I brought my car to Maj a week ago for a rubbing noise in my brakes. On my way there, my check engine light came on. He took the car for a ride with me to hear the noise, put it up on the lift and showed me exactly what the issue was, taking the time to explain the problem, show me defective vs. new parts and answer all my questions. He also noticed little things, like the heat shield bolts rusting letting me know that I might hear rattling soon and my rear tires put on backwards, which he corrected for me. Then he ran the code for my check engine light and ran through the possibilities and what he would do. I'm sure I could have sat in his office and waited but he was more than happy to have me right there - the transparency was refreshing! I was probably there for 30-45 minutes asking questions and he didn't charge me! Then when it came time to get it fixed, he was flexible with my schedule since I was local. He kept me informed on each step and possible issues, giving me all the worst case scenarios to be prepared for which can be a little scary but makes you prepared for it! When I went to pick it up, Maj showed me what he did under the hood, showed me the faulty part - again the transparency was appreciated! And his rates are very reasonable! I 'fact checked' all the information he gave me all along with a knowledgeable friend and it checked out! Maj is the real deal, a rare find these days! I'll be a customer for as long as I'm in the area!

I brought my 2010 Mini Cooper to Firestone Troy after the A/C suddenly stopped working and started blowing hot. I'd tried recharging it myself but got an overpressure reading, so I booked the soonest appointment I could. The staff were friendly and suggested adding dye during the recharge to check for leaks, which seemed reasonable. A few hours later, they let me know the compressor wasn't working and offered to run further diagnostics for an added cost. What caught me off guard was that they'd already completed the full evacuate and recharge -- even though the compressor wasn't engaging. I was told it had been necessary to identify the problem, but later realized that wasn't accurate. In the end, I paid $341 and left with no resolution. If the story ended there, this might have been a 1- or 2-star review -- so I encourage anyone who's had a less-than-ideal experience to follow up. In my case, given the chance, they absolutely made it right. I reached out to Firestone's corporate office via their website to share what happened. Since the service included a performance check, I felt the compressor issue should have been caught before moving forward with the recharge. Fortunately, my message was passed along to the right people, and TJ, the store manager in Troy, reached out to me directly. After I explained that I'd eventually traced the issue to a blown fuse, he gave it some thought and agreed a full refund made sense. I stopped by the shop later that day, and he credited my card on the spot. He also mentioned that he'd used the experience as a training opportunity for his team, which I really appreciated. Things don't always go perfectly -- but how a business responds matters. Thanks to Firestone corporate looping back to the branch, and TJ's professionalism and willingness to make it right, I left feeling heard and respected. I'd absolutely return and now feel good recommending Firestone Troy to others.

    I had an 8 AM appointment for an oil change. I parked the car in the alley because the lot for the…read moreshop was full of cars which I found out were yesterday's jobs as well as employee cars. I parked in the alley came in, handed over my keys to the store manager TJ and asked him if it was OK to park in the alley. He said absolutely. I'm going to get your car and pull it in right now so I left. At noon, I called to see what was going on with my car and they said they were busy and still working on it. Imagine my surprise when I went there at 3 PM to see what was going on in person and they let me know that my car had been towed. Instead of working on it as they said they would at 8 AM they went to look for the car at 3 PM and it was towed. I then got to experience the 6 foot three manager, screaming in my face that it wasn't his fault and I should not have parked there. I reminded him of our 8 AM conversation, which is when he said he would go get the car from the impound lot but he could make me wait until Monday if he wanted. He also told me to get out of the store and he refused any further service on my car. When he finally drove it back from the impound lot at 5 PM I found the parking ticket that was received crumpled and shoved into my console. So I went back into the store and let the manager know that he forgot his ticket. He told me it was not his problem. I needed to get out of the store and he didn't care about any of it. I obviously contacted corporate and opened a full file so that they could pay for the damages caused by the tow as well as the tow itself and the parking ticket. I definitely do not recommend this place unless you have nine hours and $250 for an oil change and tow. While we were there waiting for hours for this to be resolved, we saw customer after customer come in and become disappointed or upset with the news they received at the front desk. Made a request on the web site, got reached out to by a Service Advisor, discussed the standard service plus some extra things I needed addressed, got a quick quote and pick-up date. Pick-up went smooth, had it secure in the truck in 5 minutes. Clear communication throughout process re: parts and options. At drop-off I noticed a small error on the invoice that I mentioned to the driver who called Service and by the time I was back at my desk I got a call from Service Manager apologizing and letting me know the credit was already processed. Ben in sales texted me that the S1000RR left Germany a week prior and would be delivered and ready to pick up in two weeks. Based on this a deposit was made and purchase contract signed. Two weeks passed without any contact. Reached out and eventually got a text that it just left Germany and would be another 3-4 weeks minimum. Direct lies in writing. We cancelled the purchase on that bike and had a bike from Gold Coast BMW within a day. The M1000RR was in stock and Ben indicated that 3 months deferred payment financing, with no interest on the first 3 months, was available. I specifically asked if there were any fees, penalties, or interest if paid in full before end of 3 months. I indicated that I was only choosing this option to take advantage of the temporary free money and that otherwise I would just make the entire purchase. My questions were acknowledged and confirmed by Ben, no fees or penalties. I just went and paid off the amount before the 3 month date and there are $556.65 in finance charges for the three months. I have placed several calls to Ben to discuss and he has not returned my calls. For what it is worth the bikes are incredible! It is unfortunate that these amazing machines are peddled by a such a disingenuous and untrustworthy representative of the brand. Beware!
