I'm over 75 years old and Quality Auto Repair (Hemet) is one of the MOST HONEST auto repair facilities I've ever encountered! A different repair shop in Hemet with very good ratings told me (after they did a basic oil change) that my 2 serpentine belts, both of my radiator hoses and the front sway bar links all needed to be replaced. Total bill would be just over $1,100. Quality Auto Repair examined the car, showed me how flexible the radiator hoses were and advised that only the serpentine belts needed to be replaced. Replace the anti-lock breaking system in my 94 Acura Legend Coupe. I provided a used ABS I purchased from Quality Auto Parts w/guarantee (separate etity that provides guaranteed parts). Owner teste it & it motor failed. I returned part & took second part from same company with same guarantee. Owner tested and installed it, and for the first time since 2018 thatI have anti-lock brakes in my 94 Acura.Legend Coupe that work. They are trustworthy reasonable and in my Buick Encores case were able to diagnose the problem when other mechanics couldn't! Had a wonderful experience with this business !! My starter went out while at the store and I was able to bang on it with a wrench to get it running barely. I started calling places around to see if anyone could get me in to have it replaced while I had it running instead of getting a tow, the guy answered and was very kind and understood right away and told me to bring it in even though It was around 3:30 and they stayed open late to help me, gave me a great price and overall were very kind and went above and beyond. Last Thursday April 7, 2022 I to my Toyota Tundra in to have the oil changed after I got home I opened up the center console and saw my Registration for my handicapped permit was not in the envelope, I took it out and it was partially wet I laid it out to dry , but it didn't dry turns out it was oil. I contacted the owner on Friday and all I got was we don't do that. and you were by the office . like I could see. the truck was clear at the other end and I didn't go and watch the guy . a couple of days later I decided to check the oil it really wasn't clean. I was concerned about what damage old oil could cause. so I ordered a device to suck the oil out thu where the dip stick is. well that oil was never changed and I was charged $125.06 for Mobile 1 full synthetic oil . I so I went to Walmart and bought Castrol full synthetic oil and added it in place of that old oil. I will contact the owner I think his name Is Lee. and see what he has to say and I do want my money returned If not I will file with my bank a dispute. I have pics of the oil and 2 people who I have a witness. to the fact of the oil and I do have the old oil as well. I was well pleased in the past with the service at this garage. but now I don't trust them any longer so I will find another place to have repairs and other services done. I can not longer TRUST THIS GARGAGE . PERIOD. I plan on contacting the state automotive dept. and file a complain as well as the BBB. and anyone I know also on FB , this is not right to treat a loyal customer like this. I thought I found a honest shop. And one that cared about the customer instead of making excuses . This shop could end up in small claims court as well and filing fee's are $435. so after loosing the suet filing fee's as well as any other expenses can be charged and they would have to pay all of it and they would loose. My father lives in the area, had a power steering issues with his car, he said he heard of Quality Auto Repair thru a neighbor, I had him take his car to Kelly, he diagnosed the problem to being only a high pressure hose and a leaking sensor switch. Keep in mind my father is 83 he reached out to me to ask if I could contact Kelly in which I did, he took the time to explain what the issue was and also reported that everything else was in very good shape, at that point I gave Kelly the go ahead with the work. A few years ago my 2002 Xterra 4x4 was in another local shop. They were unable to get a new distributor, that they had just installed, set correctly. I dropped off my vehicle to Quality Auto Repair, they quoted me a price of $1125.00, when I came to pick up my vehicle the price of the repair was $1376.87. THIS IS 251.87 MORE. This was not an error in tax... a small change would not have a big deal. They said that they had to add a thermostat... they did not call me, to tell me of the increase, they figured I would just pay. They said this was normally included, but it certainly was not quoted like this. When I complained, the office manage started screaming at me and Kelly said he would take the parts off my vehicle. I said fine... They quoted the job lower, but figured they would just get customers to pay more money. They told me to never come back, so I say good riddance. If they do this to me as a customer, then this is how they treat everyone. I think the legal, term is "bait and switch". This is a miserable shop, and to be threatened, like this is horrible. I think when the inside manager started slamming pens down, and waving her arms in the air it became ridiculous. I checked the cost of a thermostat, Kelly said they do not charge to put it in but the retail cost is $108.00, (not $250.00). So, lets just call this shop dishonest. Ramona Tire quoted me $1143.00, for the exact job, which they are much more reputable and honest. Stay away from these people... And I will go to Ramona Tire, which I should have done in the first place! read more

How often have you dealt with a shop this is honest and friendly and does quality work? If not, then go to Quality Auto. For decades, I went to a local shop that I thought was good, I had an oil change and my car started stalling and eventually died. The shop that did the oil change said they do not do engine work and recommended Quality Auto. My Lincoln was dropped off and it turns out that oil filter material had clogged an oil galley and DESTROYED one of the camshafts and lifters on my Lincoln, they had NEVER seen this happen before. Quality kept me up to date, were so polite and helpful. My car runs like new. Because of the quality work and trust I have in them, I no longer go to my former mechanic, Quality is a shop I TRUST, which is a rare thing to say in this valley. Back in Nov of last year my Drivers side window on my 07 Bug broke. I got a quote from VW and started looking around if I could find a shop closer than Marietta to get it fix. I came across Quality auto and read their extremely positive reviews and it was just down the Street from me so I went there. The Shop was very clean and Organized ( always a good sign) I met two very friendly and nice folks there, they called the Auto Parts store across the street to see if they had the part and they did. They quoted me a rate better than VW and said they could have it done in a couple of hours so I agreed. I had my father pick me up and I took him out to a long Lunch. When I returned my door was on the shop floor in pieces. It seems that when they tried to take the door panel off they broke it in pieces. They were very apologetic and said they had a parts guy who could find them another panel, I actually felt bad for them especially when the mechanic said that that mistake was going to cost him about 500$. They put the Door back together with duct tape, fortunately they had tape the same color as the car. After awhile they had it back together and I asked the woman for the keys, she said "you have to pay your bill first" I said " Oh I'm sorry I though we'd do that when you finished with the car, she said " I'm sorry but I can't give you your keys back until you pay your bill" she was rather cold about it and straight to the point. They had been very nice so far so I paid the bill 400$ . As I was driving away I thought " well that was stupid I bet I never see a new door panel. They had told me to give them a few days to find a door. After a week I hadn't heard from them so I went down there. They apologized and said their parts guy was having a hard time finding a door panel and said to give them awhile to find it. A month later I hadn't heard from them so I went down there again. This time they were both in the office on computer screens, they looked at me when I said Hello but turned back around to their screens and never looked my way again. They said their " guy" was still having a hard time finding a door panel and that it would take longer, I asked " and you'll call me when you get one, right?" they said yes they would. As you have probably guessed they've never called me. They are friendly and they might do great repairs but don't count on them being honest with you. If they'd like to find a door panel call me up and install it I'd be more than happy to amend this review but it's now June so I'm not going to hold my breath read more
