Do NOT go to Midas in West Hemet! I went there 2 weeks ago to just get an oil change and top off the other fluids. I told them to NOT touch anything else as I have other things setup elsewhere. THEY DID NOT LISTEN!!! They messed around inside my trucks engine and unplugged the cylinder 2 fuel injector! I NEVER had any problems with my truck until a few days after getting the oil change my engine light came on and flashing! I had my daughters friend come and look at it and he plugged the cylinder 2 fuel injector back!! After doing that and turning my truck off and on, the permanent engine light cleared immediately!!!! read more

If you are reading this I advise you not to spend a dime at this establishment. I had purchased a Groupon for an oil change & tire rotation for $45 which I was going to use. I called to schedule an appointment, in which they said to just walk in & they'll squeeze me in. Upon arriving I go up to their service desk at around 11am & come across AL Boza, I don't get greeted & barely acknowledged. I let him know I'm there to get an oil change & tire rotation, he started off by asking how many miles I had which I didn't know exactly, so he grabs my keys & checks. Comes back & still very cut/dry with me. He states he will call me when my car is done. I ask if they'll be doing my tire rotation in which he states "if we have enough time to get around to it, we will". What kind of response is that from an so called manager? 4pm comes around & I haven't received any type of communication it be phone call, text or email stating my car is ready. I instead contact Midas & ask if my car was ready in which they stated yes. During this phone call he didn't state my car needed xyz or that I was going to pay extra for anything, which you'd think they would advise you. Upon arriving at 4:15pm once again not greeted & to then be told I would have to pay an additional $10 for .30 of oil because my Groupon only covered 5 qts not 5.30 like I stated before I was not made aware of this when I dropped off the vehicle nor when I contacted them to see if my car was ready. I proceed to ask did your team perform a tire rotation? Which he stated no because my tires are bald, however my tires have a lot of tread left? & if that were the case wouldn't you not contact the customer beforehand & ask if they'd like to purchase two new tires or give them options? I expressed that his customer service isn't the greatest in which he replies with "I'm the only one here" & "you don't know my medical conditions" 1. There was 3 other guys hanging out on the bays, so he was indeed not alone. 2. What does your medical conditions or problems have to do with me? Or how you treat your customers. I paid the remaining balance & left the facility. As I left I noticed that their mpi or curtsey check was no where to be filled out. So it didn't state what tires I needed? I took my two cars there for oil change thinking that the recent oil change I did wasn't done properly, because both cars kept showing 'check oil level' on the dashboard screen. Sam and the other guy, I can't remember his name, they helped me check both cars and saved me from spending any more money, they helped me reset both vehicles, stating that the oil change was done properly but the people didn't know how to reset the cars. I am back to this state. My dad had told me about Midas, he goes there for his truck. I went in for an oil change. The job got done, good customer service , and feed back on my questions. Later that day when I needed to get in my glove box as I opened it all my papers fall straight to the floor. Someone had broke the glove box while checking the compartment air filter. Did not say anything while I was there. I went back the same day to talk about this situation They blow me off by stated it was like that and had pictures they could send me I agreed Its been 4 days plus the weekend and NO PROOF! has been sent!! I went in for an oil change. I was disappointed to learn Mike, the former manager, was managing a different store. He was very good and didn't see $$ signs when I walked into the shop. The Estimate was $1,500. and that's what I ended up paying. Even after telling them I want to wait until next week when I had the money. They badgered me saying " you don't really want to hurt someone on the way home do you?" My brakes were not at the point of going out. No way was I going to run into anything. I reluctantly agreed. They had my car all day. From 9-5:00 pm. I had to call them. 3 times. They were supposed to pick me up when it was done. They finally did. I'm having it double checked to make sure the work was done that I paid for. When they reset my on board readings everything was in the metric system. Celsius and kilometers. I majored in chemistry in college but I don't use the system. I have to convert all my readings. There is more, but I am too exhausted from this whole ordeal. read more

Had to take my elderly moms car in because the air conditioner was blowing warm air. I did some research online to see how much an A/C service would cost (refrigerant recharge). I started coming to this location about 2 years ago. First came in an had a new radiator put in and then on and off for other little repairs. I always assumed that I was getting an honest and fair price. Never really thought much of it. Every time I would go in the guy in the office was always really nice and seemed knowledgeable and was willing to work with your budget. I also always had my husband with me which really shouldn't matter. However, today I went in because the blower motor on my old 09 Kia spectra was going out so I figured instead of doing it myself I would take the car in and have the mechanic do it. Now the blower motor itself if between $50 to $80 bucks. Sits right behind the glove box and takes about ten minutes of labor. Mr. Midas did not know I knew this and told me it would be $350 for parts and labor. I said really the part is only $50 to -$80. No thanks and walked out. So before I made any assumptions I called around to gather a few quotes and needless to say he was $130 higher than my highest quote. So ladies be careful when you go in there by yourself and make sure you get other quotes before hand to make sure he is not ripping you off. So sad, I really trusted him. WARNING!!!!!! ESPECIALLY WOMEN!!!! I had to take a few days before writing this review because I have been very bothered by what's going on at this place. I have taken my car there a few times for different things because it close to my job it's easy for me to drop it off and get a ride back to work. A month ago I had an oil change and after that was told I needed to replace my belts so I went back about a week later to do that. I asked the guy who was working that day if they could do an inspection on my car as it was making a sound whenever I backed up. I was told when I came to pick up the car that that noise was cuz I needed rear brakes. A few days later I (last week) I took the car to another place (Brakes Masters) to see what they thought and they said yeah I needed new brake pads. It was late in the day and since it wasn't an emergent thing I said I would have them done the following weekend. That next week the noise on my car got louder and I was supposed to go out of town over the weekend so since again Midas is closer I took my car there to get the brakes fixed which I was initially told would be around $250. This turned into a nightmare very quickly and I am in the process of contacting corporate cuz there this is an ethical issue that needs to be addressed. Jack was working that day not the guy who gave me the quote. I dropped off my car and he called me about an hr later saying that the rods on my brakes were stripped and needed to be replace and I would have to pay almost $800 to fix that problem. I said well how would that have happened he said it looked like the other place you took it to may have done it cuz I had mentioned it to him that I had taken the car there for a quote. He told me that he would not replace my brake pads until I replaced the rods. I don't know much about cars at this point I am just in shock and distressed cuz that's a lot of money. I said okay I will take it back to them cuz if they did this then they will fix it. He told me he would not even recommend to drive the car less about a mile away. So I had to call a towing truck to pick it up cuz I was gonna make sure I figured things out with these people. Since I was told stripping rods is something that someone or I had to have done. Jack was very un ease when I came to pick up the car cuz at that point I was accompanied by a male friend who seemed to know about cars. He became very defensive and raised his voice in front of other customers trying to say he didn't say it was the other place that did it which I know there's no way of telling that but all we wanted was the printout of what he said I needed. He would not give it to me but kept talking. Finally, we were just like okay please just give us the form so we know what to tell the other place he said "you won't let me talk" there were other people in there and they saw him act crazy! This story is long but bottom like none of what he said was true. My rods were not stripped I was showed. This guy is a liar!!!!! I didn't even need rotors but replaced them any way at the other place walked out paying about $309 in total. The guy at the place actually said he couldn't believe he had me tow my car for that. Dont waste your time coming here only to get treated like the way I got treated here. I will absolutely never step a foot in a Midas ever again. Went in at 11am to drop off my vehicle so they could check my breaks. I felt that the breaking in my vehicle was not as strong as before. The owner said it would take about an hour because his guys were taking lunch. Got a phone call at 12:45 by the owner explaining what was wrong along with an estimate. I did not want any work done that day so I told him I could come by the shop. Not 5 minutes passed by when I came to take my vehicle back and the owner tells me to come back again because his guys were at lunch... again. I come in a 3rd time at 4:10pm for him to say come back at 5pm. Finally got a call at 5pm saying to come pick up my vehicle. Funny enough because they close at 5pm and I was their last priority. Even though I had told him I was going to come back another day, the owner not only wasted my time but also lost me as a customer. Please do not ever take your car to Midas, especially if you're a woman!! I took my car to Midas for brakes, they said I needed new tire and rack n pinion work. I went to pick my car up and they said my transmission broke!!!!! Ten days later, today, I went back to get my car and was told it wasn't my transmission, they broke my axle. They also did a lot of work I did not authorize. Then Jack refused to take my Midas credit card, told me to bring cash, I finally said I was calling the police and Mike took my credit card and I got my car home!! I'm suing Midas now!!! Just called to get a price quote and the man was very unprofessional. I asked about an oil change and transmission fluid change. He gave me the price of the oil change but said if my transmission was holding or slipping he would have to look at the car, okay that's fine, asked about a tune up, he asked how many miles, I told him it is high mileage but the motor is good,"well why are you tuning it up then" he stated! Just as I was about to ask about my other vehicle. I am new to the area and never thought a franchise company's policy would be to say "well I have to drive the car first" just for a quote!
