I've had an ongoing issue with Michelsen Dental following my appointment over four months ago. My healthcare FSA rejected the invoice because the charges submitted didn't align with what was paid by insurance. Despite repeated follow-ups, I'm still waiting for a clear resolution. I was also overcharged at my first visit and never received a refund for the difference after insurance processed the claim. While quality dental care matters, so does transparency and professionalism in billing. Unfortunately, I haven't experienced that here. I've never encountered these types of issues at other dental offices, which makes this all the more frustrating. The lack of responsiveness and accountability has left a very poor impression. read more

Very welcoming and positive environment. Check in is super easy and staff are extremely nice. I have been coming here for a little bit over a year now and am very satisfied with my experience. Initially I had a lot of anxiety going to the dentist since I hadn't gone for a good number of years and was dreading to hear how bad my teeth had become. After the first initial visits I wasn't as anxious as the staff didn't make me feel embarrassed about it and reassured me that they were going to take care of my teeth. My insurance changed so I found Dr. Michelsen and was pleased her office was less than 2 miles from my home. Way, WAY before my first appointment I sent them all information they required for a new patient including photos (front and back) of my insurance card. I went to my first appointment for a routine cleaning and was told that they didn't take my insurance BUT for $130 they would clean my teeth. Wasted my time. I have had such horrible experiences in the past with dentists... in part because of extra charges that probably didn't need to happen, extra procedures that weren't necessary, lack of care and concern for sensitivity issues and pain, and not a very warm presence in he front office. Needless to say, I was very hesitant coming to Michelson dental for fear of a repeat experience of the past... And it was opposite in every single way! The front office staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the dentist is really tuned into my concerns, and everything is explained so well! Even though I still don't enjoy coming to the dentist, coming into Michelsen dental makes it a much less traumatic experience for me! I was able to get a same day appointment and really liked their online forms, check ins, and text and calls with team members Veronica and Mayra. They were very pleasant and now I'm thinking I need to change my systems! Dr Michelsen is caring and conservative, tech savvy and old school, wise and fun... Her and I reconnected at the last Dental Convention and realized we're practically neighbors. Her location is very convenient with a huge parking lot and right off the 22 and 55. What an amazing place!!! They were so kind, nice, respectful and just all out amazing. Needed a root canal done and they sent me out to another place because their specialist wasn't there, no big deal. Came back to get my crown put on and they explained everything, made sure it fit correctly and my bite was correct. Offered me a pillow and a blanket, and made me feel really comfortable. In specific Will is such a truly wonderful amazing person. He is so kind, caring and very very nice, and knew that I had bad dental anxiety, kept telling me that I was doing great (even with me shakin like a leaf ). We have 2 PPO'S They (dentist) are very good at taking our money. Total that I had to argue over was $775. $500 cash and the previous balance removed Itʻs a shame when you have to argue about a mistake that accounting made. Well,assuming it was accounting. This was my first time at this dental office and I typically have terrible experiences with new dentists and just overall fear of getting dental work done but this office took my breath away!!! From the moment I walked in I was treated as if I've been a patient there for years. I felt that everyone from front desk, x-rays, dental assistants, and Dr Michelsen took their time with me! Myra took her time explaining different payment options and understood that I wanted to get my smile back but that it can get expensive and really went through all my options with me! Gabby was so sweet and took her time with my cleaning and i felt very comfortable while getting numbing injections and the deep clean! The male dentist who was assisting the Dr made the appointment so relaxed and kept conversation going which helped my nerves a lot! If you're nervous about dental work they offer so many options to help calm your nerves while you're there with no hesitation (black out glasses, noise cancelling earbuds, lavender). The Dr checked with me multiple times to make sure I was comfortable and i felt like she made me her priority even though i'm sure she had other patients at the time! My experience at Dr. Michelsen's office was amazing! I had a dental implant placed. I was a nervous wreck! But, Dr. Tran was awesome. He was very patient and funny.
