If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. We are from New York, and when we had left on a 22 hour trip to travel to Denver, we thought our front brake pads would last. Sadly, not the case. Anyways, we called all over trying to find a place that could do a quick brake pad replacement. We scheduled our whole day around our 3:00 appointment time (mind you, we could have stayed in Rocky Mountain national park the entire day had we known it was going to be a disappointment). They tell us, "you need all 4 brake pads replaced; front and back. We agreed to do that. Then, the "mechanic" says, oh well your rotors are shot you need new ones. We had just replaced the rotors mid April. His only reasoning is that "they're rusty". We're from NEW YORK. Of course the car is going to have some rust. We had them drop the car and went on our way. Absolutely ridiculous. A waste of valuable time. Don't go here. I will say, the man running the counter inside the store was very friendly and tried his best to accommodate us and give us good recommendations on places to visit. read more

I usually go to my Midas shop at 6th & Kalamath for routine maintenance, but after a recent/emergency (before a work trip) oil change at Grease Monkey, my car was leaking oil. I took it to Midas and they verified that GM put in a plug that was twice the size it should have been. They topped me off and put in the correct plug and didn't even charge me. They broke the lug nut of my wheel, scraped up the undercarriage of my car to the point that a huge piece was hanging of and the entire undercarriage was hanging down, dented my back wheel well, lost two screws to the body of my car. I showed them the damage and no one took responsibility. The manager said he couldn't help me because he was a rotating manager. The guy who did the work on my car was on a personal phone call as I tried to ask him what happened to my car. I will be finding a lawyer read more

Do you enjoy companies that attempt to steal from customers? If your answer is yes, then this is the place for you! I had a screw in my tire and needed it to be patched up. I brought the tire to this Midas wanting to experience the "Midas touch." The tech came out and touched my tire with his magical hands. With this simple touch, he came to the conclusion that the tire was driven on while flat, and was no longer repairable. I now needed two new tires. Please note, I placed the spare tire on the car and removed the flat tire immediately when it became flat. The tech readied a purchase order and told me it would be $450. I decided to bring my car to a friend that sells tires instead. My friend does not have magical hands blessed by a genie, so he was force to do a full examination of the tire. He concluded the tire was perfectly fine with exception to the screw lodged in it. I was amazed at what a tire could do with a little bed rest, it healed itself!. A quick patch job later and I was ready to go. The "Midas Touch" is as real as a 90 degree snowy day. If you ever have the sudden urge to be robbed, I thoroughly suggest visiting a Midas. read more

Oh wow. My husband and I were planning on meeting his family out in Vail this weekend, and we pull out of our apartment at 7am only to find out that we have a completely flat tire. While my husband was putting on the spare, I started calling around to places, and decided on this one honestly because Rick was the nicest phone interaction I had. I brought my car here for an oil change and told them it was sometimes struggling to start and that I wanted to resolve that issue specifically. They looked at the car and told me the check engine light was on for the catalytic converter, and that the engine could use a new valve cover gasket. I told them I was already aware of these issues and that since the car is older and high mileage I was not that concerned with fixing those specific issues right now, but I really wanted to fix the issue of the car struggling to start. The employee told me he recommended I go ahead with replacing the catalytic converter and that perhaps it was clogging and causing the car not to start properly. I paid for that repair (somewhere around $550) and when I picked the car up it struggled to start right there in their parking lot. I went back inside to tell them. The employee came outside, listened to the car try to start and then said that "maybe" the problem was that I needed new spark plugs and told me if I bought them he would put them in for me. I bought the spark plugs and he did put them in free of charge, but the car still struggled to start in their parking lot. At that point he said that another employee said my starter sounded weak and perhaps that was the issue. At this point it seemed like they were guessing what was wrong and never even fully inspected the car. I brought the car home and drove it for about three days before it wouldn't start at all. I had the car towed to a different mechanic because I felt like Midas misdiagnosed the problem and did not listen when I told them I specifically wanted to correct the issue of the car struggling to start. The independent mechanic I brought it to told me the car needed a new starter. I went back to Midas on my bicycle and asked if there was a way they could work with me on the price of putting in a starter since I had just spent a significant amount of money at their location on the catalytic converter replacement which turned out to be unnecessary, and they basically told me no and quoted me around $900 to replace the starter. I am so mad and upset and feel like Midas took advantage of me and did work on my car that was not necessary to fix the issue I specifically wanted fixed. When I had my car towed to the independent mechanic I told the tow truck driver what was going on and he said he would never recommend anyone go to Midas, and I fully agree with him. I most certainly will never go back there and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

When my van was about to lose it's right front tire, the closest place for me to pull off was this Midas. I was over car repairs! I told them I wanted the least amount of work done, but I needed it safe enough to drive it to the dealership to trade it in. They did just that. My husband took his car for service here with a bag of change on the inside door panel and was ripped off by the men servicing the vehicle. I called the mamager to report the theft and was ultimately called a liar with my complaints being dismissed ruled fraudulent. I received outstanding service at this Midas location. The staff was very friendly and made sure to fit me in at a time that worked for my schedule, even though they had a very busy week. Furthermore, Rich and his team of mechanics walked me through everything going on with my car and explained each cost to me. I've never had an auto shop be so transparent and fair with costs before, and actually take the time to educate me about my car (rather than take advantage of my ignorance). I have not had a good experience with this Midas location. Out of convenience i started going here. I used to live a few blocks away and purchased the Royal Flush or Gold card whatever you would like to call it. Basically $72 - Four Oil Changes, 2 Tire rotations and a bunch of nominal discounts you can usually find a coupon online for. It has been struggle just these use oil changes within the alloted year because this location never accommodates the customers. Always quoted 2-3 hours or can not be seen at all for a simple/quick oil change. I have noticed they frequently suggest up-sell and up-charge services that are needed. $90-$100 for a $15 air filter that a kid could slid in you they will try to charge you. The other day when i was getting my third oil change with the Gold Card, the very rude bald headed clerk upfront decided to punch the 4th line on my card and say that my card is full. It clearly only has had 2 punches, with the second punch kind of merged with two half punches clearly on the 2nd line. I explained this to the clerk and he said thats not his problem, he didn't do it. So i am not i supposed to be short changed and ripped off my 4th oil change? Don't go here, they will try to take advantage of you and can not be trusted. read more

When my car needs work done, I go to the mechanic knowing I'm about to get ripped off. Which is why I was so surprised that the opposite happened at Midas! I called at 6:50AM needing to be squeezed in for a brake checkup immediately and have my service done quickly. They didn't complain or try to give an excuse why it would take a while. They took it for a drive around the block for a sample of the vibration I was feeling when I slowed down, and then pulled it right in. I didn't get the man's name, but after about forty minutes he came up to me telling me exactly what was wrong... nothing. Apparently my rotors were "warped" but could be machined if I wanted to wait. No dire need, however, and my pads still had half their life left in them. So I opted to only do the oil change, and to get my rotors machined when I needed my pads replaced. And they were A-OK with that. No pressure to fix my one (barely) leaking strut, although they did lecture me about my EGR tube... which I've been putting off for about two years now... oops. So all in all, they didn't pressure me once into getting work done that I wouldn't need. And I appreciate their honesty in not lying about my pads being worn or anything like that - because really, I wouldn't have had a clue. Thanks Midas! One star off is for charging almost $40 for a simple oil change. And only having boring magazines in the lobby, except for Spanish People Magazine. I'd have to brush up before I could understand it, though. read more

I pulled in and although the tire wasn't repairable, these guys didn't hesitate to change my tire to my spare and helped me get on my way. I highly recommend this Denver Midas. Only giving one star because zero stars is not an option! Had the worst experience(s) with Midas. Yes, they know how to sweet-talk and give prompt service, but those come second to my vehicle's health and my safety. Midas has given me three different alternators in the past 2 1/2 months. I was recommended here by AAA to have my alternator replaced. Three days later, my car died on the side of the road. Midas apologized and replaced the alternator (they said they had not tested it after replacing the first time but guaranteed that this new alternator would last a long time). Last week, I went in for an oil change/courtesy check before a trip to Utah. Everything was fine, they said, and even joked about the alternator. The next day, my car died and I was stranded on a mountain pass in the middle of a snowstorm due to my alternator not working. Though Midas replaced this part for the third time, I will not be returning. I don't trust this place to produce consistent, quality work. My experiences with them go to show how careless service has been and how unreliable their parts are, in addition to the $700 I had to pay for a bad part and ignorant service. Stay away from this one, even if it is AAA approved!!!! read more

Took my Jeep here to get a quick oil change and replace my leaking shock. The rear brakes seemed low. After they looked at it, the pictures employee was rude as he told me the brakes were fine, practically laughing that I asked! Then it turns out the manager had written down the wrong shock as the one that was leaking. He proceeded to make a sarcastic comment about why I would want to replace one that was just fine. Of course I want to replace the leaking one. Really?! Then they tried to charge me an additional $2400: to get new tires (I do need new tires, but was not asking to get them today), alignment (yes, that should go with it, too- fine) - that makes about $900, still too much AND THEN upper and lower ball joints. When I said I thought it was bs, since I am not having issues, they tried to "show me" on the car. It was wholly unconvincing. Even if these do need replaced, they are likely to be covered under my warranty. I'll be taking it to the dealer and to an independent shop to verify. If they really believe it is necessary, then that should be encouraged, since with good prices it would be easy to undercut a dealer cost. Stop trying to take advantage of women. Take your car somewhere legit instead- or at least less disrespectful. read more

Watch your back with these guys!! First, the guys took my number down wrong then accused me of giving them the wrong number (I may not know much, but I know my own phone number!). They told me my clutch was so bad it needed to be replaced ASAP and offered to do it for $1100. I took it to Clutch Express who said while the clutch was wearing out it had another 8,000 to 20,000 miles on it and it would be a waste to replace it before then. They quoted me $600. They also took the time to bring my type of clutch out to the counter and demonstrate how it was wearing out. Midas did find an unrelated problem that needed immediate attention (loose lock collar), but they said they would only do it if I replaced the clutch. read more

This is one chain location that impresses me. Twice I've brought my car in and had it fixed the same day. The second time was a few months after the first and they remembered me (and gave me a ride to work!). Plus, good coffee in the lobby both times! Tip: check out the online Midas coupons before going in. Prices aren't dirt-cheap, and although I'd rather pay then go anywhere else and risk getting ripped, saving money = a good thing. read more

Tires bought under warranty from this place and when I got a tire replaced by them my cost was damn near full price of the tire. And they proceeded to tell me the "cut me a deal" on that warranty. I started taking my car to Midas on 6th ave this past year. I've taken my car many different places and paid pretty much the same thing to get my oil changed. The reason I keep coming to Midas is the customer service. I always get in and out in an hour ( I sometimes call to make an appointment just to make sure). The last time I went in was during the winter. I had just bought new windshield wipers and could not figure out for the life of me how to put them on my car. I briefly mentioned this to the guy who checked me in for my oil change and he insisted that he would help me put them on and show me how to do it so I would know next time. Midas was simply inspecting my car. Later that night I was on i25 and everything shut off: the power steering, lights, engine... I had to get a tow and soon further inspection I needed to replace my alternator because my old alternator had been tampered with by midas so that it was shorting out. read more

I've used this store for years now for oil changes, new tires, and other car maintenance. They have always been very professional and friendly to work with. I didn't know anything about tires and they were very helpful in helping me pick out my tires. Anytime I have gotten an oil change, they have always been very efficient and transparent as to what is going on. My oil light recently came on however, I didn't have time for oil change but my oil was low. I stopped by and they topped my oil off enough to hold me over until I am able to come back for the change. This is definitely my go-to place when it comes to car service and maintenance. read more

I had a flat, across the highway I saw the OPEN sign at Midas. I pulled into the lot, went into the store, and waited for a rude man to get off the phone. He asked what's wrong. I replied my tire was flat, he said no one could help me and that the shop was empty. I then said that I had a new car and asked him if he'd help me figure out my own jack. He said no. I said, you're really not going to help me, your sign is on. He said, and I quote, "Call your insurance, sweetheart." Then he watched my pregnant friend and me change my tire in the parking lot while he turned the OPEN sign off. He was so rude. I have never in my life been spoken to like a child by any man. I cannot believe someone as rude as him is allowed to be at the store to answer the phone or greet customers. No man in a professional capacity has EVER called me "sweetheart" in such a condescending fashion. I am appalled. read more
