I had my oil changed and the tall dark-haired guy, the manager, I think, told me I needed new brakes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]"Don't wait," he said. "Do it in the next day or two."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Took the car to an independent mechanic. He called me back and said, "You don't need brakes." The picture of brakes Midas sent me was, apparently, not of my car. I verified with Les Schwab that my brakes were 8mm all around and load tested at 100%. In my opinion, this is actionable fraud. Replace your entire "so called mechanics". They literally told my daughter everything that could go bad in her engine was wrong . They put the air filter in wrong and over filled her oil! My husband called in to ask what they are going to do about it and when my daughter went in to the store they accused my husband of being "mean"..RIDICULOUS! I'm sad to say I will never return to Midas in Medford. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My last visit I went in for my oil change and tire rotation only to hear Bailey had not recorded my appointment and I'd need to return the following day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I left having been overcharged for the service received with a coupon and an estimate for work needed that was close to $2000. I changed my plans to go see my sons for the holidays and waited for our family's trusted mechanic to take a look. Every item on the estimate was completely false! My front arms and tie rods are in great condition, no leaking and everything is functioning great. Also the serpentine belt is practically new and was changed very recently. I rarely give reviews, but I want to warn people about how bad the service is at this shop. I simply wanted to replace my 4 tires on my Honda Fit. When they removed one of the tires they broke the tire sensor and tried to replace it with a cheap, wrong part. After 6.5 hours over 3 days of waiting for them to fix it, they finally realized they had installed the wrong part and had to have me go to Honda dealership to get it fixed. When I asked for a discount due to a 3 day 6.5 hour fiasco they said they cannot give any type of discount, and acted like fixing the part they broke was a heroic act, and also stressed the point that they should not be required to know what part your specific car needs. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE- they will simply put the cheapest, and wrong parts on your car, and will expect you to return multiple times and wait for hours on end even if you make an appointment. THIS SHOP IS HORRIBLE. read more

I needed a new battery, and Midas got me in right away. Have to do a smog check on my vehicle, run cycle was finally done, but then the check engine light came on, have appt for diagnostic test tomorrow morning. We have been using Midas for years, and they've always done right by me. Special shout to Dan, James and Mike. I wanted to get an alignment and a/c recharge. Unfortunately, it needed around $5,000 worth of work. James was honest with me about the car being a money pit, and it wasn't worth pouring money into this vehicle. They could easily have lied to me about repairs to get a high repair bill, but they were totally honest with me. Midas is wonderful!! read more

My battery when kaput. I got a jump start and took it to Midas. They were really busy but was able to get me in because the battery was dead which I appreciated. They replaced the battery and I was on my way. I barely got out of the parking lot and the warning lights and dash lights started flashing, I made it about 2 miles away to Tinsel town and pulled into the parking lot and it died. I called Midas and the woman said it was my alternator. I told her I had a new alternator and it wasn't doing that prior to them swapping out the battery. She said she needed to speak with her boss to see what they can do and would call me back. She never called me back and I had to call roadside assistance. Turns out that when they replaced the battery, they did not clean the corrosion off the cables and just slapped them on the new battery so the cables couldn't lay flush and create a proper connection and then just put a bunch of anti corrosion grease on top of it all. I paid almost two hundred for their services and I had to finish the job myself. Oh and my alternator works just fine as a new one should. I have used Midas for years in other states and always received excellent service so this review is only for the Medford franchise. I doubt Midas will make this right based on the other reviews. This was the second time I went in for an oil change and was pleased from the first time with price. However when I left the shop it took 5 blocks before I heard a bang under my car. I thought I had hit a rock. Down town Medford. Within two more blocks my engine started smoking and clunking so I stopped. Not knowing what had happened. Without knowing there was no oil in the car I tried to return to the shop. Car stopped dead they did call a tow truck and I thought all could be fixed. Not true. I am a 76 year old lady wanting to trust good service. Didn't happen. They sent me home 1 hour away over Siskiyou summit. I was not aware of the damage that was created and called the next day about the incredible noise in the engine. They told me to bring it in and they would give me an oil change for free!!!!! wow I am old but not that dumb i took it to my own certified mechanic where I live. He quoted me an assessment to fix the oil starved engine at 2600 to fix lifters and dig into it to see if cam was damaged. Wow. They still want me to drive over the pass so they can assess and fix. Yesterday I had my car towed to Midas because it wouldn't start. I had just installed a new battery so I knew that wasn't the problem. They said it was the starter and replaced it for $400. Today, less then 24 hours later I went to take it out and my car won't start. Sounds exactly the way it did the day before. I called them and told them the problem and they told me to bring it by and they would look at it. Duh, THE CAR WON'T START. I asked them to have it towed there, but they said they don't do that, that I would have to have it towed. I'LL NEVER GO BACK. The worst. Got oil changed, went home, it dripped on my driveway. Took car back. They said they installed a bad filter. Changed filter. Took car home. Again dripped in my driveway. Went back. They said the owner was not there and they wouldn't give me his phone number. Told Tyler Watson, apparently the person in charge that I was taking the car to The Honda dealership and they are going to pay for it.Said he would have to talk to the owner. I said I would give them a week. Honda dealer said they cross-threaded the filter. Returned in a week, They would not give me my money back. They said they also talked to Honda who said the filter was not cross-threaded. Opposite of what Honda told me. Mr. Watson again would not give me owner's name or phone#. Went in last week for an oil change--40 minutes and they fit me in even though I was late. Needed a rear license plate light--charged me $3. Midas charged me for an oil change and never changed the oil. I suspected this when they failed to provide an inspection form. They stated it was because there wa nothing wrong, they have never said that before. A month later I took it to a full service shop for brakes and they suggested an oil change stating it was 2 quarts low and very dirty. My car does not burn oil or leak. Very disappointed in your dishonest service. I have been bringing my 4 cars here for years, never again. read more

I was told by two mechanics that Midas as probably the reason my CPU was fried, then told by another it may not be the reason.. So I'm not sure, I'm not very mechanical. I posted the first review after the second mechanic said it was fried after the muffler was out on. So I'm not really sure what happened. I do know that I was still treated rudely by the person I spoke with on the phone... Im not sure what happened with my Jeep, but still give one star for the way I was treated when I called with my concern. read more

I went in to get my oil changed like I do with my other two cars for $19.95 I get done with my oil change and they tell me it's 4995 I about blew my coupe. Then they tell me because I was clearly upset that they would go down to 1995 but it's another five dollar charge to get rid of the filter no no no not good so they charged me 1995 and then charged me three cents on my card. Then my roommate who sent me there two years ago in the first place sent me another ad for pure synthetic oil for 1895. Then there's a huge sign behind them on the wall that says we will go through your car and see if there's anything else wrong and we will let you know and give you an estimate and they did not do that I had to ask For that as well and they acted like they didn't know what the hell I was talking about and there's a great big 5+5 ft. poster on the wall behind them as we are talking about it. Then they tell me oh your oil pan is leaking a little bit well I think that's kind of weird because they said that about my other car too a $500 fix I don't think I'll be going back to midas I am really unhappy with them I really feel because I'm a woman that they thought they would really skin me good read more
