About 2 weeks later the car developed an oil leak from the area of the crankshaft seal and or the timing cover as well as the front valve cover gasket, all of which he had to change. I paid James 900 dollars cash and I supplied the parts needed to do the job. Now after 2 weeks of text messages and 2 or 3 phone calls to my place of employment, James said he has not forgot about me. I have now taken the vehicle to another mechanic for the repairs. This review is not about Capital Tech itself but the mechanic. I am expecting these repairs to cost another 300 to 500 dollars on top of the almost 1600 parts and labor already spent. Fast forward to the day before New Year's EVE and I break down in Boston on the interstate, car shaking violently out of control. Told them there was no way I was driving back to Boston for garbage spark plugs and they refused to help me since. They did not touch my car while they had it, I even picked it up in the exact same parking spot that I left it in. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. I scheduled a follow-up appointment and dropped my car off first thing in the morning. After wasting an entire day waiting, I called at 4 PM only to be told they hadn't even looked at my car because they were "too busy." If that's the case, what's the point of making an appointment? Things only got worse from there. When I returned to the shop and expressed my concerns, staff openly used the F-word in front of me, complained about having to deal with the issue, and showed zero professionalism. Instead of standing behind their work, they suddenly claimed the noise was coming from somewhere else and that there was nothing they could do. Jaden was especially rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. If you don't know much about cars, don't expect clear or honest explanations. I paid $800, got the same problem back within three days, lost an entire day because my appointment was ignored, and was treated disrespectfully when I returned for help. Save your money. A special shout out to Chelsea front desk, Thomas, Gino the mechanic and Julian the manager. It was two days before Thanksgiving, we had just driven three hours to pick up my son from college and our starter died. Our car insurance had the tow drop us off at Firestone across the street from Mavis. Firestone said they had a full waiting room and it would be four days before they could even touch our car. Mavis was across the street, they also had a full waiting room, the mechanic kindly walked across the street, took a look at our car and gave us a few suggestions, that not only saved us $$$ money and they got us up and running in less than two hours. In addition, the crew organized to stop traffic while they and my sons pushed the car in neutral across the street, from the Firestone lot to the Mavis lot. If that is not full perfect customer service I don't know what is. We are so thankful to the Mavis team, I was able to get my family back home in time to make Thanksgiving dinner.
