I really like Hallmark stores, but I felt discriminated against at this location…read more I entered the store and had Japanese comic books and a box of Pokémon cards in my hand from another store, clearly these are not items hallmark sells. A Caucasian older woman who worked there on a Saturday afternoon approached me and said that she's going to hold on to my items. She did not state a reason or policy for why she had to do that, and I didn't feel comfortable with that idea, but before I could say anything she had already reached out for my items in my hand and walked away to place them behind the register. Within that same interaction, she ushered me towards the clearance section of the store, and sort of left me there. I had no desire to look at the things in the clearance section, and at this point I'm feeling annoyed. Why not ask me if there was something in particular that I'm looking for? I actually was there for a certain item, and could have used the help. I walked around the store for another 5 minutes, but could not stay longer because our interaction did not sit well with me. I honestly felt disgusted. When I went to the counter to get my items back, she told me the reason why she took them up. She believed the items I had at my possession were from her hallmark store, and later realized they were from another store (my receipt was clearly visible in the book). My question is, if she thought I was holding merchandise from her store , why not offer me a small shopping basket instead of taking up the items? There were lots of them at the front of the store that she could have offered me. Hypothetically, lets say that I did have items from the hallmark store in my hands, why can't I hold on to them as I continue shopping? Another thing was that bothered me was how she clearly inspected my things as she walked away with them. Why not give them back immediately if she knew they weren't from her store? Why assume that my shopping experience should begin at the clearance aisle? Anyways, I will not be going back to this hallmark location. But if anyone reads this, please beware of this particular staff member that might be watching and judging you. And if you are this staff member that's reading this, shame on you.

She is knowledgeable, helpful, caring and friendly. I totally believe she loves her job, and gets to know her customers and their needs. When I go in there looking for something I always go to Sylvia first. She then tells me if they have it, and where it is located on the lot. If they don't have it she sees to it that it is ordered, and will even contact me when it comes in. I truly like her, and her helpful and caring customer service. Since I am a beginner Beekeeper, and love to grow much of my own vegetables, I show her some pics of what I am doing or looking for, which helps her to serve my needs better. I also find that the nursery has a tremendous selection of items that me or any novice gardener would desire or need. As a Marine Sgt. Veteran, they also give me a discount on every purchase I make. I like the way these folks do business, and I trust we will have several more years together, as I am beginning to to get some age on me, like a fine wine. Ray S.

To my surprise, Evangeline responded promptly and with so much kindness. Today I stopped by her shop to drop off the basket and all of its contents, and she was absolutely wonderful to work with--warm, welcoming, and genuinely interested in helping. Her professionalism and generosity truly impressed me, and I cannot wait to see the beautifully wrapped final basket on Gala night. It's rare to find a business that not only excels in their craft but also supports the community with such grace and heart. I will be sharing pictures of the basket soon! Flowers by Evangeline has absolutely earned my 5 stars! Highly recommend!

When the arrangement had not arrived by the time he got home from work in the afternoon, he called this florist shop. First they said the arrangement HAD been delivered earlier in the day (which was not true, I was home all day), and then my husband got upset. I don't know what else was said, but about 20 minutes later, our doorbell rang. A sad looking, days-old flower arrangement was delivered to our house. It was in a very plain vase and the water was cloudy. Some of the flowers were already turning brown. It was an arrangement that you might pay $40 for at HEB, see picture attached. We like to use local businesses, but we were very disappointed and will not use this florist again for anything.
