I like the organization of the Stafford, VA store (#4705) and all the clearance they have, but I was not aware you can't exchange or return clearance if you change your mind. Apparently, the policy changed on 11/27/2022. I was going to return a few things at this location, where I was greeted by a young lady who proceeded to tell me Michael's Policy has always been you can't return clearance and I stated I had not been in the store for awhile, but I was not aware of that. If you actually look to the end of the receipt, the policy is printed on there. I think it was the way the young lady responded that threw me off, she was a little crass. Apparently, I've not tried to return clearance before because it's only been 3-4 months since I stepped into a Michael's. Needless to say, I genuinely like Michael's, I just wish these younger workers weren't so rude in the way they respond to customers. read more

Pretty nice store that has a lot outside to draw you in. We were on the hunt for something specific and the employees were very helpful and patient. Military & teacher discounts, but don't forget to check your email because they always have some type of deal! I also like how they have some items that come in a box on display for customers. read more

Be careful, especially after Christmas if you have to use this location. They use to have a great manager but he got promoted. The new inexperienced staff doesn't know how to run gift cards in combination with vouchers. Fair enough but the manger on duty made it way worse when she voided my 100 dollar gift card! If you have coupons or vouchers make sure these are run first! When I return to the store after the manager was unable to fix the gift card she told me to call customer service in a few days if I don't receive money back, they didn't offer a receipt... luckily I asked because Customer service indicated this was not the case. The drive to Hobby Lobby is going to happen a lot more often. read more

I wish I could give this place 10 stars for how happy it makes me :) The store is big and organized. The only thing that occasionally annoys me about Michael's is that they leave their stocking ladders awkwardly in the middle of their aisles. They always have great sales which is greatly appreciated by the artist within me! I know sometimes Michael's gets a bad reputation for being expensive however I feel that their prices are always great with their sales coupon and they also accept competitor coupons! The staff at this particular Michael's have always been very helpful. They have so many amazing items that fully satisfy all creative ideas! I also love their picture frames! I would highly recommend this Michaels to anyone! I'll have to upload a picture of my final painting after it's completed! read more

I absolutely used to love the store. However their new coupon policy is a complete joke. About 95% of all merchandise falls under the everyday value category and is no longer eligible for any of their coupons or promotions. So forget about trying to get a good deal for your Girl Scouts on purchasing some hot glue guns because they will not honor those coupons anymore. This in itself would have been fine had the management given a thorough explanation of the new policy in a polite manner. This store is super convenient for me. Nice location and always has parking available. The store has a good stock, and great seasonal turnover of items. I always find something new whenever I come in. I love that you can stack coupons! I almost always find more than what I came in for. The employees are so helpful too. Store never seems dirty, dingy etc. It's always clean, even when they are turning over the seasonal inventory/signage. This is one of my favorite stores. I've recently gotten into a crafting kick. Anyone who is into crafting knows Michael's is the place to go. The prices work for all budgets, and this store has a good selection. If you are looking to go cheap, take the clearance aisle for a ride. There are sales all the time and workshops. This should definitely be your first stop as a DIYer. read more

Felt safe going to Michael's with Covid. All staff are wearing masks. Not all customers were wearing masks but most were. And the store is large enough that if you didn't want to be next to somebody you could go around to another aisle until they walked away. They had separate rows for clean carts and dirty carts and were monitoring them regularly. They had signs around reminding people to social distance. The sales were amazing so I really took advantage. They did a good job separating the checkout area as well. Michaels needs to document on Yelp all the measures that they're taking, so that more people feel comfortable coming in and shopping. read more

The store has tons of stuff that I've never seen in Michaels before. The ribbon has a very wide selection. The seasonal stuff is all over the place and has lots of varieties. I really like this store and will be going back eventually. read more

The staff in the framing department is outstanding! LeeAnn recently assisted me with framing a picture for my parent's anniversary and she went the extra 5 miles to ensure I was happy with the finished product. She even prioritized completing my order to be sure it was ready to be picked up the day of my folk's anniversary party.
