The issue was caused by a lack of communication between runners bringing the part and between the staff that changed from Saturday to today, Monday. My only suggestion is perhaps receptionist/front office workers and mechanics better communicate timelines. They destroyed my wife's Volvo transmission trying to remove the CV joist. We had to tow it to another shop to replace the transmission and that ended up costing us $13,600. They also refused to cover the cost. We have pictures of the damages they did. Also video of them pushing the car out and being towed away after it was driven there. read more

I wish I could give a lower rating I ask for a oil change only to get 1.2 miles down the road and my oil pressure light is coming on and off I get out to promptly check my oil only to see though my engine bay a puddle of oil before even checking the stick that literally had a glistening on the metal but no oil, I then make my way to a Napa across the street and explain my experience and situation and that I need to be back in fairbanks tonight and that's a 300 mile drive, it's crazy I went to get a oil change and I left with less oil then when I came to get the oil change! if you can't change a oil filter then how could anybody rely on your business for an actual mechanics project, I hope I get a refund on the over 60 dollar oil change I paid for! read more

I took my mini cooper here last Jan for oil cooler leak but somehow when I pick up the turbo is not working, whit no explanation on how or why it got damage other than reassuring me that the vehicle is ok to drive is very suspicious. Performance I would give a 4/5. Tires were changed over as requested, but tire pressure was not even. Communication I would give a 2/5. I had my car dropped off for an appointment by 7:30 am when their doors opened and was told it would be 3-4 hours. I got a call at 6:30 pm that it was ready. Attempted several calls throughout the day to the same contact number that I used to book the appointment but each time I got an AI voice asking if I remembered "Alicia". I spoke with the manager when I picked up my vehicle and was informed that the number that was listed on Yelp, Google, and the Midas website was incorrect. I am not sure why this was the case but I think closer attention to business listings would go a long way, especially after they had received the same complaint a week earlier. The correct number is 9072761197. I understand that this is peak season and I will say that I appreciated them staying late to ensure that all appointments were finished today, but I wish that could have been communicated better. When you book here they will make sure that the job gets done, but be aware that booking an appointment only ensures that you will get your vehicle back that day. read more

Went in to get my exhaust pipe replaced. The job was way too pricey so i opted not to get it done here, and it took a significant chunk of my day to even find out how much it wouldve been. The tech didnt latch my hood down all the way so it popped up over the windshield when i picked up the car and caused some damage, which was frustrating. The good news is, the gal at the reception desk (her name was Tina, she was very pleasant to speak with and did a fantastic job helping me out) was very polite and helpful and the shop is going to cover the repair and replacement for the damage caused free of charge. Summary: Unaffordable repair for what i actually went in for, the shop caused unnecessary damage to my vehicle, but they were very willing to fix the mistake and handle the repair for damage caused free of charge to me. read more

Let's get started with Tina at the front desk. This young lady is a customer service beauty. In today's marketplace customer service is a lost art and this girl could teach a class. She is polite and knowledgeable and so very professional. She stayed in touch with me through the day letting me know what was going on with my breaks and with any changes that were found. When I had realized that I had left my granddaughters car seat in the truck she made sure I could get it right away. When I couldn't make it before closing, she said she would stay late if needed so that I could get my truck that day. In a world where customer service has been forgotten she is a rock. I would bet that this Midas store gets a lot of return business because of her. She deserves a pay raise for sure. I posted about my car being "repaired" by Midas earlier. We paid over $!400 for repairs. When we received back it was leaking and over heating, we returned to Midas. They immediately blamed a hose on the radiator that must of blown off after picking it up from repairs. I got a call saying radiator hose was frayed, that's why it's taking extra time. I said ok, they then stated I said I didn't want to pay extra money to replace it. I never said don't replace it, I'm already paying over$1400 to repair it, why would I say no?? This was explained over the phone to me. Then a coworker stated I said I didn't want to pay extra for a hose. He stated he was standing by the lady who called me and heard my answer. He said "I was standing by her listening, I was there!" I stated I was also there directly speaking to the lady. He then was angry and stated in disgust, " there are so many things wrong with that car anyways!". Like it wasn't worth repairing. I was clearly upset, they both stated if you continue to be upset we'll not remedy this situation. You will take your leaking car after you paid over $1400 in "repairs" They threatened to not fix their mistake! I immediately contacted corporate, they said "no the workers were wrong saying they won't take the car back to look at it again, because they want recurring customers. They took car back fixed the hose but told us the car was bad. They had to throw that line in. Never again. read more

I took my Toyota RAV 4 to Midas on Bragaw st in Anchorage to switch out my tires. The tire pressure light was on when I picked up my vehicle when the work was done. I was in a hurry when I picked up my vehicle and I thought it would go away when I correct the tire pressure. So I did not go back and have them correct it. Then, I checked the tire pressure when I get home that day, the tire pressure was all good. Then, I thought the sensor needs to be reset during my routine maintenance to make the warning light goes away. I took it to Kendall Toyota for routine maintenance and the technician told me that one of my tire sensor was missing and it would cost $152 to install a new one. It's been over a month since I took my vehicle to Midas on Bragaw st. I know I have nothing to prove the light came on right after the service provided by Midas. I hope people reading the review would be cautious when they take their vehicle to this Midas or any other tire services shops. And I hope to bring those bad services into light so the company will have a chance to improve the quality of their services. read more

I have waited to write this review as I contacted their support they constantly tell bad review to go to and never got a response so I'm writing the review now. I brought my car in with no codes or errors just to get the car aligned as I had a slight pull to the left. I had an appointment and ended up having to wait 4 hours before anything even got done and within 15 minutes someone came out and said they would not be able to align it how they normally would due to it needing to be taken apart to be aligned and then was told it would be an additional $700 to get it properly aligned. When I declined to pay that much assuming they did not try to align it since it would take more time and money was told I still needed to pay $160 since they attempted to align it normally anyways. I tried to tell them I was not going to pay if they didn't actually do anything but then was told they claimed to fix the pull and the steering wheel just wouldn't be aligned. I wasn't going to argue with them and not get my car back so I paid, took my keys, and went to my car. As soon as I got in my car my steering wheel needed to be turned 45° left in order to drive straight and still had a pull. On top of that I was then getting error codes for trailer stability assist, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability assist problem, and power steering system problem. I ended up going to alignment center and they were able to fix not only the pull but were also able to center the steering wheel again and reset the codes. When I was asked where I took it previously alignment center said they have no idea what midas did to get the codes to pop up as it would have meant they messed with some of those systems. Would never recommend Midas to anyone because they not only don't know what they are doing but will greatly try to up charge any "work and repairs" they claim they do. If you need work other I'd recommend elsewhere read more

Midas Technician LEFT my key in the truck and someone stole it broke the while steering wheel apart and tried to hotwire it. Ironically I brought it in because the steering wheel was broken so the truck tried to get stolen 2 times. But at midas it got fucked up. I took my car in for an oil change on Saturday. The oil change turned into all new tires and brakes. I wasn't going to make it for pick up by the time they closed and they're closed on Sundays so I had to pick up first thing Monday morning. When I asked the gentleman on the phone if that would be ok he said absolutely, no problem. I came in this morning to pick it up to find my window had been smashed and some camping gear had been stolen. The manager was very nice but informed me this happens quite frequently and he's "always running them off." I have no problems with the service I get here. They've always been super nice and not pushy about services. However, if this is an ongoing problem it may be a good idea to warn customers. Had someone said "it can stay here but we don't have room to store it inside and we have a problem with break ins in the area" I would have teleported if I needed to to make sure I was able to pick my vehicle up. This is more of a PSA than a review. Again, i've always had great service here and the people are friendly but wouldn't recommend leaving it overnight for any reason. I had an excellent experience with this Midas! Gail was super friendly on the phone, answering all of my questions before I made an appointment to get my brakes looked at. She was smiling and energetic when I came in for my appointment. Again, she answered all my questions and helped me feel confident in my decisions for service. I got a phone call an hour or so later with an estimate for the work to be done, which I thought was a very reasonable amount, considering the amount of work. I expected my car back the following day, but got a phone call the same afternoon letting me know my car was ready. I thought I got value for my money. My car rides smooth, brakes don't squeak, alignment is straight, everything I asked for. I will absolutely use this shop again. read more

I've been hesitant to write this review.. because I just couldn't believe it myself.. but, I finally decided to share my experience. I went in for a simple oil change about a year or so ago and when I got my car back, I realized my locks were not working from the inside and out. They worked on my car, ran tests, then told me they'd have to order a very expensive part to fix my car... but, will give me a good price. Something wasn't right... my car was perfectly fine before going to Midas. I decided to go to Nissan to get a second look. Apparently, a cord or something for my auto start was detached. All that was needed to be done was to put it back together. It was a quick fix.. no parts needed to be ordered. But how that happened while doing an oil change confuses me. When I asked Nissan about that, they were confused as well. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I was clueless about oil changes and cars in general. And I showed it. I hate to think they saw an opportunity to take advantage of me. I absolutely do not believe they did not know what was wrong with all the tests they did and for how experienced they are. Two week ago I came in get my tire fixed, my driver side front tire flat. Today, same tire flat. took my Tundra in was told the tire flat is not what they replaced. i asked why did someone from your shop told me what they did, rotate them and new one goes in the back. how would I know??? Then I get another call that my bolts on tire broken. dont make senseless because I bought new ones last month. I don't recommend going to Midas at Debarr. I went here for an oil change today. They got it done fast, like 30 minutes. The guy at the counter didn't try to upsell me to synthetic, and actually explained that going from synthetic to conventional oil doesn't damage your power train, that was a myth to keep you on synthetic. When I went to pay, the guy noticed my USAA credit card, and told me there was a military discount, and then because he was in a good mood, gave me a double discount. Got there 10 am drop the car for changing the tires from summer to winter plus alignment. Person who worked on front desk is not cape-able of customer service at all. He wasn't clear with price. He wasn't clear when will it be done and their worker in the shop are just walking deads they have no energy for the day all of them walks like they are out of their body. Super slow service I got call at 4.36 from them after 5 plus hours on Saturday it wasn't even busy. Apparently if you know someone who works on Midas they all come out and drop what they do and help family member or something. While I was waiting outside my car to be finished. They called at 4.36 after 6 hours just clarifying changing 4 tires and alignment. Why does it take such a long time. It was a shame. Also when I got there to pay the guy at the desk told me it's over $200? In the morning he said $130 you must be clear with your price when I come there next time if something happens again I will find a way to defense myself. Whoever sees this you should come as a supervisor or manager check that store as a civilian and see how shitty your workers. read more

Upon buying a pre-owned Dodge Ram 1500, that was inspected by two mechanics. We purchased it. We noticed that our brake fluid was low. Myself and four year old daughter took the truck in to have the brake fluid topped off or changed. I was talked into a brake inspection by the service manager, Levi Lanning. My mind was blown, and immediately called my husband and put him on the phone with Levi Lanning, he informed my husband that the repairs needed would be close to $1000.00. Now remember, the car was just inspected days ago by two mechanics, were there was nothing wrong with the brakes, and the vehicle rode impeccable. My husband told Levi Lanning over the phone do not service the car, put it back as is, and that we would discuss having the repairs done. My husband knew that something was not right. Today at 10am, my husband got in the truck to go to a hospital. Reversing the truck was almost impossible. The front right brake was also locking. There was a burning smell None of these issues were happening before I took the truck to Midas. I believe that this is not the first time that this has been done to someone. We contacted the corporate office and found out that this particular Midas is privately owned. So I contacted the owners of the Midas on 1255 South Bragaw Street, where upon there was no apology, no remorse, nothing, This review is to find out if there is anyone else out there that has experienced the same service that I have, and to tell Alaskan residents not to go to this store, because if they would endanger a family's life to make a buck, they would do it to anyone. read more

We've been here a few times and things have always been great! We got two tires plugged here and it was like we never had a hole in either of them! We still have one of the tires and it's perfect! Got stuck in Anchorage bad alternator they installed alternator but did not inspect the serpentine belt which they were suppose to do and the mechanic that did the work checked it off on the paper work that he did.I got back home which is 50 miles from Anchorage and looked at the serpentine belt it was all dry rotted it could have broke on my way home and I would have been stranded. read more

I am shocked and am deeply concerned about my recent tire purchase at Midas. I let the front desk know that I wanted to keep the old tires that were on my car. INSIDE my car were 4 studded tires that the tire guys TOOK OUT and tried to keep. These weren't even the tires that were on my car. The tire guys had returned my old tires (that were on my car being replaced by the new tires) inside my car. There was ABSOLUTELY no reason for my studded tires to be taken OUT of my car. Luckily I discovered the missing tires and the tire guy said that they were old. (I recently sold them for a good price!) I asked him why he even took them out of my car. No answer. I did contact Jeff, the Midas owner 3 different times~ yet to date have not had a conversation with him. I will not use MIdas ever again. read more
