I went in because my car was leaking oil. I dropped it off with no appointment in the morning. Turns out last guys who did an oil change didn't put in an oil filter properly. They noticed I was due for an oil change anyways in a few days, so they called and asked if I wanted an oil change while they had my car. I said yes and they only charged me for the oil change. DO NOT GO HERE! I was HIGHLY disappointed when I went to Midas touch to get my tire replaced. Upon arrival I was told that it was going to cost $300 to get a new tire. When I asked for clarification on pricing since I knew the tire cost was less then $150 I was given a quote with numbers that did not add up and immediately left. I will not stand to be taken advantage of because of my gender or age. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I went to discount tire and was given a better tire with a warranty for $140. read more

I have been using this Midas for some time for preventative maintenance and tires. They are fast, excellent, and friendly. When buying four expensive snow tires a year or so ago, they worked with me to find the best price and got me a better deal. With the snow flying, it was time to put on those snow tires this week. Despite being booked up all day, they suggested that I leave it and they'd "get to it today, just don't know when." They got it done two hours after dropping it off. That shows organization, hard work, and excellent customer service. read more

I had a bit of a shimmy in my SUV and thought maybe I needed to replace my struts. The mechanic called me and said that he noticed the shake too but everything looked good underneath and suggested I change my power steering fluid because that might help. I was prepared to get told I needed a ton of work but all they did was change the fluid and it performed better. I have not ever been told by a repair shop that I don't need to do work. This business is the epitome of a service that preys on customers that have no way of understanding what is really wrong with their vehicles. Because of the electronics and computers on newer cars and SUV's they need to put it on a diagnostic machine. Since you are into them for $50 they could and do tell you anything that is the longest most expensive path to repair. Their unethical approach to customer service leaves you at their mercy of which they have none. They practice up sale and misinformation to extract every dollar they think the vehicle is worth to you. All the while smiling, shaking your hand and saying they care. Notice that all their positive reviews are for minor repairs. Once you get past tire repair or brake work they hook you and could tell you anything, Stay away or pay dearly. Just went in to get my oil changed and they tried to cheat me out of paying $250+ for shit I didn't need. No thanks just change my oil. When I drove off I noticed a funky noise coming from my engine that it wasn't making before. I took it back the next day so they could look at it. After playing 100 questions they looked at it for 30-45 minutes and told me they "couldn't get it to make the noise again". Hasn't made the noise since. I may not know a lot about cars but I know when I've been cheated. Never coming back again. read more

If I could give 0 stars on a review this place would definitely deserve it. I brought my car here because my power steering was having problems and saw it was a AAA approved mechanic. I dropped my car off and left to go home because I didn't want to sit around and wait for them to do a diagnostic. I received a call with a quote for the repairs being $1500!! Being a college student there was no way that I could pay for that so I decided to take it else where. Midas told me that I needed a bunch of repairs (I.e. new power steering pump and rack, fluid flush, etc). I took my car to a different mechanic and they fixed the entire problem for $120!!! Midas just assumes that everything is wrong and everything needs to be fixed. I will never return to this store and I will never recommend them to anyone. Learn how to properly diagnose a problem with vehicles before just throwing ridiculous quotes at customers. I feel sorry for all of the suckers who have over paid at this shop. Took a vehicle in to have an dash light diagnosed and an oil change. They repaired a break line and exhaust manifold for what they told us it would cost for the 2 requested services. Never diagnosed the dash light or changed the oil and did not keep the replaced items so we could verify their work. Charged us 300% of the cost for the manifold from a dealership. In the process was told work was done that wasn't, they later clarified the repairs. Was put on hold numerous times, a couple of times for so long that I hung up. If you go here you need to go there to communicate and get everything in writing before approving the repair. read more

Amaturers. Brought my car in for a simple oil change last week. Tech forgot to put one of the gaskets back in. Drove my car around leaking oil and smoking. Brought it back in for 'repair' and they said they took care of the problem, yet a week later it's still smoking and dripping oil. So, on the third time in for the same repair, they manage to figure it out. I figured I'd put my snow tires on while they do this repair, which they tel me they'll put me in the front of the rose and have me sorted in an hour. 2 1/2 hours later I get my car back (second time I had to call out of work to bring the car back here). As I drive away I notice that now the car is pulling to the right. Took my tires to get checked by another mechanic and he assures me they're fine but my alignment is totally off, which was not an issue prior to bringing it in. Never using Midas again read more

Midas took my car on a Wednesday at 8:00 in the morning to fix a jolt while I drove. By 1:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday, I had yet to hear from them. I called for an update (they claimed to have left a voicemail) to be told that they think it's because the engine is moving too much but they don't know which engine mount to fix and to just fix all 4 of them - was given a $1500 quote. Whatever, fix it. Next day at 8:00 in the morning I call them again and was told that I would have my car back at 6:00 in the afternoon on Thursday. By Thursday at 4:00 in the afternoon I had yet to hear from them. I called for an update and was told that my car wouldn't be ready until midday on Friday. They have had my car for two days now. They have been good to us, letting us know what else was happening with the car, but not pressuring us to pay for more service. I took my car in to get new tires and two weeks later I recieved a PHOTO SPEEDING TICKET with not me in the driver's seat! No one but Midas had access to my car on the day of the ticket. A Midas employee drove my car 12 MILES OVER THE SPEED LIMIT in a residential area at 3:30 just as kids were getting off the bus! Don't entrust your car to this Midas -- they do not respect your vehiche and may take it on a joy ride/reckless test drive! To be fair, Midas did just call to let me know that they would put the cost of the ticket back on my credit card. I feel that they properly rectified the issue. However, I certainly will not entrust my car to them again. read more

Awful. Do not take your car here. I brought my car in for $89 break pads and they tried to talk me into $500 worth of inessential work. I chose to save a lot money by purchasing the parts at O'Reilley's and doing to work at home. To avoid a fee for the assessment of the brakes, I decided to get my oil changed for $20, which came with a free inspection. They did not ask me what kind of oil to use or consult any information about Pontiac Sunfires. They just used a synthetic oil. Since purchase of the car, we have changed the oil ourselves with conventional Penzoil brand oil. The switch to synthetic oil caused the sludge to break loose and clog the engine. The engine had a lubrication problem and caused a knock and spun rod bearings. Midas refused to take responsibility for anything, even though I had put very few miles on the car since the oil change. They did not screw on the oil filter very tight. It was so loose it could have fallen off. There were metal shavings in the oil. I had to replace the engine that only had 69k miles on it. A $20 oil change ended up costing me $2000 in a replacement engine. Do not risk your car or your wallet. Change your oil at home. Everything Midas touches does not turn to gold! read more

Very unhappy with service that I received here today. Brought in my car to get rear brakes and take advantage of $79.99 deal. Walked out of Midas at 11:08am being told that it would be a couple hours until they got my car in. 90 minutes later I called seeking information as to if they had looked at my car to quote me a price and what exactly would be done to my car. I was told that my car was not even in the shop yet, that there was one car ahead of me and it would be in the shop in an hour, then they would start the 30 minute overview to check out brakes. At 2:55, well over 3 hours since dropping off my car, I call again to get an update. I am told that my car was just taken into the shop and that within 15 minutes I should get a call to go over their assessment. 10 minutes later Midas called and quoted over $200 for one router, and two "ceramic" brakes with labor! So much for the $79.99 deal that included labor and brake pads. The ceramic brakes were $89.99 each, although I was informed I could go with cheaper ones at $39.99 each. After wasting 4 hours being dicked around and quoted incorrect times, it took Midas DOUBLE the amount of time they told me to even bring my car into the garage and start looking at it. Needless to say I refused work on my car and am currently looking for a different shop to take it to. read more

While the gentlemen That work there are very kind and professional, I was quoted $700 for something when it turns out my tire was just loose. I brought my car in after having it sit at the airport and it making a funny thumping noise. They quoted something very expensive was wrong so I went for a second opinion to my normal mechanic who was shocked when he heard Midas didn't realize that nothing was wrong except some loose lug nuts(guessing someone attempted to steal my tires while at the airport and gave up mid loosening) read more

Recently I took my car to this Midas location for an oil change and to replace two rear shocks. When I returned home from these services, the car was leaking. Upon further investigation, I realized that the bolt on my transfer case was overtightened resulting in a crack. After notifying this store about the leak, I was informed that they would not have touched the transmission plug and therefore would not fix the problem free of charge. I have spoken to both the store GM and the Midas Regional Manager, and both informed me that this situation is not their fault. I have been going his location for years, and it is unfortunate that this how they are treating their customers. read more

I took my car in for an oil change, they told me my struts were leaking, $1300 to replace all 4 of them. I took it to Hi Tech Auto just to get a second opinion. Turned out nothing was leaking and no replacement needed. They didn't even charge me for the inspection. Don't trust Midas for any high price quote on jobs don't need to be done. If you like your car, I wouldn't take it to this location. I have always had great experiences with Midas in the past, so when I recently moved to the area I searched for one nearby. The evening before my scheduled oil change, I noticed my heater was having difficulties heating up. I assumed since it was time for my oil to be changed I was probably low on coolant and asked they check the issue. (Please keep in mind I had never had an issue with my Jeep prior to this.) I received a call from Richard Hoke quoting me $1,200 for a gasket replacement or I was told I could spend $700 to replace the water pump and thermostat to extend the life of the gasket. I asked if this was an urgent issue as several people advised me to take it to a more qualified shop to get a second opinion for such a big repair. I was informed it was not a serious issue and that I would be fine to continue to drive my car as normal as long as I had plenty of coolant in it at all times. When I picked my car up, I confirmed with Richard that it was okay to continue to drive and even asked him to walk me to my car and show me what level to keep my coolant at. I left the Midas store to drop my car off at the other mechanic shop, and 12 miles after leaving the Midas store, MY ENGINE BLEW. I was completely shocked as Midas had assured me that my car would be safe to drive for quite some time and as this was the first issue I had ever had with this car. I called the shop to get their insurance information that my agent was requesting and once they realized I had an issue they were very short and rude with me. I was told I had to speak with Richard about my issue but I kept getting the runaround about why he was unavailable to talk. After the fifth call, he finally answered and acted like he didn't remember my car being there. Upon asking for the shop's insurance information his memory was very clear about my car and he became defensive and rude. He withheld any information or additional help. I can guarantee you that I will not be taking the new car I had to purchase to Midas for any service of any kind. read more

Seems my poor rating from months ago has disappeared, however, I brought my car in to this place with a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation. They didn't have a bay available to rotate tires (all empty) but they did the oil change. I needed to change out the differential fluid and couldn't believe my eyes as these jokers were siphoning the fluid from the bottle on the floor and almost jumping up to get it into the car on the lift. Oh, they "thought" I just wanted it "topped off". Anyway, today I took my car into a REPUTABLE repair shop because the oil was leaking from my oil change at Midas. Seems they put the oil filter in crooked. LOSERS. NEVER AGAIN. Stay away from this circus act. read more

I just moved to Denver and was on my way to work when my hood exploded with smoke. I opened it up only to find green liquid EVERYWHERE. Not being super car savvy I still knew my radiator was screwed! I called a few mechanic shops and could not find one empathetic or kind word for my situation. As soon as I spoke to Rich from Midas I knew I would be helped. I brought my car in that day, and they immediately helped me locate the problem. Needless to say it was a SUPER pricey fix. Young, poor, new to a city I felt hopeless. Richard worked with me and helped bring the cost down. As well they fixed is THE SAME DAY!! Not that my 99' Subaru is running perfect now. but it is still helping me get to where I need to go. Overpriced and not worth the money! my car broke down and out of desperation (convenient location) I had it towed to Midas. They fixed the problem in a NOT timely fashion (new fuel pump),my total was about 1100, which means they overcharged me by approx. $450 bucks *yikes*, and now the gas gauge is not working at all. WOW! On top of all of this they tried to talk me into more overpriced service, which I friendly declined. Stay away from this place!!!! read more

My 08' Yukon Denali recently seized up while driving on the I-25. I promptly had my vehicle towed to the nearest repair shop, Midas on 6th ave and Kalamath. I have had several positive experiences at other Midas locations, so I was happy with the proximity of this shop. After a $100 diagnostic fee (fair) Midas called me and told me that I had two options: the first was an engine rebuild at $5,000 or a completely new engine at $10,000. Although my car has 130,000 miles on it, I know enough to know that is not enough mileage to warrant an entirely new engine (unless I had never had the oil changed, ever). I informed Midas I would be towing my truck to the nearest dealership the next day. At that point financing was offered, "dollar for dollar it's cheaper," etc. questioning my decision for a second opinion. The dealership called me later that day and informed that it was a broken valve spring. The repair would be a total of $180 and would be ready next day. $10,000 vs. $180. I truly want to give these gentleman the benefit of the doubt that they were not attempting to take advantage of me because I am a young, woman, but the only alternative is utter incompetence. Either way take your car to the dealership....it could save you thousands. read more

Untrustworthy and dishonest. The epitome of sleazy mechanics. I have always had good experience with simple oil changes. So when hey called me and told me I needed two tires I didn't think anything of it. They quoted me a price and I said ok. Once I got there to pick up the car I had been charged a list of fees that were never listed over the phone. They claimed they had told me--- but trust me I would remember the fees because they would have stood out as being things I do not need. They charged me $25 for roadside assistance and were resistant when I asked them to take it off and I would assume responsibility. Then they charged me a $20 fee to turn off the tire notification signal on my dashboard. They had done it without my consent and did not deduct it. They claim "everyone charges it," but I know that's not true because the fantastic place I typically go (Amina Auto Repair) does not charge this fee, and Amina would never have such lackluster customer service. I never knew how great Amina was before I tried this place. Don't make the same mistake. Upon speaking with other people I found they had the same problem at the same place.
