HORRIBLE experience with the tire changeover this year through Flat On the Spot (Anchorage company). The tire changeover resulted in large, deep gouges around the perimeter on all four rims. I messaged the owner, Jason Woscek, who never responded to me but sent his "lead employee" to my home to inspect my rims and assess the damage. I was told by his employee that all four rims would need to be replaced, and he further stated, "that is why the company has insurance". He took photos and said he would talk to the Owner, Jason Woscek. It was then relayed to me from the employee that Jason said I could simply "leave it as is" or he would talk to someone about powder coating the rims. The damage occurred on October 21st. I have heard nothing from the Owner directly, except one return text message that said "working on it" as he continues to blow me off and ignore the situation. While it is completely understandably that mistakes are made, what is not understandable is the lack of professionalism by the Owner of this company. The Owner has now ghosted me. read more

Wow! Amazing service, super prompt and responsive, and extremely professional and kind. Started my day off on the wrong foot with a flat this morning, called Flat on the Spot at 8:11am, got a call back by 8:29am, was told there were two people before me and they tech would be there as soon as possible. The technician called at 9:02am to say he was on the way and showed up about ten minutes later! If that wasn't impressive enough, all was said and done by 10:05am. Got the tire patched and the rest of my tires aired up. SO WORTH the extra money to have them come to you. It was actually less than I thought it would be too. Very convenient. I had a horrible experience with this place. They double charged our card and we were given the run a round each time we called. Never received a call back as promised or any resolution options. I had to dispute the charge with my bank which takes about 20 days to get your money back. We had a patch put on two tires and they took $250.00 out of our account. I could of just bought brand new tires and paid for a tow. I will never use them again and would definitely not recommend. read more

I would have given them 0 stars for the rudeness and absolute un professional attitude. We dropped off a lawnmower tire and tube to be put together. We were told they would call when done, no call came and it was nearing closing time. We showed up and the tire was ready. However, the charge was $45, for installing a tube in a lawnmower tire in which we provided the tube. After commenting on the high price the young lady clerk stated, " If you don't like the price you can do it yourself!" This was directed at my elderly father. Well this guy probably saw me as a sucker because I had a nice old classic car. I needed a new intake put on , new carburetor installed and new distributor dropped in. I had all the parts except the intake gasket pretty much. Well it seemed like he knew what he was talking about but boy was I wrong. "Full service Auto repair?" I don't think so dude. You need to stick to scamming people on your old this tire is not repairable line. So I totally made the mistake of leaving my car with these jokers. Big Mistake. First off I never received one update on how much this guy was charging me. They put too much gasket sealant on the gaskets (now I have an vacuum leak) hissing and won't even run right. Not sure how you could charge some almost 2,500 dollars and look me in the eye and have your "head mechanic" say softly to me. Hea do you have full coverage insurance , that will cover a tow out of here. This is the same mechanic that couldn't figure out why my hood wouldn't shut. The wiring harness, took me about 10 seconds to realize and fix myself right there. Don't get me wrong I believe the mechanic did try his best and my engine is not stock by any means but the new shop owner is a total lier and a scammer. Yes I had to get it towed out of the tire repair shop I later realized it was just a tire repair shop. I've actually heard great things about the old owner after finally doing my home work on this place. But the new shop owner did let me know he had to replace my battery to the tune of 200 dollars I later found out when I got the bill because it "was leaking" strage I didn't notice that. More likely because you don't know how to put in a distributor or have the correct tools to adjust one. He charged me 478 dollars to "adjust distributor" when I asked him and the "lead mechanic" if they used a timing light. Silence... they did not even own one!! How the hell are you going to charge someone almost 500 dollars to drop a distributor and you don't even own a timing light?? So after killing my poor battery due to intake leak and being way out timing the guy just slaps in a new one. Says mine was leaking. Lie So not only are these guys really imcompident but flat out liers. You should change the name of your place to that dude. FLAT OUT LIERS So after I get it towed out of there (thank god) after paying two and a half thousand dollars ! I get it to a real mechanic. This shop owner couldn't believe it, this was THE THIRD PERSON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT FLAT ON THE SPOT in the last few weeks! I felt so foolish and helpless at this point. I was scammed by some dude who had no clue what he was doing or the proper tools. I guess the distibutor was way out of alingment and obviously intake gasket was not the right size and even put on correctly. The owner tried to tell me my car was overheating because my electric fan was not facing the right direction. Which was another false statement. I would avoid this place all together. My wife was so upset she's currently gathering paperwork for a small claims lawsuit. Good luck dude, evidently word is already out how you are just a horrible mechanic / person. Both the person who booked the appointment and the guys who did the changeover were kind and respectful (not the treatment that I'm used to getting when calling about things for my vehicle). My car wouldn't start after the last cold snap, couldn't get it to turn over. Called Flat on the Spot and they sent a tow truck over 11/18 to pick it up. I heard nothing for several days so I finally called in and they said they would let me know. Finally got a call that they had to replace the battery and that it had clogged filters/needed a tune up. The next day I was given the ok to pick up and when I get there it was out front running super choppy. They charged me $1280 and he told me the detergent they added to fuel system would make it run choppy for a few days as everything cleaned out. Ok, I am not a mechanical person so I left, stopped to top off my tank as instructed, and went home. By the time I got home I had a terrible headache and the engine was making a bad clanging noise. The next morning I had to drive it 5min away and again with the clanking and the terrible headache was back. I left it running thinking to keep it warm. We realized the headache was being caused by strong gas fumes INSIDE the vehicle as well as outside. It was still running very rough as well. So I sent a text on Saturday to the Flat on the Spot saying something isn't right. It is clanking badly, still running horribly, and the gas fumes are making it dangerous to sit in. I finally got a message back on Monday saying basically they didn't do anything that would cause a clanking noise and that I must have a hole in my floorboard letting fumes in and that I should just bring it back in and they could let me know how much the new issues would be to fix. Uh...NONE of these issues were present when they first took the vehicle so I knew whatever was wrong definitely happened there and they already charged me almost $1300 for it! So I called another mechanic. He looked at it said something was definitely wrong, took it back to his shop and within 2hrs found that Flat on the Spot put the spark plugs and wires in wrong causing it to misfire and have major issues! I personally believe (and I could be wrong but I really seems like I am not...) that they knew they were working with someone who doesn't know mechanics and thought they could easily take advantage of. So they overcharged me for something I was told was absolutely necessary (even though on the receipt is just says its suggested but not necessary) and incorrectly installed something easily fixed but caused horrible issues so that they could charge more for whatever they decided to tell me was wrong with the vehicle! I most definitely do not recommend using this place! People are always saying its hard to find an honest mechanic and this is exactly why. read more

We used their mobile service last Fall and although it cost a little more, we got all 3 of our family's vehicles changed at one time that was convenient for us. That being said, one of my tires was pinched when it was put back on the rim. I learned this after I drove on it, and it went flat. I tried to contact Flat on the Spot, but they were temporarily out of business, moving to a new location. I had to buy 4 new tires. So I am not happy with this company. read more

I emailed for an appointment with no response for a week, so I used Facebook to make an apt. It was the weekend so no response I till an hour before apt. I replied and then the apt time passed. I finally had to call. They came, it took them 3 hours (4 tires to swap and two flats to fix) and they could not fix the pin hole in my lightly used BFG KO2 $1400 tires. They tried multiple times to up sell 4 new ones for more than other shops. I then checked and they left the tire at 75 psi, max is 80, when the other three tires are at 40 psi. Called and they didn't care, said it was policy to go 5-10 psi under max, although admitted they should have checked the other tires. They charged me for flat repair and didn't fix it and could have caused an accident with th extreme tire pressure difference. Won't go to them ever again. Should have know better. read more

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with this company. Got my appointment scheduled at 3pm today for tires change over. 10 mins into the appointment, nobody showed up. I called the office, lady said that technician is running late, but he will be there. Well I get that stuff happens, so I keep waiting. An hour goes by, still nothing. I got a call from technician 2.5hrs later, when I wasn't able to answer my phone. I called back the office, same lady picked up the phone, and no apology for this mix up, just a dry "well we tried to contact you". Yeah 2.5 hours later :D I always apologize even when I'm 5mins late haha She offered to reschedule the appointment, but nuh I don't like to be stood up haha just be nice! I unfortunately had a bolt puncture my back right tire last night. I called Flat the Spot this afternoon and they had a technician here within the hour. The woman who answered the phone was very polite and took the time to find out what i needed exactly. The technician called me when he was 10 minutes away which was very helpful . Eric was wonderful. He was prompt, polite, and very knowledgeable. He even removed my punctured tire from the rim for me! He also took the time to look at my other tires and recommend an alignment. He priced out new tires for me as well. I highly recommend Flat on the Spot. I'll request Eric by name the next time I need any help with my tires. My experience at Flat on the Spot was one of the most disappointing transactions I've had in a long time. I recently paid over $100 to have my oil changed there. The price seems a bit steep to me, but I hadn't asked the price ahead of time so that's on me. Shortly after, I left on vacation and when I returned there was a puddle of oil under my car. A bit of investigation revealed that the new filter installed by Flat on the Spot had been installed without the rubber gasket that should have come with the filter. I took a side-by-side picture of the newly purchased filter (with gasket) and the filter installed by Flat on the Spot (missing the gasket) into the shop and asked to speak to the manager. I wasn't angry; mistakes happen, but I wanted them to be aware so that the same mistake wasn't repeated. The manager (owner?) asked me if there was a problem so I gave him a synopsis of the issue and showed him the picture. He just stood there looking at me, so I told him that I had lost a lot of oil and wanted my oil topped off. He looked up the type of oil needed, turned to an employee and told him to top off my oil. That was that. Not even an apology, much less any recognition of the fact that I had spent over $100 for such shoddy workmanship. I was very calm and polite during the entire discussion, but got the sense that the manager couldn't care less about my waste of money or inconvenience. Admittedly, the shop was very busy because it was the day after the first snowfall of the year, but anyone interested at all in customer service would have at the very least taken two seconds to offer an apology. I am not in the habit of leaving bad reviews when a business disappoints me; I prefer to allow the opportunity for a business to correct their mistakes. Flat on the Spot failed big time in that category and I won't be shy about telling others about my experience. I like to see local small businesses thrive but something tells me that with the low quality performance and terrible customer service I experienced, thriving is not in Flat on the Spot's future. read more

EXTREMELY UNETHICAL BUSINESS!!!!!!! Used them a couple of times for tires. That was ok. Wife's Chevy Aveo started running rough. Thought I would give them a try at service. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! Was quoted a list of code errors from diagnostics and repairs needed at $600. Gave the ok. Not even two hours later vehicle was ready. Thought it was strange it didn't take longer. Was told the engine light was still on but was running better and would need a $400 special order part to clear last transmission code. Paid and left with vehicle and it was running just the same as when I dropped it off. Returned and asked why I just paid $600 for a repair job that made no difference to the way the vehicle ran. Was given lame excuses and told the $400 part might make it better. Took it to the Chevy dealer who repaired it correctly for $300 and they found no code error for transmission. Stopped by to tell the owner and he acted like he could care less. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! read more
