As a long-standing customer of Mircocenters I am once again delighted about the service and expertise I received from Renee and her staff. I had a PC with Windows 7 that Renee built for me a few years ago and it was not functioning properly. Renee and her crew cleaned all the viruses and malware, and installed Windows 10. Wow, what a difference!! They were also able to save all my documents, data and settings so my transition was very easy! My Windows is now up to date; no more stalling; no more lockups. I was really intimidated initially about changing to Windows 10, but Renee was kind enough to spend some time with me going over the changes in Windows 10 and I am now growing accustomed to it. Microcenters has built three PCs for me over the years, and repaired and cleaned up several laptops. The service is always top-notch, and the prices are very fair. Renee helped me a year ago when my laptop had been unsuccessfully "repaired" by two other IT people. She did a great job and introduced me to a couple of free programs to protect against some of the malware that had gotten into it in the past. When my cat sprayed the screen this year, that was the end of it, the screen had a few convulsions and went black. Fortunately, the damage did not get to the hard drive and I was able to purchase a refurbished Toshiba from Microcenters and they had it totally cloned with my information within a day. All I can say is wow. I'm not a fan of hyperbole (this is my first review on Yelp) but the service I received from microcenters of georgia was so exceptional I felt I had to let more people know of this hidden gem. For anyone who has ever had the horror of trying to repair a badly damaged computer or, like me, external HDD, please read on. I'm a second year law student and my external HDD died 3 weeks ago. I solicited 7 different computer repair retailers--everyone from Microcenter.com, not to be confused with Microcenters of Georgia, to computerrepairatlantastore.com--and the cheapest price I found for a hard-drive recovery/repair service for was $125, some as high as $550, and that did NOT include the cost of a new hard-drive (the data was salvageable but the hard-drive itself was not). Note to anyone reading this: Most hard-drive recovery/repair prices only show the minimum cost of recovery/repair and, as I experienced first-hand, do not include the price of diagnostics, the price of a new hard-drive you will have to buy if your hard-drive is damaged beyond repair, and the price of recovering higher and higher bytes of data (e.g. recovering 200GB of data is cheaper than, for example my situation, 600GB of data). I went to a computer repair retailer, whose name I shall withhold out of respect, off of Acworth Due West Rd and they priced the data recovery at $250 and that didn't even include the price of a new HDD I would need to put the recovered data on! (They even told me they couldn't recover all the data...and that was after I paid $50 for diagnostics). After reading the two negative reviews on here I was a bit apprehensive of calling Microcenters but I did so anyways because all the retailers I previously solicited were far too expensive; I figured I had nothing to lose. Not only did Renee, the president of the business, underprice every other retailer I solicited prior, but she included a brand new 1TB external hard-drive WITH the recovery service. I assumed it would be too good to be true and that for such a FANTASTIC deal there would be strings attached--perhaps they would cut corners with the recovery process and leave crucial data missing. But there were none; the entire process was flawless. The entire cost of : 1) The diagnostics service to determine what was wrong with the hard-drive 2) The recovery of ALL 600 GBs of data on the damaged hard-drive 3) The cost of a brand new 1TB Coolmax hard-drive to which they could transfer the recovered data (and I could keep) Was a grand total of...$111.50. As a grad student who needs to save on every penny he can, this was a minor miracle. Renee's expertise, friendly customer service (the entire process took two days and she had the courtesy and concern to call me on both days), and the fantastic price offered (I repeat $111.50 for a complete data recovery service AND a 1TB hard-drive when other retailers were charging more just to recover some of the data). Given the importance of the data at stake, I cannot speak more highly of the job Renee and her staff did. I don't have a stake in the matter but, based on what I had to go through prior to finding Microcenters and the excellent service I received, those two negative reviews couldn't be further from the truth. I had a AWFUL experience with this place, particularly with Renee. She is very argumentative and hard to deal with, and she continued to try to speak over me while I was asking questions about my PC. I took my PC there to find out why my monitor was not receiving a signal from the computer, and would not turn on. Their diagnosis: A lose memory card. I didn't think that was the issue, and later learned that it WASN'T. Renee kept trying to sell me a bunch of other "fixes" to jack up the price of the service, but I declined. When I got the computer home, the same problem existed, and I learned later from an actual reputable company that the video card was bad and was the actual issue. So basically, I paid $45 for NOTHING. She also promised to clean the unit, and it was still dusty when I got it back. DO NOT do business with this company - LACK OF KNOWLEDGE and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The posted business hours are also incorrect - They are NOT open until 6PM. read more

This place is great. They can troubleshoot your computer, build you a computer, take care of your networking problems and so much more. My computer burned out on me and I couldn't afford a new one so I bought a refurbished one from Microcenters and could not be more happy. And I saved a lot of money!! They downloaded all my info from my old computer and when I plugged in the new one I didn't have to do a thing. I highly recommend this place for all your computer needs. read more
