a complaint and Austin Roy the general manager said and i quote "your just looking for a hand out" . tried calling the owners cell phone that is on the business card and it goes directly back to Austin. i will never go back to this store. the address is 935n central ave medford or, 97501 phone # is 541-772-3015 Midas the managers name is Austin Roy . just a bunch of kids goofing off while on the clock... read more

Do not go to this Midas! I recently contacted this Midas (935 North Central, Medford, OR 97501) to replace the struts on my 2004 Honda Element as well as doing an oil change. Not only did they bend my rock shield on the front driver side rotor (tried to blame the scratching sound on my brakes at first), they bent my rear driver side break line putting in the new strut leaving it rubbing against the tire almost breaking it in half after only a week of driving; they also took 3 1/2 hours longer then they quoted me, and proceed to not do a proper inspection on my car. Neglecting to tell me that my two rear tires were splitting (the rear driver side was a-symmetrical) my two front drive axle boots were nonexistent, my tierod boots were completely torn up, and to top it off the technician didn't do the oil change I asked for (10,000 mile 5-20 synthetic blend) he used the standard 2,000 mile 5-20. When I finally got a hold of the store manager and owner Tom he refused to even listen to my complaints, and was extremely rude. When I mentioned going to small claims court he said "Do It!" then immediately hung up on me. I even tried to go to another Midas in Olympia (108 Northwest Kenyon St., Olympia, WA 98502), they told me about my drive axle boots and my tires saying "my axle could fall apart" then said they only had two hours left until they closed and told me they wouldn't do anything for me and recommended I drive across town to get used tires and go to Les Schwab. I ended up having to go to Les Schwab in Olympia (2825 Capital Mall Dr SW, Olympia, WA 98502), and they were extremely helpful, got us in immediately, and pointed out at least 5 different failed safety features Midas had green lighted originally. read more

Had Oil change. Came here to visit Relatives.. Just because I am from out of state... New problem, gasket, Next radiator and then power steering, each time a new thing is broken, do they break something so they can fix it. I am pissed off. I am not stupid TOM. I was told today that I needed new rear brake pads, new rear rotors and a brake system flush. What I was told raised a red flag for me because I just did a brake flush last week. Took my car to another shop, was told that the rear brakes needed replacing, but the rotors just needed to be resurfaced. And the price to do this at the other shop was less than what Midas wanted for just the rotors. This Midas used to be good until the current manager took over. read more

Let me start by saying that my first experience (February 2017) with this facility was great. I felt lucky to have found an employee (I think his name was Art) with such extensive experience in first gen f body suspension, considering I was just starting the project and the car still had much suspension work in it's future. I had him press in some traction bar bushings, as I didn't have a press at the time. I later visited (May 2017) to see if I could have my new ball joints pressed into brand new upper and lower control arms. Unfortunately, their solitary decent employee (Art) didn't seem to be three that day. Although the place was completely empty, the clerk at the counter refused to do the job, citing the fact that I was doing the work on this project myself and he couldn't guarantee I'd put the control arms on correctly and that I'd blame midas for any problems. I offered to sign a waiver or equivalent to ensure my good faith and attempted to appeal by stating that I'd had a similar job performed 2-3 months prior. The clerk now identified himself as the owner (in a very aggressive and pretentious manner) and raised his voice saying basically that my first experience should have never happened, as they shouldn't have helped with those bushings in the first place. After this encounter, I decided I wouldn't be back because of the owner's ridiculous behavior and condescending, juvenile attitude. Unfortunately, I decided after about a year (April 2018) to give these guys another try and see if things had improved, as I now needed a simple alignment. I drove up, parked, walked past the garage bays (making eye contact with 3 or more employees) before entering the office. I waited 25 minutes (the employees looked directly at me in the office several times) before I finally just walked out and drove down the street to Les Schwab (who I've now been to five times for various services since and would highly recommend). I've never been motivated to leave a negative yelp review in my life (and never have into this point), but the absolute disregard for common sense and customer service at the facility (and multiple instances over such a long period of time) is and should be manifesting itself in lost business, as the parking lot is usually near-empty, while the nearby Les Schwab always has loads of vehicles coming and going. In short, I'd recommend anyone make the 2-3 block trip south to the more professional Les Schwab where they possess general common sense and haven't forgotten what a down-to-earth attitude and old school customer service look like. read more

Do not use the Medford Midas. They lie and price gouge. I dropped my truck off at 10 am and at 2 pm I went back to pick it up and nothing was done. They were supposed to give me an estimate for some work but they did not even see fit to call. When I did get the estimate it was a lie. They were trying to get me to replace the Center link and Idler Arm. When I got the truck home I checked them myself and darned if they were not bad. Usually you will notice play in the knuckles when you rock the steering wheel. I asked why they did not call and they said that they tried. I had no messages on the home phone and nothing on my cell. I even called and told the manager that I was going to lunch so he knew to call me on my cell. I made sure that before I left at 10 am he had the numbers right. They quoted me $937.50 to replace the rear leaf springs. They said it was a 4 hour job. That could be, if you were in the driveway with no air tools. This price did not get me new leaf springs but they were going to send the truck out and have them reconditioned. I could get new for about $250.00. Anybody see something wrong here? The Manager would not even come into the office when I went in to pick it up. One of the mechanics came in. His excuse for not giving me an estimate is that they were busy. When I pulled into the parking lot they were all sitting around in one bay talking. When I used to work for Midas it did not matter how busy you were you got the estimate out to the customer. They did not like the fact that I pointed out that 4 hours with no communication about the vehicle was bad. They also did not like it that I used to work for Midas. This is a bad shop so save you money and try someone else. read more

I'm always cautious with mechanics, it's so easy for them to scam people because most people don't know anything about cars. So a few years back I went to Mike's Muffler Advantage to get a new exhaust system in my 96 honda civic. Unfortunately he totally screwed me by not replacing the ball flex joint in front of the catalytic converter, in fact it ended up breaking my header, which I replaced myself, then constantly breaking the exhaust pipe. I retired the car for the last year and this week decided it was time for my girlfriend to have a car. So in fixing it up for her we had to get yet another break in the exhaust system fixed, this time I opted to actually put a new flex joint in so it would stop breaking. I brought it in to Midas, they threw it up on the lift and tried to tell me that I would have to replace the catalytic converter because the break was too close to the bung where the O2 sensor screws in, or that it would ruin the "honeycomb" to get it too hot. Right then and there I told them they were full of bullshit and just trying to sell me a $500 part instead of doing the $150 job I asked them to. They said "well we'll just take it off the lift and let you have it back" basically trying to sell me on their knowledge with a hard sell. So here's the deal, they were totally full of shit, I know they were full of shit for a number of reasons, first of all catalytic converters are welded together, in fact the bung where the O2 sensor fits is welded in, this means that welding on a catalytic converter is just fine, won't damage it at all. Second... I went to Ashland Muffler and Welding, they did exactly the job I asked Midas to, they did it without hesitation, they charged me a little more than half what Midas quoted. Bottom line, go to Ashland Muffler and Welding instead of Midas if you want honest work on your vehicle instead of fear based sales. read more

Over the past 8 months, my 2003 wrx was having electrical and mechanical problems due to a faulty remote start installation from Best Buy. I took it to several different places and spent a couple thousand dollars but to no avail. Different places kept trying to up sell me and draw any conclusion they could to charge me money. Midas was very honest with me and worked hard to try and get the best solutions and best people to work on it. They referred me over to Southern Oregon Subaru because they thought it was a computer problem that SOS would be more equipped to handle. However, all SOS wanted was my money and even lied to me about what was going on with my car AND tried to sell me services that I didn't need. I called Scott and Loren at Midas and I explained to them what SOS told me. They told me that they were full of it and to not fall for their deception. I brought it back to Midas where Scott worked on it for FREE because he was tired of Best Buy and Southern Oregon Subaru for ripping me off. After 8 hours of labor on it, they had researched and fixed the problem and now my car runs great. I will never go anywhere to get maintenance/repairs for my cars because these guys are the most honest (not to mention knowledgable) people in the business. Thank you Midas for everything! read more

Overall, I had a very good experience here. I took my truck in expecting to finish a brake job my boyfriend's friend had been dragging out, before he had to leave town last minute. I wasn't expecting to need a whole lot done, based on what he told me he had done. Long story short, things weren't done that should have been, and things that were done were incorrect. I was very pleased with the customer service (well done, Loren). I was walked through things step for step (I opted to wait for my vehicle) and shown what was wrong and why it needed to be fixed. We went through a couple of steps because of the way my rear end is built, and I was given a quote for each step. Ultimately, I had to leave my truck overnight because of my work schedule. They gave me a loaner vehicle for the night so that I could get to work, and I picked up my truck first thing in the morning. These brakes are sharp now!! I am very happy with the job that was done. I only wish it was less expensive. (but kudos for managing to find me applicable discounts to help out. I know shops that would have stuck me for every penny!!) Overall, great customer service, great technical service, but a bit spendy. read more
