Y'all. Y'ALL. I have finally found my nail artist in Austin! Michele is an amazing nail artist. I found Michele on Yelp and checked her out on instagram (@itsasetup) following another reviewer's recommendation. I'm in LOVE. Don't let the fact that she's a one woman show fool you--her nail studio, which is inside a larger salon, is STACKED with the highest quality polishes, stones, studs, charms, etc. I've ever seen. I have been to nail salons with 30 chairs with fewer polishes than Michele has. Plus, she was a great listener who captured exactly what I wanted. It's not a frou frou place; you're not gonna get a glass of wine and a 20 minute stupid hand massage here. I don't have time for that anyways! I want beautiful, high quality nails and nail art. That's it. Michele delivers that exactly. Her attention to detail is amazing, her shaping is flawless, her polish application is insanely clean (she didn't have to remove any access polish from around my nails). She made a few really good suggestions (about my color choices and idea for stones) along the way that I appreciated because they were things I hadn't considered and I ended up happier with the final result. Her price for a full set was very reasonable considering the amount of work put in to it. Whatever shape you want, whatever design, she can do it. Figure out when you have an opening in your schedule, and go see Michele. read more

I am so impressed! Michelle is an absolute artist! Being a hairstylist I love fabulous over the top nails, as well as being in a clean professional and fun atmosphere when I get them. Michelle's Nails takes it to a whole new level she has almost EVERY color in essie, OPI and other major lines of Polish, gel, and shelac. She hand sculpts her acrylics and, AND she is VERY particular about how much buffing she does to your nails. Keeping them at their healthiest condition. So often I have had to "Take a break" from acrylics because my nail beds were too thin due to over drilling. She has glitter, bling, bows, and a ton of other 3D items to bedazzel your nail. Whatever glue she uses, those bits of bling are not coming off, I can attest!!! On top of all this she has he own little sweet room in the building labeled "Tara's Salon" on Anderson. She keeps it and her tools clean. I did see part of her manicure set in the sterilization oven (not that gross barbicide fluid often used, that people never seem to change.) Patient with my many color demands, good conversation, and a quick and detailed worker, I will TOTALLY be going back to see Michelle for fills and polish changes! read more

I've been looking for a reliable, consistent, and good nail tech for almost 9 years since I moved to (Austin)Texas. I came across Michele on Instagram and I watched her work before making an appointment. I was not disappointed in the strong foundation, which a lot of techs in ATX lack and neither was I disappointed with the outcome of my nails. I will be returning despite having to drive into Austin :) read more

Michele Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

I have a terrible confession to make, I'm a nail art addict. My nails have never had a hard time growing, but working as both a barista and an esthetician, they weren't quite holding up like they used to. Between chemicals and water weakening my nails, getting stray wax stuck to my nails(eventually pulling chunks of polish off of tediously applied designs) and normal breakage associated with natural nails, I had to have a better option. I opted for acrylics, and was quickly talked into a pink and white set at the local cheap nail shop. I loved the durability, but after three applications between two nearby shops, I was tired of wasting my money on carelessly applied solar nails. I found Michele through Instagram of all places(@itsasetup), and you can bet your ass I'm never going anywhere else in Austin ever again. Yesterday was the second time I had the pleasure of having my nails designed by Michele. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of her work. Her shaping is immaculate, polish application is meticulous (she didn't even have to do any cleanup on my most recent set), color selection is unbeatable (600+) and she's real as fuck. I went four weeks between fills and had zero visible lifting. Today I worked a very busy six hour shift in coffee land and didn't lose a single stone. Yes, she's going to cost a little more than your usual mani-pedi place, but she's not unreasonable at all on her pricing. You get what you pay for and here, you get what you ask for. Square, round, stiletto, almond, ballet, coffin, squaletto, lipstick, Miami slant, she'll do it all and perfectly. Pearls, stones, studs, crystals, charms, caviar, chains, wraps, Minx, yeah, she's got em. She carries so many colors, so many brands (OPI, butter, Zoya, Essie, Marc Jacobs and much, much more). If you don't want to spend the money, feel free to go waste it elsewhere, but if you work hard for your money and want what you deserve for your nails, come see Michele. Tell her I sent you, but don't take my appointment time. read more

Hmm where do I begin lets just say if you're not Hispanic they don't want your business which is pretty sad, I went in there for a haircut it was only one person getting a haircut and keep in mind plenty open chairs and other barbers there but because I was black I was refused service, so I went next door for a haircut ,overall very crapy and racist highly don't recommend this place read more

Let me start by saying that I was a poor planner but Michele gracefully saw me last minute. I saw her yelp and instagram (@itsasetup) and knew I wanted to entrust her with some stylish new acrylics. I haven't had acrylics for over 6 months and on all those occasions false tips were used to build the nail. I was intrigued and excited Michele uses these cool stickers under your natural nail to create the false one. Honestly it just made sense....way less filing and it looks WAY more natural. I will surely be going back (and bringing some waterslide decals from Etsy) to upkeep my coffin/almond nail penchant! read more

I was referred to Michele by a friend who gets amazing nail art done. I am a much more of a boring nail person but I still felt I should review. I work in water daily so my hands are always a mess. I have tried shellac else where and they all swear it will stay at least 2 weeks and it never does. I called on a whim and Michele got me in same day. I'm sure it was just a fluke to get in so quickly but I told her I was a grateful even if it was a quick manicure. I got a very awesome manicure. No accidental poking at my cuticles and no rough filing. But the reason she gets this review is for my REGULAR polish not shellac staying on for almost 2 weeks. Michele has a Huge selection of polishes!! I will totally be back for more services!! And who knows I may give in to some nail art! read more

I can't say enough great things about Michelle and her work - she is legit! I've been looking for a real NAIL ARTIST and she fits the bill. Her products are top-notch and you WILL get compliments on her work. read more

I have been going to Michele for about 4 years now & refuse to go anywhere else....which is hard seeing as my husband moved me to San Antonio 2 years ago. But I have to see Michele once a month to keep my cuticles just the way I like them (nonexistent) & my feet soft. She is by far the most amazing manicurist in Austin & I think I tried them all over my life. Cannot rave enough about her! read more

Michele is AWESOME! Her pedicures are AMAZING, and manicures are just as relaxing. I love that she takes so much pride in her craft. This isn't just a job for her, she takes her time with you, and gives you what you pay for. She has more nail polishes and shellac colors that I have ever seen. Her recommendations are great as well. I'm a simple girl, that only wears clear polish or super light nudes. My polish (regular polish) lasts almost a week and a half. Typically, my polish will peal in a few days or sooner. Michele recommended that I get a triple buff shine (which last just as long, but no chipping, which is great because I have a newborn). I've lived in Austin for one year now, and have stayed loyal to her since day one! :) read more

Michele is AMAZING. I have followed her all over town when she was working at other salons and I am so excited she finally opened her own shop. Michele is always ready to take my at my appointment time, and always does an amazing job. She truly takes her time on nails, and makes sure every single nail looks perfect. If not, she will start over on that nail and redo them. She is very flexible with scheduling, and stay late or come in early to make it work for your schedule. Michele is very up to date on all of the new nail trends and colors and always has cool stuff to try. She has tons of OPI and Essie colors, and also has the Shellac and glitter nails, as well as Minx. Michele is truly dedicated to her work, and loves working on nails. I have recommended Michele to many of my friends, and they have all loved her as well. Go make and appointment and go see Michele! read more
