I've been living 10 years now in Albany's Center Square, and I've had my share of parking tickets which were my fault. But one thing I do, is make sure and honor the temporary no parking signs in front of homes. Unfortunately, this time, the signs were not placed in the right locations, as should be, which is the homeowner's responsibility to remedy especially if someone removed them. I arrived home late last night from work and of course it was impossible to find parking. I saw an area with some, but there was a no parking sign for two spots in front of a home having construction done. I looked up two car lengths, and there was no sign in front of the tree in the open spot, so I took it. But there was another sign two spots up which I could not see, and even then, it was not for the location I was in. Seems like someone took down the sign that was in the middle. Anyways, next morning my Jeep is gone. Talk about being extremely upset, but this is Albany Center Square, and knowing how the parking is not the greatest for residents, I took a deep breath and sighed. The parking authority doesn't care about the residents when it comes to someone else's created problem. Anyways, since this was the first time, I didn't really know what to do. I callec the Albany Po Po, and they directed me to Capitol District Towing. I was concerned since my Jeep is old. But the lady at CDT was very helpful and apologetic, even though it wasn't her fault. I got there in time to get my Jeep, which was parked safely, and just like I left it. They looked like a class act, and will use them in the future for my towing needs. Hopefully, one that is not related to Albany Parking Authority towing it when they and the resident were the ones who were at wrong.

They had a reputation for helping people who were far from home. Connor came and towed our car. He was pleasant, affable, good-humored, indulgent, and his manner helped to put me at ease. He told me probably his boss would look at it in the morning and hopefully they could diagnose and fix it by the afternoon. That's exactly what happened. By late Saturday afternoon I paid a very fair price for the repair and towing, and drove away feeling tremendously lucky and grateful. The tow driver was very respectful when he got to our house which was 30 miles away. The driveway has a short incline. He showed concern about not damaging our driveway. He took the car off the bed and drove it up the driveway. I don't think you see that often. I think their price was worth it. I can't compare because we haven't had a need for a tow in years.
