I would never recommend this place. It's unfortunately one of the only places in town and it's not worth it. I went for an oil change and I needed to get a few tires. Half way through I get a call that I need new brakes and I have shock leaking. My 300 dollar total is now 2500 bucks. They went on to tell me how bad this was and needed to be fixed ASAP. I declined. When I got home my car had an oil leak all of a sudden. Come to find out they never fully put the bottom plate on and all of my oil leaked on my driveway and into my garage. They fixed the issue which was fine but they were more worried about scamming me than they were about taking care of my car. I took my car to a trusted mechanic and nothing is wrong with my shocks or my brakes. Do not trust them. Go somewhere else. read more

Been to Big O for years, ONE TIME they didn't detect a tire air leak that Rich's Westside 66 was able to identify...BUT Big O is open at the crack of dawn and works fast, making it basically the only go-to in town for 90% probability of most same day steering and suspension service, and the ONLY place with same day alignment service. No reason, in my experience, not to give a full five stars. read more

I am really impressed with his location. Customer service is top notch, the people that work here will go bend over backwards to make you happy and I have not seen that in a business in a long time. I've been here on a handful of occasions and each time it's been a pleasant experience where the service is top-notch, the guys in the mechanics bay are willing to explain things clearly, and there's times that they'll do things for you just because they're looking out for you. This place is not ideal. The wait times are long and they ask can you leave it with them (drop off). I tried the drop off option twice and told them what I wanted done and to call once they found any issue; on both occasions they failed to do that. Both times I went back to the shop near the end of the work day only to hear that something was needed ( ie ,tires ). I will not be taking our company vehicles there anymore. I will drive the 20 minutes to get top notch service and communication before I visit this local business. Wish I could give a negative star. read more

Traveling through from IN to AZ and got a flat tire on the interstate a mile away from this location. Have never even been to this town and just showed up to the location without a heads up. Given our situation they fixed our tire, breaks and other small things to get us back on our 1,000+ mile journey IN AN HOUR. The kindest service ever received from a car shop. read more

I am always greeted kindly when I call to get information and make an appointment. Big O Tire does so much more than just sell tires. I get my oil changed there, air conditioner worked on, rear window washer work and tires. The time limit I am given as an estimate to get the work done is very accurate. I used this company for years before I moved to California in 2014. Les, the owner, is wonderful and so are Chris, Billie, Jeff and the others. I am using them, again, now that I am back in the area. I showed up just minutes before they were supposed to close on 11/1/17 and asked about getting new tires. When they checked my tire size, they noticed the extreme wear, were concerned that I wouldn't make it home without a blowout and did not want me to leave without my tires being put on last night. I literally had no tread on one of them. There was still enough staff on site to accommodate that. They picked up the tires from their warehouse in Baldwin, installed them and had me back on the road in minutes. I couldn't have been more grateful and pleased. Got a flat outside Lawrence before heading to TX and were towed to Big O Tires in Gardner. Their customer service was excellent. They were friendly and honest, helped us quickly, and got us back on the road in a timely manner. Not to mention, they carried the size of our tires unlike a few other places. Crap tires. Had one come apart, wreaked truck. Guy says, we see it all the time. Turned out tires were 3 years old when they sold them to me. Said someone would call about getting truck fixed. Never happened. Straight up lieing. Wanted to sell another one. Didnt worry any bout the other 3 still on the truck. $4200 damage to truck. They could care less. Almost died. $300 for a 3 year old tire. Never put a Big O tire on your car. You could die. They see it all the time. Much better off at Walmart. Walmart guy says he had heard of it but hadn't ever seen a name brand fail like that. Cap seperated like a retread. Beware! read more

We had two flat tires within weeks of each other and Big O was able to find replacements to match our other tires for a good price. They are fair and honest. Worth the trip outside of 'the city' to get better pricing and great customer service. They also recently helped my cousin who was visiting from out of town and got a flat. 5:45pm on a Wednesday I get my car back (new water pump & intake manifold gasket), good price but 45 minutes later than I was told. By the time I pay and get to the highway, I discover the driver window won't roll up. Too far to make it back before they close, I wait until morning.
