I picked this place because of the 4 star rating and it was close to the accident site (Lee Summit Road). Although they were closed on the Sunday it happened, I left the bike and trailer in their lot and returned when they opened on Tuesday. The service Manager, Dave was great! They looked it over and made it road worthy for me to be able to return to Florida. What they charged was well below what I expected and they had me ready in less than 24 hours. Jamie the service technician also looked over my motorcycle trailer to make sure it was road worthy. What was even better, after they received their money, Dave took the time to call me to make sure that I made it back home to Florida okay. This was above and beyond what I expected. If I lived close enough, I would go out of my way to make this my normal service shop, but 1200 miles is a little too far. A great, respectable and honest shop, a hard find these days.

Overall I'd say great value. My experience using this shop had some hurdles, but it was handled well. There was a miscommunication about scheduling that was upsetting, but they made up for it by getting me in the next day. There was a strange noise that appeared after the repair, and when I returned without an appointment to address it, it was fixed within 30 minutes at no additional cost. These situations showed me that Derek's automotive takes responsibility where other shops don't. Props to Austin at the desk for being very knowledgeable and taking care of me. Will be using them again.

5 stars. Excellent experience with the Luther Mazda service department and advisor Nathaniel…read moreFonda!! I owned a 2022 Mazda CX-5 with an adaptive headlight issue cooling fan failure. It's mentioned in a TSB but my vehicle was almost 13000 miles past bumper to bumper warranty. Because the vehicle was just outside of warranty, and I've been a loyal Mazda owner for 16 years, I opened a goodwill request with Mazda Corporate. Luther Mazda service department went above and beyond throughout the process. They arranged a loaner for me because they anticipated the corporate review could take some time, and they allowed me to keep the loaner while the case was being resolved. Ultimately, Mazda Corporate approved replacement of the entire headlight assembly, with Mazda covering everything except a $100 participation fee (an almost $2500 repair out of pocket). I was extremely impressed with that resolution, particularly since the vehicle was already outside the normal warranty period. I also want to specifically thank the Luther Mazda service team for working with Mazda Corporate and making the process easy for me. I've owned 3 Mazdas since 2010 and this experience reinforced why I've continued to choose the brand. Great dealership and a great service department and great automaker.
