Got a flat near Midas. Already had the new tire so we called to asked if they could mount it for us today. They said yes so we drove very slowly with hazards to get it mounted. We arrived at 5pm and went in to let them know we were here. They told us they could mount the tire TOMORROW BC THE TIRE GUY IS LEAVING IN FIVE MINUTES. Are u serious?! Luckily I was able to get a tow to Big O's and at the time of writing this at 528pm the "Tire guy" is still here. So much for an apology for the false info and rudeness I guess. I typically go to this location for oil changes, and minor needs. The staff is always really friendly, and I trust them to give me honest feedback and not try to nickel and dime me. Yesterday I went in for a MO inspection and was told I wouldn't pass as my brakes needed to be changed. It was not a surprise, I knew it was needed, but it definitely wasn't an expense I was ready to take on at this time. Nick was the manager on duty that day and was very kind in talking me through my options, and making sure I was able to pass inspection and get on the road safely. The only complaint I have is the wait. I had scheduled an appointment for 11am, and while I was late by 10 mins (I did call to let them know), I didn't leave until 3:45pm. I waited for 4.5 hours for an oil change, my breaks to be changed, and my inspection. I was told it's because they didn't have the right parts for the breaks, and had to go get them. I wasn't expecting to wait that long, and I wasn't updated on my wait time. It would have been nice to have someone come out, explain the issue, and their estimated time for completion. That being said, everyone did look like they were working hard to complete all their drop offs/appointments for the day! Took vehicle in for scheduled oil change and state inspection. Upon pick up, ask for vehicle inspection report. They say they didn't know they were supposed to do one, even though upon check in said vehicle was there for oil change and inspection. So they "supposedly" go back and do a "quick" inspection and say it does not pass for 2 tires, and nothing else. A week later after getting the tires replaced elsewhere, we make an appointment for the inspection and wheel alignment for Friday, 8/12 at 1pm. Show up, and they say "no, they made the appointment for tomorrow at 1pm." Great, someone else messed up. Go back on Sat for the 1pm appointment. 90 minutes for a wheel alignment and state inspection. Then get told it doesn't pass again, this time for a brake light on and exhaust leak....that they didn't find a week ago. What?? Ask for the wheel alignment report and they say they can't print one but that it was fixed. Ok. Drive home and the vehicle still pulls to the right, same or worse than before. We will never visit this Midas location again and not recommend them to anyone. read more

I saw a coupon about $100 off on brake service with Midas and called ahead about it. Guy in the phone tells me he needs to see the coupon before I set my appointment so I emailed myself the coupon. Set an appointment for 8:30am on May 23rd 2020. I got there about 5 minutes late and was told that my appointment would only take an hour and a half which was fine because that left me enough time to head to work afterwards. I was also told my coupon that I saw (which is now unavailable online apparently) has expired No problem. Click hits 9:50 and I look over to see my car still on the lifter and employees talking and on their phones instead of finishing the job. Mind you I've expressed I had to be at work at a specific time ( which is why I set an early appointment since it would only take an hour and a half) and I was told it would only take "another thirty - forty minutes." So I wait, click hits 10:40 and my car is still without wheels! In conclusion, I appreciate the service being done on my car, but I do not appreciate having my time wasted not appreciate the farewell given. I would not recommend unless you bring in a game station and have 3 hours to spare on a brake pad service! :) read more

We needed to repair brake pads/rotor that had been going out for too long. Midas LS got us in on the same day and made the repairs in a timely manner. A few days later, we thought we could hear some noise in the same area of the repair. They let us bring it in before they closed, looked it over, made sure that our repair was done right and got it back to us in without charging us. The car is running great now. Awful experience. I went in for an oil change because it was $19.99 and close to work. They did an inspection and said my brakes were 1/2 worn. I didn't ask for an inspection. I had nothing wrong with my brakes. My car wasn't making any noises. I got my car back and instantly was making noises. I took it back in for them to "fix" now apparently my pads were worn down to "metal on metal" and totally need to be replaced. What a joke. I wish I would have looked at the two previous yelp reviews. I never would have taken my vehicle there. I will never go back to this location and will do everything I can to avoid using Midas in the future. Hopefully I will never be in a position for them being the last resort. Please just give the oil change and don't screw people's vehicles up. Not a coincidence you're in the "brake business" and out of no where my brakes have a problem. I went to another shop in Lee's Summit to have my brakes checked, after looking at my brakes they said I needed front and rear brakes. They said the repairs were going to cost me in excess of $750.00, so I decided to get a second opinion and take it to the Midas in Lee's Summit. They explained to that they would do a complete brake inspection. After that they brought out to the shop to explain what they found. They showed me that all of the brakes, front and rear were in really good shape. So the reason my brake pedal was low was that the rear brakes needed to be cleaned and adjusted, and they only charged me $40.
