Michaels- It is criminal that you took over the balloon business after Party City Closed down and your helium doesn't even keep ballons floating for one day after purchase. Mind you, I bought the balloons in the evening, drove straight home and brought the baloons inside my home to ensure the heat from the car didn't cause them to bust or loose air. The next morning, I noticed the balloons weren't floating bery high. Thought it was because I had attached the clip given to me to a chair and I was imagining things. Nope. The darn things fell tp the ground. All 13 of them. $16 bucks of crappy balloons yall. Luckily I bought quite a few ballons so my niece held them in a picture for a backdrop for a few photos for her graduation but I was so disappointes that I wasted my time and money buying these cruddy ballons. I will NOT buy ballons from Michaels again. read more

10/11/2025 ​I stopped by the Michael's in Pearland recently. It's a pretty big store and it was noticeably clean and organized. They have lots of decorations everywhere, which honestly makes it fun just to walk around and see what they have out. The staff was friendly and helpful. A new thing is they now have self-checkout, but personally, I don't care for it. A plus is that they are open pretty late, which is convenient. read more

Mhm I went to the hobby lobby and Walmart to find pipe cleaners and I didn't find any. A lady at hobby lobby told me to go to Micheal's since Micheal's has everything, and I go and I hear a duck barking and the employees didn't hear it which upsets me and it smelt so stinky in one of the isles. I found this review sitting in my drafts, posting it now... I had ordered some tea-light candles from Michaels, the online ad said it burned for 4 hours, and I tested one, it was alive only for 3. I did not want it, but was a little hesitant as I had already opened one, still I visited the store and they took it, they did ask me how come its opened, but took it back anyway in the spirit of 'customer not satisfied', which was indeed what it was. Appreciated the service. Now that I was here, decided to look around. Have always found interesting stuff at this one of the best DIY stores. Great variety from paper crafts, wood, to yarn, stickers, seasonal stuff, Ofcourse paints, canvas, frames , tailoring stuff, Cricut machines, instant cameras and many many more. Not to forget the all exclusive art classes. Michaels is a store that can make your imagination take flight and your creative instinct jump start, like mine did. I HAVE to start painting again ! In the sticker section, they have added some not- so- native- to- America festivals like Diwali ! I had seen it in Party city, now here, it was cool, I Hadd to get it. I also got some beads and a pendant to accessorize a particular dress and make it party ready. Now if I could just find that sewing kit and some time, Thanksgiving is just about a day away! I haven't shopped at Michael's in years and doubt I'll be going back, at least not to the Silverlake location in Pearland. If paying by card you have to self checkout now. Ok, I can handle that. But I had to ask the worker in the register area for some assistance, and wow, that was a mistake. Can you say RUDE?! I asked if I could price check an item before I rang it up and she abruptly said "that's 50% off." Yes ma'am, but I couldn't find the actual price. At this point she only seemed slightly annoyed to help me by taking it to her register for a price check. I proceeded to scan a few more of my items, but 2 of them did not ring up at the sale price I saw posted so I asked her to please remove them. She literally "huffed" at me as she walked off to get her gadget she needed to void the items. At this point, I'm getting pissed so I said "you know, I don't have to purchase ANY of this." Seriously? I'm having to do my own checkout and you can't be bothered to kindly assist a paying customer? I'm sorry, I thought you were on the clock since you're sorting product and have your name tag on. I shop here often for cake supplies and craft supplies, sometimes even home décor. My middle child absolutely loves Michaels. She loves picking out art supplies and crafting items. Her latest find was a ceramic turtle and glow in the dark paint. She loves painting, so this was perfect for her. We get almost all of our canvas from Michaels too. They always have either a sale going on, and 20% off coupon on top of that. Their cake supply items were just ok but they recently rearranged some things and changed brands on most of their items. They had a ton of Wilton items but now they weren't to sweet tooth and satin ice. I really like that they now have satin ice fondant. Its so much better than the Wilton, and it comes in smaller packages too, for when I don't need an entire box of one color. We've also gotten some fake flowers here for my mothers grave. She loved roses and I can always count on Michaels to have some. I also signed up for rewards using their app, Ive gotten so many reward certificates this way! It's a great way to save, definitely recommend. read more

At the time of my visit, this store was experiencing internet failure, which meant NO DEBIT CARDS NO CREDIT CARDS NO CHECKS CASSSSSSSH ONLY!!!! How distressed was I, VERY, who carries cash now a days, NOT ME, robbing me will only be for practice. Lol. But yeah, no internet limited my purchasing power!!! Thank God for the friendly clerk who checked us out as we scrounged for nickels, pennies, dimes etc Friendly staff 'attempted' to direct us in the direction of what we wanted, buuuuuut yeah that didn't happen. My mom complained that they didn't know their product & I concurred. I'm sure what we were looking for, filament wire or thin wire as they called it, WAS in fact in the store, but no one knew where it was sooo can you say needle in a haystack? We know they sold it because we saw several products with the filament wire. But not being able to find it, we purchased a substitute & kept it moving. read more

It's been two weeks and this is still bothering me. My wife and I came here to shop. I started to notice that an employee seems to be following me everywhere I went, pretending to be stocking random items. So my wife said let's go to random spots in the store to see what happens. We moved to the opposite end of the store a minute t later he is in our isle stocking. We move back to the same Isle across the store and he comes back stocking his fake goods. We changed locations like this for a while and sure enough the scum bag would be there. What kind of bullshit is this? We took the items out of our cart and left. Ah, yes, Michael's craft store. You should know exactly what you're looking for or else you may overspend on stuff because it's so cool!!! I mean, we all need those dollar trinkets, right?! Lol!! So I went here right after Hobby Lobby closed. I don't know my way around the store as organized as it is. I asked one of the employees for my stuff and she kindly escorted me to the spot or answered my question if they carried an item. That made my shopping experience so much better. I was tired and it was almost closing time (I miss R.E.M.) They as well honored the online coupon of 20% off my order. I purchased what I needed. Went home and started to make the bachelorette weekend stuff. It was fun designing the hats. My daughter was the model to keep the hat still while I stenciled it. She got tired and I used her cosmetology mannequin named Bubbles (Power Puff Girls). Needless to say, Bubbles stayed still and shut her mouth. I finished the hats and went to bed. I've tried to order online for store pickup and each time there was something in the order that would get canceled because it was "out of stock". HOWEVER, when I went inside I was able to find it myself. This has happened 3 times. Hate to say it, but I think the order picker must be lazy and not want to be bothered to actually look for the items! Very frustrating! read more

I always come to this Michaels and have never had a bad experience. Every employee is always there to help and courteous! Sometimes I think I have the best deal out there and one time a cashier busted out another coupon for more percentage off! Yess! They always have some good sale on their decor which I love! Sometimes they have really deep discounts on in season items! If you haven't been to Michaels, get there! This store is always clean and organized. They always have great items on clearance! The service here was absolutely TERRIBLE. The store is completely disorganized with none of the prices matching what is listed online. I came in looking for a simple stencil and it was so disorganized I could barley see what I was looking for. The few items that are grouped together have prices on the aisles that do not correlate to the price at the register. The item I attempted to purchase was specifically from that grouping. I even had an associate come and scan several misplaced items just to be positive. Once this was brought to the store manager's attention (Gloria), she completely disregarded the stores mistakes and refused to make an adjustment because "the price difference was too large". It was a 10$ difference. I'm disappointed in the lack of accountability at this location and especially in Gloria. Very poor customer service. read more

this store doesn't even deserve 1 star no one was there to attend us when we were ready to check out. there were more than four employees standing around looking at us while we were waiting in line. there were customers before us who got ignored too. last but not least, when they finally got the courage to check us out the employee who checked me out was rude and even threw our receipt at us instead of handing it out. read more

Their bins are a bargain and their prices are reasonable when you clip your coupon or pop into the app. The staff is pretty friendly but the checkout can be a drag. Michael's is always my first stop for arts and craft supplies. Though they don't have a huge selection of materials, I can usually adapt my "need" list to the items they do have in stock. The prices are the main reason that I stop here first. Comparing apples to apples, Michael's has better prices than other arts and crafts suppliers. read more

Although they do have a big selection of craft supplies and what not, their other artist supplies are a bit short. This isn't that big of an issue for me since I usually buy basic things like canvases and paint, but if you're an artist and looking for a specific thing, you can try to find it here, but your best bet would be to try someplace like Texas Art Supply. However, Michael's does have a large selection of supplies for other craft projects. Also a nice selection of holiday decorations all year round depending on which holiday is coming up. Its a nice place to just look around and see what they have. Especially in the dollar bins. I always find something fun and interesting to buy in one of those. read more

I like Michaels best for their scrapbooking material, especially when they are on sale! Scrapbooking can be a very expensive hobby, but if you shop when they have their sales, it's a great time to stock up! I only came here because it was a Sunday so hobby lobby was closed. I came for one single item that they didn't have in stock in the stores anymore. No big deal, except that it took several associates to figure that out. No one knew what I was talking about, it's like none of the people there do any crafting in their personal time. I ended up buying a few LED candles and a planner, but truthfully the store is a mess. All of the planners were on sale and apparently several had been taken out of boxes that came in a bigger set. They looked at me like I was the crazy one when it did not have a barcode. They had to go back and get another one that was in the box. Again, this was fine except that many had been taken out of the boxes and set in a pile so I'm wondering why they even left those out to begin with. I was very irritated at how they looked at me when I said there was a pile of them when it is their responsibility to keep the sections in order. Also, they were on sale and I had to repeatedly reminded the cashier to apply the 40% discount. I have decided that no crafting project is necessary on a Sunday. read more

I really do want to like Michaels because the employees seem happier than Hobby Lobby. However, I rarely purchase anything because they have higher prices and less selection than the Hobby Lobby that is about 5 minutes from this store. I was able to find some candles that were 50% off, so about the same price as Wal-Mart, but better quality. read more

For a craft store they have very poor customer service. The employees were not helpful and discourteous.

I called micheals today to ask if something was in stock. Because it was unclear on the website I spoke with a manager who was quite rude didn't even introduce herself. I asked it the item was in stock and she said I'll check and put me on hold for 15 minutes I then hung up and called back. Someone picked up and didn't answer. I called 7 more times and the call was declined then I just waited for the next available person and was hung up on again. The more I go the more rude they are. read more
