The front desk lady is extremely rude. She is a sour puss. She didn't seem to want to be there. When the quotation came back, there was a price difference, and I simply ask what's the difference; instead of asking the mechanic to explain it to me, she gave me a blank stare and said, "your brakes are not to spec". It is not what she said but how she said it. She might as well be chewing gum while saying that; funnier that way :-). Well, next! I will never come back nor recommend this place to any of my friends or family. read more

Service at Golden State was great. I took my vehicle for a smog inspection. During the inspection some of my systems hadn't cleared as I recently changed my battery and needed more mileage. Daniel rechecked my car several times across a few weeks until it passed the inspection, he didn't even charge to retest, really showed integrity. I highly recommend this location. read more

UPDATED, I want to add recognition of thier integrity to my previous review. I showed up without my DMV renewal oblivious to the CA required 5star smog. They took my car in anyway for testing and informed me that the DMV required a test at a specific smog station. They differed me to another great business just down the road but didn't charge me for the test they performed even though they were well in their rights to do so. Love this place! read more

I brought my truck to this shop like I have many times, truck is perfect! I installed an electric fan for the radiator as an improvement, they charged me 40.00, said it had been tampered with and failed the smog test. It took me another month to get it to the Bureau of Automotive Repair at the San Jacinto College, many miles away. They looked at it confused and said it didn't affect the emissions, so they passed it, and only charged me for the Certificate $8.25. This business has wasted alot of my time and money, the smog guy is hostile and a dotard, use another buisness and do your self a favor! read more

Went today to have an oil change, all was good then they told me I needed a new air filter. I said no problem then asked how much longer and the idiot at the counter said 20 minutes. I said OK... After 40 mintues I saw my car out side with the hood up and no one around. I asked why was my car just sitting there and this jerk says they have not brought the filter.... I asked him why they ordered it and he said they carry no parts. I asked why he did not tell me it had to be ordered and this kid was a real jerk, rude and nasty and said I told you... I said no you did not because if I new it had to be ordered I would not have ordered it, I had an appointment I had to get to. He called the parts place and they said the delivery person was right around the corner, so I waited for the filter. I went to pay gave my credit card and this idiot threw the card back at me after he ran the card threw the machine. Will NEVER go back to this place and will tell everyone I know what an idiot kid is at the front desk. Sorry but who you have at your front desk can make or break your business and you lost me... read more

I was going to take my car here for smog until I read my registration renewal notice saying I had to use a STAR certified smog test center. Golden State's website says they are STAR certified but Calif. Bureau of Automotive Repair says they are not. In order to register my car I will have to go somewhere else this time. read more

It is really hard to find an honest mechanic, we all know that. This is one of the few places you can trust. I restore old cars and have worked on cars for over 20 years. If there something that I do not want to do, these guys take car of it for me and when they do their inspections, they are spot on with the information/ suggestions they provide. I went to them to get the state's mandatory break and light inspection to get my car registered. They couldn't fix everything (I knew there'd be problems as the break lights and license plate lights weren't working) as it was a complex wiring problem, but they sent me to a specialist who did the work, and then when I brought it back they checked it and completed the inspection. Ali up at the front desk was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Honest and highly recommended - would deal with them any time. :) read more

We have been going here for years. They have always taken care of our needs and been friendly doing it. Most of the time the bill is less than quoted and they are great about not doing things that don't need done. They will let me know something should be watched but doesn't need done right away. I know when I come here that honesty and great work prevails. I've already recommended them to my friends! My daughter lived in another state and had a problem that kept draining her battery. They fixed the problem and recommended a new battery. I told them I was going to get it at Walmart so it would be warrantied when she went back, and when I picked up the car, they had a printout of the battery I needed from Walmart so I got the right one when I got there. They close at 5 and when I arrived at 4:51 for a smog test they said sure, no problem. I was in and out of there really fast, very impressed. The lady that works the front desk was kind too. I was expecting her to be annoyed since I arrived just before closing but it was quite the opposite. This is where I tell people to go now. read more

They treated my daughter Amanda with the greatest respect today when we brought in her 1997 Mercedes to get a Brake and Lamp inspection to complete her paperwork to transfer the car into her name after buying it almost two weeks ago from a dealer in Colton. Allie gave Amanda a discount, helped us with printing out insurance card, and they even invited us back after our appointment at the DMV for the VIN check that we found out later was already done! We took the car back and they put her new plates on for her! They have gained customers for life! read more
