Ford on noland has my car right now working on other things and they called to ask me if my transmission was rebuilt or replaced because a very important piece was missing. I called AAMCO to tell them about the piece they forgot, then asked if it was replaced or rebuilt at about 10 am, they said the would call me back. I waited until about 2:30, I called again to get my answer. THEY DID NOT ANSWER knowing it was me. I called from my work phone AND BAM THEY ANSWER then tell me that my transmission was REBUILT INSTEAD OF REPLACED LIKE I WAS TOLD AND PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I financed some and paid 1500 out of pocket. They also screwed up my financing. It's my fault that I didn't read what I signed, but I didn't think I needed to because the store manager "explained everything to me" and seemed like he knew what he was talking about. I was told i would be paying $170ish A MONTH and next thing I know it's coming out of my bank every week.

I haven't a problem since. I'm very grateful for the service.

Overall I'd say great value. My experience using this shop had some hurdles, but it was handled well. There was a strange noise that appeared after the repair, and when I returned without an appointment to address it, it was fixed within 30 minutes at no additional cost. These situations showed me that Derek's automotive takes responsibility where other shops don't. Props to Austin at the desk for being very knowledgeable and taking care of me. Of course, there's a charge for that "service." Instead, we asked for specific repairs and they charged for "taking a look" to confirm in addition to cost of repair. They also said they had to run codes, charged to run codes, then quoted a repair that had already been done. The communication from the "front office" to techs is ineffective resulting in wasted time and unnecessary repairs being made and quoted. If your car problem is not cookie cutter, they are not equipped or able to diagnose. Their service is mostly consuming time and charging for it.
