I bought a pair of springs for my pickup in 2020 to replace the factory OEM springs, which had lasted 18 years before starting to sag. Based on a recommendation, I decided to try General Springs of KC. The price seemed fair at $99 per spring, so I purchased their regular-duty springs since I mostly drive in the city and don't carry heavy loads. After installation, I noticed some popping noises. I assumed it was just the new springs settling in since the ride felt the same, and eventually, the noise stopped. Fast forward a few years, I noticed my rear passenger side starting to sag. At first, I thought it was a bad shock, but upon closer inspection, I found the middle spring had snapped in two places. I understand the 1-year warranty policy and that the company can't control how customers treat their suspension. But seriously, if the OEM springs lasted 18 years, shouldn't these last more than 4-5 years? When I reached out to the company, their response was to offer me new springs at the same price I originally paid. That's not a special offer--it's just the current price. I wasn't expecting a full refund, but a significant discount would've shown some accountability and goodwill. I gave them a shot, but with this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere for replacement springs. read more

When I called they were good to talk to and answered all my questions since I was buying springs for my 1964 Ford. They made my springs on site and explained what to expect. Don't waste your money on springs from these guys! I bought two springs for a 99 Tacoma 4 years ago and they are both broken ! Cheap Indonesian junk. Called them and they said they would sell me a new pair for 80 bucks a piece . Why do I want to pay $80 a piece with 100% fail rate and waste my time installing them? I ordered a set of front springs for my 1999 dodge ram 3500 turbo, 2 wheel drive. I was sent the wrong springs and to this day, I am out $500 bucks for new pair of moog replacement springs, another install and alignment. The shop installing (Trick Trucks) called General springs to verify and they verified as correct. The wrong springs caused an increased height of over 1 1/2" in the front, the truck bounced haphazardly down the road, had to be flat bedded back to shop for the correct spring install. Over budget repair caused by wrong parts, not good. Not recommended.. read more

So far I am not impressed with the shipping or customer service. I ordered leaf springs, shackles, U Bolts, etc for my F150. I received the UPS tracking info very quickly, which said everything would be delivered 5 days later on a Tuesday. That was great. I made plans and took Saturday off so I could to the install. On Tuesday only the shackles and bolts arrived. No leaf springs. I called Wednesday morning. The guy seemed irritated I was calling and said he would look into the problem and would get back to me, but that they should arrive within a day or two. He never got back to me. By this morning, Friday, they hadn't arrived. I called again and they said the springs had shipped and will be here Monday. I had them email me the tracking info and saw that the springs were not shipped until after my initial call. They forgot to ship the springs when I made my initial order. They cost me a day off and I had plans for the truck the next week that I will have to push off one more week. I haven't received the springs yet, so I can't say anything about the product. To this point, all I can say is their customer service is not good. read more

Website and phone sales person sold me a set of leaf springs for my Toyota. They were for the wrong model. Lost my Memorial Day weekend of time with my son where we were to wheeling. Company very blase about my inconvenience. Let message on phone system with no response after 4 days. Be very careful to triple check you are getting what you need. Ordered leafs for my Toyota Tacoma. General Spring of KC did not protect the leafs for shipping so when I received them, they are pretty scratched up and paint chipped everywhere. I spent several hundred dollars on them, the least they could do is wrap them so the wouldn't get damaged during shipping. I emailed and called them without any answers. Customer services sucks! Keep this in mind when you're shopping from them. read more

The company is probably fine . The tec. support was bad . The guy was sure he was right . This is very misleading because he was wrong . He was very bold and said the new add a spring for my 2500 Dodge went on the bottom of stack . The spring was too long for the bottom and there was no hole in the new spring for the rivet to hold the band that holds all the springs in place .The spring actually goes above the original bottom spring or above the shortest of the three springs . It will be the third from the top .I think this is true because I ordered the long add a leaf . Probably not true of the short style add a leaf . Lucky for me someone else had a similar problem and posted an explaination . Tec support a little too cocky . read more

Trash company, I sent them a list of parts I needed and asked for a price qoute. I called them every week and either they didn't answer or I got bs story everytime or the sales person will call you back. It took 4mo for them to finally send the qoute and then two weeks for them to call me back to pay and I called every week with a promise to be called back. When I got my springs that I paid $1,400 for and $300 shipping they arrived damaged and beaten up, they weren't even wrapped or put on a pallet. I called and they said just hammer it back straight and spray paint it. Its not my job to fix their f- up and they wouldn't discount or anything, I said then send me a return label and take you crap back and give me a full refund. They said I could ship them back and pay for it and they would charge me 20% restock fee. What a trash scam company. I'm going to report them to my AG office and aswell to BBB and FTC!!! Bought an Add-a-Leaf Kit for my 2012 F250. the leafs were to long. The leafs would not fit in to the end holding brackets. my mechanic called GSK and asked for installation instructions and was told there were none. the tech services rep suggested a number of options that seemed totally inappropriate. the job went from a 1-1.5 hour install for a 4 hour. I finally sent the kit back which cost me a 10% restocking fee and $80 shipping fee. read more
