It was my first time in canyon Texas, exploring Palo duro canyon. Mickeys place was recommended by a co worker and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and welcoming to me and my dog, they even brought her water with ice. The general manager and wait staff was very knowledgeable on with their menu weather it be the food or the wine and cocktails. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, nice menu options. We really enjoy the pizza and the cauliflower crust is surprisingly tasty! Meatballs on the pizza too if you like that sort of thing; we did! Spaghetti bolognese was a big hit at our table too. Complimentary bread and marinara are appreciated but wish the marinara wasn't served cold. Great for a nice night out but you also don't feel out of place in your jeans. read more

Since this place has opened my family has eaten here several times and have not been disappointed in any way. The staff is great, the food is good and well priced, and the service is incredible! My fiancé had some leftovers and we mistakenly left them on the table and the owner got in contact with us through the community to let us know they still had it and it was safe. My order was to go, pizza and a salad. My husband looked at the salad said you could have made that myself. True, I could have but wanted to try their fresh mozzarella. Average at best. We drove all the way to Canyon thinking that we would try this place. We were seated right off the bat. After 2 minutes a girl brought us bread and oil. We proceeded to sit waiting to place our drink and appetizer order. There was wait staff walking all around but nobody stopped at our table. We sat for 15-20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. An older couple was seated at the table right next to us and given bread and drink order taken right off the bat. We kindly got up and walked out. My husband believes we were stereotyped because of his tattoos. We won't be back because we were ignored. Wasted our time and our gas. read more

Went into Mickey's for my birthday meal. We ordered the Sea Bass and 18 oz ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. The bourbon butter on top was fantastic. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and the Parmesan risotto was amazing! Everything else that came to the tables around us looked fantastic as well. Wait staff was attentive and did a great job. "From here to the moon, the best lasagna I've eaten". My husband's exact words when he bit into the lasagna with Italian sausage added. He couldn't stop raving about it. If you like a slight bite to your sauce, this one is it. I enjoyed the prime rib salad. It was a Philly Cheesesteak in a bowl. The meat had an excellent smoke to it. I highly recommend. Our server was as just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be back and will be telling everyone we know to give Mickey's a try. They will not be disappointed. read more

I have always liked Mickey's it's one of three good restaurants in Canyon, Texas. This weekend I overhead a group in front of me in a different restaurant in another city talking about Mickey's in Canyon. They were saying how good the food was and one mentioned how good the pizza was. I haven't had a decent pizza since moving to Canyon so tonight I tried Mickey's pizza and I can say they are now my Pizza of choice. I think I've tried everyone in town and this is the only descent pizza. As I'm am remodeling my house I am eating out way more than I should until I have a kitchen again. I have to say I'm happy to have this as an option. read more

My second experience at mickeys was a lot different. We decided to sit in the "dining room " where the high back bar stool came apart , and the linen napkins and high prices screamed a nice dining experience , as I looked around at the 6 TVs playing sports and the kids crawling all over eating pizza I thought am I in a sports bar , then I looked down at the menu at the 20$ pork chop and over priced items I thought well I guess I'm not having a fine dining experience as the bartender is dropping glasses and making flat cocktails The rolls we requested the waitress brought us flat bread that was cold and a side of oil with it ( mind you we were dying for the delicious rolls we got the first time) but we tasted the flat bread do not recommend it. The service was decent, we barely sat down and she asked us if we were ready to order ( felt very rushed) again like a turn and burn restaurant the food was nothing I would rave bout too much oil on pasta and cold shrimp for 15$ isn't what I would go back for. And it's cheaper to get a shot of vodka then a glass of olive juice and vermouth (martini) they charge separately They will light your dessert on fire but will leave the restaurant smoky , so I guess I'm saying if you want a place to bring your kids and watch sports yeah go to Mickey's. You want a nice fine dinning experience. Go down the street any place other than mickeys. Bc for what you get and what you pay. Your wallet isn't going to be happy read more

Our family has been there a number of times with amazing results. rom the moment you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a smile from a happy guy. In high anticipation of another great restaurant in Canyon, Texas we gave it a try! The menu was pretty short for an Italian food restaurant, but we studied and decided on, what we thought would be safe...Chicken Alfredo and Lasagna. We ordered an appetizer, mozzarella sticks with a side of marina sauce. BLAH, pretty much typical frozen product. It was served warmed and greasy, but not hot and stringing like good mozzarella sticks should be. Service was so-so, we ordered our entrée and waited for about 15 minutes for our food to arrive. Plates were moderate in size, but plenty of food. The alfredo noodles were way overcooked, it was served mushy. Alfredo sauce was a basic, cream soup base with little flavor. The flavor was mostly that of a "chicken base". YUCK The chicken seemed to have been boiled to cook it, then put on the grill for flavor. The portion seemed to have been half of a half, if you know what I mean. Absolutely flavorless. No frills, no bread with meal, no salad, unless you paid extra. Very disappointed. My friends lasagna was the only saving grace, but it too was pretty mediocre. I'm not a chef, but the marinara sauce was the only saving grace, but I'm not sure if it was homemade or not. Several others around us were eating the pizza, it too seemed just ok. We will give this place one more try in a few months, if it makes it that long. Way too expensive for the product they are serving, I predict a slow death. Very unfortunate. read more
