I made a collage of inspiration for my burlesque Valentine's nails. Thanks for your patience Michelle. Love my nails!

I am so impressed! Michelle is an absolute artist! Being a hairstylist I love fabulous over the top nails, as well as being in a clean professional and fun atmosphere when I get them. Michelle's Nails takes it to a whole new level she has almost EVERY color in essie, OPI and other major lines of Polish, gel, and shelac. She hand sculpts her acrylics and, AND she is VERY particular about how much buffing she does to your nails. Keeping them at their healthiest condition. So often I have had to "Take a break" from acrylics because my nail beds were too thin due to over drilling. She has glitter, bling, bows, and a ton of other 3D items to bedazzel your nail. Whatever glue she uses, those bits of bling are not coming off, I can attest!!! On top of all this she has he own little sweet room in the building labeled "Tara's Salon" on Anderson. She keeps it and her tools clean. I did see part of her manicure set in the sterilization oven (not that gross barbicide fluid often used, that people never seem to change.) Patient with my many color demands, good conversation, and a quick and detailed worker, I will TOTALLY be going back to see Michelle for fills and polish changes!

Second time seeing Michele and I couldn't be happier.

I have a terrible confession to make, I'm a nail art addict. My nails have never had a hard time growing, but working as both a barista and an esthetician, they weren't quite holding up like they used to. Between chemicals and water weakening my nails, getting stray wax stuck to my nails(eventually pulling chunks of polish off of tediously applied designs) and normal breakage associated with natural nails, I had to have a better option. I opted for acrylics, and was quickly talked into a pink and white set at the local cheap nail shop. I loved the durability, but after three applications between two nearby shops, I was tired of wasting my money on carelessly applied solar nails. I found Michele through Instagram of all places(@itsasetup), and you can bet your ass I'm never going anywhere else in Austin ever again. Yesterday was the second time I had the pleasure of having my nails designed by Michele. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of her work. Her shaping is immaculate, polish application is meticulous (she didn't even have to do any cleanup on my most recent set), color selection is unbeatable (600+) and she's real as fuck. I went four weeks between fills and had zero visible lifting. Today I worked a very busy six hour shift in coffee land and didn't lose a single stone. Yes, she's going to cost a little more than your usual mani-pedi place, but she's not unreasonable at all on her pricing. You get what you pay for and here, you get what you ask for. Square, round, stiletto, almond, ballet, coffin, squaletto, lipstick, Miami slant, she'll do it all and perfectly. Pearls, stones, studs, crystals, charms, caviar, chains, wraps, Minx, yeah, she's got em. She carries so many colors, so many brands (OPI, butter, Zoya, Essie, Marc Jacobs and much, much more). If you don't want to spend the money, feel free to go waste it elsewhere, but if you work hard for your money and want what you deserve for your nails, come see Michele. Tell her I sent you, but don't take my appointment time.

Don't look any further. Michele is the best nail therapist in Austin/central Texas. Yes she's A1/ with designs and glam. But the overall health of the nails and the quality of her products speak for itself. Try her, you won't be disappointed and you won't wanna go anywhere else.

Michele does amazing designs and quality nail care. The pedicure feels amazing! Best I've ever had! Pricing is reasonable and the location is very easy to find.

I saw her yelp and instagram (@itsasetup) and knew I wanted to entrust her with some stylish new acrylics.

I ended up getting a seat within seven minutes and it was really cool because I did not have to wait. The gentleman at the front was really nice when asking me to check in. There are only about five waiting chairs, but they are really comfortable. The gentleman started the water for me and alerted my nail tech. My nail tech was very friendly, and I had a great experience with her, but overall the worst part about all of it was how rushed she was. I had over 45 minutes until they closed for my pedicure but she acted like the building needed to be evacuated! Still, I must say that I've never gotten so many compliments on my toenails as I have this time around. I will absolutely be back!

Since I change my French tip to white she didn't let the white dry all the way and now it chipping from the side . Just felt like it was very unprofessional and i didn't even get to enjoy my pedicure. Really wish I would've read the reviews before coming in go to Milano nail spa they'll do a better job and better service there not rude there That's the issue , I did tell you what's was wrong and what I just kept getting ignored. - and I shouldn't have to be 2 hrs for a pedicure I even ask if I could get another lady and you still ignored that. I didn't even get to enjoy nothing isn't that the purpose of self care days..... but thank you I got them fix the next day and Lily did a Great job .

He was a little rough to the touch as times with my pedi. The pulling and moving my feet & toes quickly and/ or forcing them down from time to time was uncomfortable. I didn't say anything but looked at him. The manicure wasn't done completely. He massaged my forearm but missed my hands. I asked if he was going to massage my hands, he looked at me and said yes, but no massage to my hand was performed. I looked around at other customers and their hands were massaged a little after their forearm. Their tech had them wash their hands afterwards. Ken had me wash my hands right after my forearm. He polished my nails and said thank you. He placed a fan in front of my hands but didn't say how long I needed to stay in front of the fan. Normally im told 2 mins etc...I touched my nails after 3 mins and turned off the fan. When I checked out I did let the lady know it wasn't a good experience for me this time. She inquired, I told her Ken didn't ask me if I wanted any water etc..as I watch other customer receive sodas & waters. The lady replied, oh really he normally does. I replied he didn't. I said I didn't appreciate all the pulling / tugging as well as him placing the fan in front of me and not saying how long I needed to dry my nails. The receptionist excuse for Ken's behavior was he doesn't speak English which I thought was bananas. I still have a small tip, but asked that he not be assigned to me again. She agreed in doing so. I thought about my experience on my way home. A mani/ pedi is not cheap. If I can't enjoy it and relax I'd rather not return nor refer any more friends to their shop. I'm disappointed. R. Chambers

I came in for a regular gel mani-pedi, but while I was there I saw a glass fruit nail design on their display. It looked cute, so I asked for that instead. Unfortunately, the salon could not deliver anything close to the display design. While the technician was trying to do the glass fruit effect on my toes, she kept talking to another technician, and then that technician had to come over and show her how to do it. That made me skeptical about whether she was trained to perform the service at all. If a salon advertises a design on display, the technician assigned to the customer should know how to do it. If they cannot perform the service, they should say that upfront instead of experimenting on the customer and wasting their time. The result looked nothing like the design they had displayed. When it clearly was not working, instead of being honest or taking responsibility, they blamed me. I was told my nails were too short. Then, during my manicure, I was told I needed to stop moving so much and not talk on my phone. I sat still. A salon should not advertise a design and then blame the customer when they cannot recreate it. I ended up switching to regular gel polish, and even that was poorly done. My mani-pedi looked messy and unprofessional. If rubbing lotion on my legs and hands is considered the "massage" portion of the service, give your employees a break. It felt minimal than an actual massage. The tipping situation also felt inappropriate. I was asked to pay and tip before my manicure was even started. A tip is supposed to reflect the quality of service received. I do not think it is reasonable to ask a customer to tip before they have even received the full service or seen the final result. Their explanation was that they did not want me to mess up my nails after the manicure, but I still had to wait for everything to cure anyway. You can get a tip AFTER my service. In the end, I paid $60 for the mani-pedi and still left a $10 tip, but there was no acknowledgment or compensation for the poor experience or the time wasted. They advertised a glass fruit nail design they could not execute, assigned someone who appeared to need guidance during the service, blamed me for my short nail when it did not work, and still expected a tip before the manicure had even started. The technician also asked where I was from and what Asian ethnicity I was. That had nothing to do with my nail service and made me uncomfortable. I was there to get my nails done, not to explain my ethnicity. After finding out I was Chinese, there was no real conversation or purpose behind the question, which made it feel unnecessary and inappropriate.
