I went in to Golden State Smog --for an oil change --and was super happy with my service. No trying to upsell me on anything extra, even though my car is older and I'm sure they could have tried! The place was clean and organized. The price was also fair. I will most definitely be back for any other auto care I need. These are the mechanics I have been looking for. read more

A+ Very detailed and knowledgeable. Smogged my classic vehicle with no issues. Will do business again.

We have been customers of Golden State Smog & Auto for more than 15 years. Smog checks, and both routine and major mechanical repair work on at least six different vehicles, including a Chrysler minivan (used) engine replacement and a Ford F-150 (new) transmission. We have happily recommended Daniel and his team to our friends, and we appreciate and value the fine work they have done for us. read more

Great place to get your car smogged. They have discount coupons as well. Clean shop and waiting room. Don't get tricked by going to the first smog station you drive up to from the street with all of the signage! It's the next shop behind it not the first one in the row. read more

Daniel and his team are always top notch with service and honesty. My family has been coming here for over 18 years. I definitely recommend golden state smog to everyone. read more

Great prices and friendly customer service. Had to come here for a brake and lamp test because my truck needed it. Owner educated me clearly what I needed to do and was well informed. read more

The front desk lady is extremely rude. She is a sour puss. She didn't seem to want to be there. When the quotation came back, there was a price difference, and I simply ask what's the difference; instead of asking the mechanic to explain it to me, she gave me a blank stare and said, "your brakes are not to spec". It is not what she said but how she said it. She might as well be chewing gum while saying that; funnier that way :-). Well, next! I will never come back nor recommend this place to any of my friends or family. read more

Service at Golden State was great. I took my vehicle for a smog inspection. During the inspection some of my systems hadn't cleared as I recently changed my battery and needed more mileage. Daniel rechecked my car several times across a few weeks until it passed the inspection, he didn't even charge to retest, really showed integrity. I highly recommend this location. read more

UPDATED, I want to add recognition of thier integrity to my previous review. I showed up without my DMV renewal oblivious to the CA required 5star smog. They took my car in anyway for testing and informed me that the DMV required a test at a specific smog station. They differed me to another great business just down the road but didn't charge me for the test they performed even though they were well in their rights to do so. Love this place! read more

I brought my truck to this shop like I have many times, truck is perfect! I installed an electric fan for the radiator as an improvement, they charged me 40.00, said it had been tampered with and failed the smog test. It took me another month to get it to the Bureau of Automotive Repair at the San Jacinto College, many miles away. They looked at it confused and said it didn't affect the emissions, so they passed it, and only charged me for the Certificate $8.25. This business has wasted alot of my time and money, the smog guy is hostile and a dotard, use another buisness and do your self a favor! read more

Horrible customer service and very overpriced. Will not be returning. 1/10 if possible.

Not bad, 107 for the inspection and 90 for some adjustments ,open on sat fro. 730 to 12 read more

Went to go get a smog check and when I arrived there was a nice gentleman standing at the front and he asked if I was here for a smog and he took my keys right away and told me that he could get me out of here in about 10 minutes. Great service definitely will come here for all of my smog checks! read more

Hello fellow Yelpers! I arrived at this location at 7:30 sharp. They told me to leave my car. I got a call it would be 2 hours. When I arrived at 930 the receptionist was extremely rude. The owner walked in and didn't say anything to how I was being treated. Get ready for a verbal lashing! read more

I've lived in Temecula since 1989. When I had to get my vehicle smog for the first time since I've lived here, I went to Golden State Smog. I've been coming here ever since to smog my vehicles and the families. I stayed with them because of there honesty and determination to get the job done without gouging you price and labor. It's hard to find honest Mechanics, but when you do, I'd recommend staying with them. Thanks guys for your business.. read more

Went today to have an oil change, all was good then they told me I needed a new air filter. I said no problem then asked how much longer and the idiot at the counter said 20 minutes. I said OK... After 40 mintues I saw my car out side with the hood up and no one around. I asked why was my car just sitting there and this jerk says they have not brought the filter.... I asked him why they ordered it and he said they carry no parts. I asked why he did not tell me it had to be ordered and this kid was a real jerk, rude and nasty and said I told you... I said no you did not because if I new it had to be ordered I would not have ordered it, I had an appointment I had to get to. He called the parts place and they said the delivery person was right around the corner, so I waited for the filter. I went to pay gave my credit card and this idiot threw the card back at me after he ran the card threw the machine. Will NEVER go back to this place and will tell everyone I know what an idiot kid is at the front desk. Sorry but who you have at your front desk can make or break your business and you lost me... read more

I paid $48 for a smog test. Friendly receptionist and they provided quick service (about 25 mins). I went on a Monday during 4pm and there was absolutely no wait. I would recommend this place! read more

Need a smog to renew registration; this place got me in and out in no time!

If i could give you guys no stars i would. The first problem was "the owner" quoted me a certain price and the secretary doubled it. They took my car back after they quoted me the new price. The secretary was just plain rude and you can tell she hates her job. This will be the first and last time i come here. How can you double the price and be rude. Dont waste your time! read more

Great service! Got a very fast smog! They tried cleaning my lights too but they were scratched and couldn't be polished. They spent a while trying and didn't charge me a dime for it! read more

Service was great, friendly staff, I highly recommend taking your car there.

Destiny was in the cards today to find Golden State Smog. I was driving around in my car trying to find a smog facility that not only smog my RV, but could accommodate its large size. I drove by enroute to one other place, but ended up here. What a huge plus because I also got an oil change. Everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely concerned for your service. Estimated time was on the button and best of all what a huge bargain. I am a committed customer here and plan to come back forever. Thank you for the great service, but most of all a genuine sense of appreciation-I felt important. read more

I went to them to get the state's mandatory break and light inspection to get my car registered. They couldn't fix everything (I knew there'd be problems as the break lights and license plate lights weren't working) as it was a complex wiring problem, but they sent me to a specialist who did the work, and then when I brought it back they checked it and completed the inspection. Ali up at the front desk was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Honest and highly recommended - would deal with them any time. :) read more

My family has taken all of our vehicles to Golden State Smog for years. The shop is reliable, trustworthy, and efficient. Whether it is a smog check, a small gasket replacement, or a large repair, they get it done quickly and professionally. They never try to upsell a repair or service, and they always tell me exactly what my vehicle may need. I've trusted them with my new vehicles as well as my classic 65 Cadillac. A trustworthy mechanic is hard to come by, and Daniel and his guys are the real deal. read more

Been going here for years for generations of cars - foreign and domestic. Always GREAT SERVICE, fairest price, and quick turn around! Simply the best! read more

We have been going here for years. They have always taken care of our needs and been friendly doing it. Most of the time the bill is less than quoted and they are great about not doing things that don't need done. They will let me know something should be watched but doesn't need done right away. I know when I come here that honesty and great work prevails. I've already recommended them to my friends! My daughter lived in another state and had a problem that kept draining her battery. They fixed the problem and recommended a new battery. I told them I was going to get it at Walmart so it would be warrantied when she went back, and when I picked up the car, they had a printout of the battery I needed from Walmart so I got the right one when I got there. I couldn't recommend them more! read more

It is really hard to find an honest mechanic, we all know that. This is one of the few places you can trust. I restore old cars and have worked on cars for over 20 years. If there something that I do not want to do, these guys take car of it for me and when they do their inspections, they are spot on with the information/ suggestions they provide. If you're looking for an honest and reasonably price shop to get your car worked on, this is the place. read more

They close at 5 and when I arrived at 4:51 for a smog test they said sure, no problem. I was in and out of there really fast, very impressed. The lady that works the front desk was kind too. I was expecting her to be annoyed since I arrived just before closing but it was quite the opposite. This is where I tell people to go now. read more

I was going to take my car here for smog until I read my registration renewal notice saying I had to use a STAR certified smog test center. I had searched several other locations in the area. One didn't want to honor their coupon, another magically was unable to smog my 99 grand cherokee. This place is great. Reasonable prices and great service. I originally took my cars there for smog checks but then found out they do mechanical work also at a fair price. I have to say...amazing! They treated my daughter Amanda with the greatest respect today when we brought in her 1997 Mercedes to get a Brake and Lamp inspection to complete her paperwork to transfer the car into her name after buying it almost two weeks ago from a dealer in Colton. Allie gave Amanda a discount, helped us with printing out insurance card, and they even invited us back after our appointment at the DMV for the VIN check that we found out later was already done! We took the car back and they put her new plates on for her! They have gained customers for life! read more
