The food is good! Real good!!!! The restaurant itself is run down and not clean. It was a one and done for me. There's trash in the parking lot. The entry way has torn up seating. There is a newish area to the left for dining. We couldn't sit there bc it was full. We sat in the old part and it was atrocious. Nasty walls, baseboards, spray foam filler sticking out of the floor and crevices, not properly air conditioned: one area we passed through was hot. If they could fix the premises and indoor dining area to be clean and 1/2 way decent( like the newer part) it would be SO much better. read more

Very good buffet for a reasonable price! Ate fish (fried and blackened), several vegetables, peach cobbler, and drink for around $26 for 2 of us (before tip). We get charged nearly that for burgers and fries any more. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back whenever we are in the area. read more

Me and a friend were camping at Florence Marina State Park, and this restaurant was recommended to us by the campsite host. It is about 25 minutes from the park, but most things are. The next day we went for the lunch buffet, and I have to say, it lived up to its hype. Delicious and homey southern food! Buffet for 12 dollars! I'm sold! The Mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole were SO yummy. I mixed them together and bit AND OH MYYYY. so good. It seemed like a lot of people here were regulars and I understand why. If you like lots of good ol' southern cooking you just can't beat this place. No ambiance...afterall it's a buffet style eatery catering to country folks. They come to eat...not romanticize. Service is great and this place stays busy. I go miles out of my way to eat here when I head to the Midwest from Florida. Priced right....actually cheap for what you get. We were camped at Florence Marina State Park with a camping club and the whole group decided to lunch at Michelle's after hiking Providence Canyon. What a great meal. Good Country cooking in a buffet. The problem was the deserts. We ate way too many of them. It was like a competition. Everyone got a desert, then started comparing them, then went back to get another. Some of our part had four deserts - and this was AFTER a full country buffet meal. The price is great too. We often travel from Atlanta to the Gulf Coast and always find ourselves in the area around lunchtime. My husband has always been a fan but I'm not a big buffet place myself. Mind you, this really isn't a seafood buffet as much as it is a country cooking buffet with hush puppies a couple of kinds of fish. The fish was tasty and the tartar sauce was good. The country cooking items were just as you'd expect. What blew me away, however, was the service! You'll never find a happier, more pleasant waitstaff anywhere. Fried Saturday Night Seafood Buffet Sadly a pretty awful experience. I have been here before a few years ago and enjoyed the food then. This Saturday (2nd March, 2019) the food was not only disappointing it was awful. At one point one of my fellow diners told me not to eat the squash casserole as it was "vile." I can believe it. I have no idea what was going on, but the food was just fried, no flavor, and did not appear to be fresh. I had the fried scallops which were such a strange flavor or lack of flavor, that you would never have known that they were scallops. They were the way I imagine that fried softish erasers from the top of a pencil would have tasted. The fried oysters were a little tough, but even so, not so much of a problem if there had been flavor associated with them. At another table over was a large tray of what I took to be gravy with a slab of pork (skin side up) lying in part of it. I gave this a wide berth, but my husband told me it was on a dessert table, and in fact was a cobbler. He said it was delicious. The staff were still friendly, but that made me feel that I couldn't tell them how awful the food was. I felt very cowardly for that. At about 3:00 a.m. I woke up and started throwing up. Quite a horrible dinner and aftermath. I really don't understand this, other people love it and I've been there before and enjoyed it, but man, I won't be going back. read more

I came here to visit my dad. We had the Sunday Buffet. I wouldn't say it was amazing but it was well worth $12 and that included our drinks. The staff were friendly and the line went out the door the whole time we were there. It's normal southern food. Fried chicken was great and the banana pudding was very very good. The cornbread was terrible. The turkey was cold, like refrigerated cold, which was strange. I'm giving it 5 stars for value. It's a southern country buffet done decently. read more

The food is awful and very disappointed in the price and quality. If I had only one bad experience I would not say anything, but after repeated bad experience it's to be expected. My husband and I arrived right as the seafood was being put out on the buffet, this was the third time we have tried this restaurant and I will say we won't go back. The food was very bland to say the least. I tried the so called fried catfish that didn't taste like catfish at all, it was fried to well done. No taste, no seasoning. The oysters were burnt, no taste. The fried clams were hard. Everyone talks so highly of this place and I don't understand why. We have been here for lunch and everything is so tasteless, no flavor, bland food. The drink is suppose to be included with your plate but all three times we've been here they have been put on out ticket for 2.00 each didn't realise it until we had left. When my husband and I travel to Alabama or heading to the beach we try to arrange our trip to have lunch at Michelle's. The food is always good and the staff friendly. We ate there about 3 weeks ago and it did not disappoint. Their desserts ( a large variety of cakes, pies and cobbler) all appear to be homemade. The salad bar is well stocked and frankly I just love their vegetables. Never had a bad meal there. Good Southern food and a great variety to fit everyone's tastes. We have been stopping at Michelle's for years and will continue to make it a stop when we are in the area. read more
