He diagnosed some rear end "anomalies" I guess we will call them. He got the proper parts from top notch performance suppliers, did way more than I had ever even known was needed. Update 09/19/2026…read more UPDATE -- September 19, 2026 Well, here we are again. The engine that Frank's Auto Repair installed in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata in March 2025 was BAD. That replacement motor didn't even make it a year and a half before I started having major issues with it. After everything I went through getting the original engine replaced under warranty, the back-and-forth with the warranty company, being told the warranty was initially denied, and ultimately having to pay another $500 out of my own pocket, I expected the replacement engine to actually last. It didn't. I was initially willing to give Frank's Auto Repair the benefit of the doubt, but at this point, I can't ignore it. I trusted this shop to replace my engine correctly. What makes this even more frustrating is that when the first engine failed, there was already a warranty issue and a fight just to get it taken care of. Now the replacement engine failed as well. Two engines. One vehicle. I'm extremely disappointed with the entire experience. I gave Frank's Auto Repair the opportunity to make things right, and unfortunately, it didn't happen. At this point, I can only speak from my own experience -- and my experience with Frank's Auto Repair has been extremely disappointing. Do not go here go somewhere else!

He charged me $750 to remove the intake manifold and starter, which I agreed to in hopes that he would identify the issue with my car. After a day and a half, I received a text saying my engine was seized and would need to be replaced. This was confusing because, during the initial diagnostic, he told me the issue was electrical. I don't believe he even used the proper tool to manually turn the crankshaft. I had my car towed back home, and yesterday I checked over the work myself. I found missing bolts, loose bolts, missing coolant hose clips, and the intake manifold was installed incorrectly--with a coolant hose pinched between the manifold and the alternator. I essentially had to undo everything I paid him to do just to inspect what else was missing or improperly reinstalled. Wires were left exposed and not put back into their plastic sheathing. For $750 in labor, plus $150 for the diagnostic, I expected a much higher level of care, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship. Unfortunately, what I received was far from professional, and I'm left disappointed and frustrated that I now have to fix the very things I paid someone else to do. I don't expect any kind of partial refund or apology, as that would only imply accountability for what I've outlined above.

They quickly diagnosed it as a faulty starter and replaced it. The entire process was smooth and efficient, and I haven't had a single issue since. From start to finish, the experience was unbeatable. This time, I brought my car in for a clunking noise from the suspension, a significant oil leak, and an issue with the passenger automatic seat not working properly. They diagnosed everything accurately and honestly. The clunking turned out to be a loose bolt on the sway bar, and they tightened it without charging me. The oil leak was addressed properly and thoroughly. The best part was the seat repair. They fixed it without charging me because no parts needed to be replaced. That level of honesty is rare and truly appreciated. The quality of work is consistently high, and the turnaround time is hard to beat. During my first visit, Paul assisted me and provided excellent customer service. This time, Joel helped me and was just as professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Horrible. Gave them a thousand dollars to repair an intake manifold gasket. And it came out needing…read morea whole new engine harness because they broke the wires that connect to the coils. They gave me the vehicle back and it couldn't even go over 35 mph. After I took it to the dealership because these guys said they couldn't fix what they had broken. The dealership told me it would need a whole new harness and they shorted my ECM so I in total it would cost 12k to repair. The vehicle was only 3 years old so their excuse of "wear n tear" is total bs. Not to mention they had the vehicle for over two weeks. I'm very unsatisfied and low key feel like this is a lawsuit. They never mentioned any of these things until I went home with the vehicle and noticed it wouldn't accelerate and the engine light was on. In result we had to trade the vehicle in to get another one and are now upside down on the loan. This was for a GLS 450. What could improve this situation is if they paid me back the money I spent to repair the vehicle and the difference in the loan for having to buy a whole new car due to the damage.
