You can find name brand things at cheaper prices. They stock clothes, makeup, seasonal items (like summer pool toys), phone accessories, art supplies, toys, novelty items. The list goes on! What surprised and impressed me, however, was their extensive candy section. I have a huge sweet tooth and 2 nephews who are 10 and 12 years old. So, of course, we raided the candy section! I also tried to grab an ICP shirt for her, but all the sizes I saw were really large. Not sure if that's typical or if they were just running low because it was late December when I visited. The checkout experience was...awkward. The cashier mentioned they didn't have boxes (which I wasn't expecting), but then she just dropped the mug into a plastic bag with no wrapping or protection at all, and said, "be careful." Come on, even Walmart does better than that. I asked if I could have another small bag to cushion the mug, and she hesitated, stared at me, and said, "It won't help." I kind of laughed, and told her I'd still like to try. She eventually gave me one, but it was a weird interaction. The store wasn't busy, and there was no line behind me, so I thought it was a pretty reasonable request. I get that Spencer's is a bit unconventional, and maybe they have rules about bag use, but they really need to offer some tissue paper or something for fragile items. Despite the odd experience, the store's fun vibe and unique products make me want to return--because, well, it's Spencer's, and that's just part of the charm!

I was overwhelmed with the organization and variety this store had. It's nice and spacious, inspiring, and very cute. We were worried about going in right at opening time but there was a lady working who was also doing a morning scrapbook class of 1 other lady (I assume it's a small class given that they were sitting at long opened tables covered with crafting supplies) who greeted us kindly. She checked on us once while we strolled, and then was very friendly upon checking out. My partner and I just got married so we got a few things to start a new scrapbook beginning with our honeymoon. And we also picked up a DIY calendar which is something I've actually never seen before! Very excited to start our new projects.
