I've been a customer of Mount Joy motors for almost a decade and they used to be a decent business…read morebut lately they have gone downhill. In the last 6 months I had to have a full brake job (rotors, pads, calipers) done twice because they claimed the brand new calipers they had put on were defective. The caliper ruined the pad and rotor as well. Then they charged me an extra hours labor to "diagnose" what the problem was. Of course it wasn't there fault and they did nothing to help the situation. Then this past week I tell them my car doors panel is coming loose and that I thought the clips were holding it together.. apparently it was something else that they told me about AFTER completing the job without fixing what was wrong. Within days the new clips all break and the door panels falling off again. I call them back and am told by the secretary that she would discuss it with the manager and call me back. No call. I called back later only to find out his answer was no and once again somehow I, the customer, am to blame and they would not refund me the $55 they charged me to put on several door clips and do it the right way. These people are rude and just want your money. I saw another report on here that stated the same thing so I guess that's just how they do there business now. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.. Stay away from this place!

They honored their web price. I got a fair price for my trade, which they eventually bumped up by $500. The big sticking point was the height of the Colorado and would it fit in my garage. It was late when I got there and they were about to close after the test ride. This was basically a done deal so long as it would fit in my garage. Finally the Sales Manager agreed for me to take it home. It fit and I returned the next morning to sign the paper work. The only thing negative I can say is that they wanted me to sign and pay before taking it home. When they realized I was about to walk, they said take it home and come back.

Sal was very sweet and soon after I paid for the vehicle and we left together to the notary to transfer the title. Only at this point did I ask myself why is there this little "button" on the dash and I curiously pressed the "button" and what do you know it was a sticker blocking the check engine light. I literally asked Sal if the vehicle had any codes when it came in and if he scanned for cleared codes and he assured me there were no codes and both he and his mechanic looked it over and scanned it. I immediately drove to Advanced Auto a few minutes away and they scanned it and there were some pretty severe codes P219b, P0480,P0456. What a nasty and shameless thing to do to put a sticker over the check engine light and try to scam a family with little children. When I was paying him cash he counted out the cash and put aside $100 bill and said I think you paid me $100 extra. I knew I didn't because I triple counted. What a lousy trickster. That wasn't a mistake of an honest man wanting to return the extra money that was a calculated maneuver to demonstrate integrity and trustworthiness. They literally tried to charge me double the entire value of my vehicle by copying and pasting a standard menu of high-margin maintenance items that had absolutely nothing to do with why I brought the car in. They tried to stack on: A transmission fluid flush for $460 A drive belt service for $440 Front suspension work for $1,741 Rear shocks for $666 A valve cover/vacuum pump for $742 Worse yet, their $968 diagnostic conclusion to replace the throttle body completely ignores the classic textbook symptom of a car stalling specifically after getting gas--which points to a simple, cheap EVAP purge valve issue. They are clearly more interested in maximizing profit margins by rewriting the maintenance history on older vehicles than actually doing honest, pinpoint diagnostics. They charged me an $190.01 diagnostic fee just to hold my keys hostage while presenting this ridiculous $5,200 bill. I declined every single thing and walked away.
