I've been meaning for a long time to update my review for KD... less than 6 months after…read morepurchasing my special order rims here the black paint inexplicably started flaking off. My husband and I both have jobs that are difficult to get off of during the week. Since KD isn't open during the week, this has been a perpetual challenge. Additionally, we are a single car family and my husband needs the car for his job, so its almost impossible for us to address things that we don't feel are very important. Were we pissed? Absolutely. But it was esthetic, so lesson learned. But KD had promised us free tire changes with the life if the tires due to our purchase of custom rims, so we figured we would cut our losses since 2 changes a year equals over $200 a year. We figured KD was nice and they had earned customers for life with service like that. We liked the idea of buying bougie rims and tires her for our baby. Fast forward to our first seasonal change. Everything went fine. We have the receipt to prove it. But subsequent efforts to schedule a change over proved too challenging due to our work schedules so we stopped going here. Periodically we would call to see if they ever added weekend hours just during the seasonal tire over time, but sadly no. You'd think maybe they would do a Tuesday-Saturday thing or something.... but nope. Anyway, that's not what was the clincher that pissed me off. Finally in 2025 my husband has some seniority at work and is able to get a day off during the week off and drops the car off for the seasonal change over. And when he picks it up they charge him. And when he reminds them about our rims and their policy they refuse to honor it. What makes it worse is he posts his concerns Yelp, he gets a PHONE CALL from KD asking him to retract his review and they don't acknowledge that they every had a policy regarding free mounting and balancing. I call bullshit. I have the damn receipt. You can't put tires on a car without mounting and balancing. That's idiotic. Are you used to dealing with people who have no knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance?!?! I really thought this was one of the few quality vehicles places in town and am very disappointed to learn that is just another bunch of crooks who lie and swindle. There's nothing discount about this place. You want discount, go to Costco or something. I am the kind of person that prefers to support smaller business and pay a little more. But not if I'm gonna get lied to and cheated. Fck that.

I called here to get a quote on a set of ALL SEASON tires, dude was already sarcastic with me when I asked if they sell tires! All I had was the tire size details and he asked me, "what type of vehicle is it?" I said, "I do not know, I think it's a Chevy Malibu.." and he then, in an irate tone followed up with, "is it an LS, or LE....blah blah blah" mind you, I had already gotten quotes for a set of tires from 3 other shops in town prior on the size alone....this dude is acting like he needs my VIN number to give me a quote. So I finally replied, "it's okay si, I'll call somewhere else. I only have the tire size." And he snaps back smartly, "well theyre gonna ask you the same thing" and I snapped back, "no it's not, I just got off the phone with 3 other shops " and what do you know! He goes quiet, and finally decides to ask what my tire size is! Isn't that funny? Anyways, I told him my size and that I wanted all season tires. At this point, I already know I'm not buying even a FUNNEL or a TOWEL from these people....but might as well finish the call right? Dude is like, "you do know all season tires are summer tires correct?" Like no sh** Sherlock, i want all season tires so I can keep them on all season, its in the name! I dont need you to break down what it means, do your job I know hes just power tripping cause i checked his snooty a** earlier. For a business, they sure don't like to make money! Anyways, I'm used to this type of snarky behavior as a WOMAN but I would not recommend this place for ANYBODY! If I could give y'all a zero I would! I thought the price was fair considering what the tires retail for. They didn't have them in retail but I was able to get an appointment about 10 days after my initial visit. The staff was very professional and friendly. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews, but my experience was overall very positive. I waited about 45 minutes longer than I was expected to, but it appears they operate on a first come first serve basis for customers showing up at opening. I was third in line so all together, I was in and out in about 1 hour 15 minutes.

This was my 1st time coming to this company and my last time after witnessing this lady getting yelled at and this lady trying to make herself look like she was in charge as the owner showed up. She even said you need to tell this lady you have me in charge. I didn't think it was appropriate for her to get into her face or yell at every paying customer paying for their own tires here. Next year I'm going somewhere else. Because if that was me I would've walked away but this lady handled it so good and professional. After we all got checked in I approached this lady and asked if she was OK. She said yes. This was totally uncalled for how it was handles. Called 7/16 for a quote, called back 7/21 (no answer) and 7/23 (answered). On the phone, he said "next week" he could see my car and I'm like great! He says to text him my information and car troubles, so I did that same day. Didn't receive any type of communication for almost a week until today (7/30), I was still open to working with him until he offers me a slot and takes it away in less than 3 hours. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate, considering he didn't get back to me for almost a week. Then he hearted the message which seemed petty. Also here's a tip: don't talk to your customers like they're a burden and wasting your time (by your tone) because obviously I wasted my time with you.

The process is all a little bit less stressful now though. The prices and rates seem to be pretty similar, and the main focus seems to be on subscriptions. Definitely give them a shot if you're in the area and need a spring wash!

Alaska Tire Service has been my trusted choice for the past couple of years. They offer appointment scheduling, which means quick service, and their team is always friendly and professional. A few years ago, I had a flat tire repaired at a different tire shop, but it ended up going flat again. When I brought it to Alaska Tire Service, their mechanic discovered that the previous repair had been done with a temporary fix instead of a proper one. First I'd like to say that I have bought at least 15 sets of tires here. I won't buy another set! My husband made an appointment to buy ANOTHER set and have them mounted this week. He got tied up at work and called to tell them that I would come in, With my tires that I bought there last spring, for his appointment and that he would reschedule his. NOPE...they refused to mount mine...said they would only use it for a new tire purchase. NO CUSTOMER service! I have bought my last set of tires from them! read more

When you want to support a local business but then you go in to buy from them, three people at the desk and none of them even bother to acknowledge him. One guy sitting there doing nothing, the girl sitting there complaining how loud the phone ringer is to the other guy. Not even a "we'll be right with you" or "just give us a minute". Finally we just gave up and left, we will go to American tire were they will at least greet a person walking in. read more

A simple question and bare minimum care could get them a lot further in business, but it's safe to say I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Trust me, they won't miss you either. The company made an agreement with me to change the tires over on two of my trucks and when I went in to pick the first truck up, the counter guy I originally dropped the truck off with made a "B line" out of the side room stormed past me picked up the keys threw them at me and said; "We'll never do business with you again!" and stormed off. Thereby breaking our agreement to change the tires on the second truck. The only interaction I had with this guy was to drop the truck off and to pick it up.

After installing my winter tires and mounting the TPMS, the local mechanic discovered that the TPMS will not work. After explaining the situation to one of the staffs at Six Robblees' over the phone, the supervisor immediately coordinated with Big O' Automotive (another great place) and arranged my TPMS replacement at Big Old Automotive free of charge at the next day. I am very satisfied with their service and will have no reservation recommending it to anyone.
