There are so many options from stickers to beads, paint stuff, seeing stuff, wool, basically just about anything you can think of in arts. The staff is limited but very helpful. They are ever ready to answer your questions however basic they may be. You can get easily lost in their aisles creating projects in your head. I spent 2 hours and still could catch up only half the store ! Prices are reasonable. They have altered and in some cases completely removed their coupon options which could have been more attractive on the wallet , nevertheless, one or the other specials are always going on in store. Must visit again.

Ordering online is so inconvenient. Additionally, ordering online does not provide options for substitutions. Luckily on my last order, I ordered additionally items to have for the future since it was a sale. However one of the items was not available. No contact to make a replacment choice. So the extras I purchased became part of what I needed for the event. Plus, the bonus reward I was trying to obtain for a certain amount purchased was not given to me because I didn't receive all the items I planned for my purchase. Hoping the online platform improves and quicker access to pick up items makes online purchasing more convenient in the future.

A Caucasian older woman who worked there on a Saturday afternoon approached me and said that she's going to hold on to my items. She did not state a reason or policy for why she had to do that, and I didn't feel comfortable with that idea, but before I could say anything she had already reached out for my items in my hand and walked away to place them behind the register. Within that same interaction, she ushered me towards the clearance section of the store, and sort of left me there. I had no desire to look at the things in the clearance section, and at this point I'm feeling annoyed. Why not ask me if there was something in particular that I'm looking for? I actually was there for a certain item, and could have used the help. I walked around the store for another 5 minutes, but could not stay longer because our interaction did not sit well with me. I honestly felt disgusted. When I went to the counter to get my items back, she told me the reason why she took them up. She believed the items I had at my possession were from her hallmark store, and later realized they were from another store (my receipt was clearly visible in the book). My question is, if she thought I was holding merchandise from her store , why not offer me a small shopping basket instead of taking up the items? There were lots of them at the front of the store that she could have offered me. Hypothetically, lets say that I did have items from the hallmark store in my hands, why can't I hold on to them as I continue shopping? Another thing was that bothered me was how she clearly inspected my things as she walked away with them. Why not give them back immediately if she knew they weren't from her store? Why assume that my shopping experience should begin at the clearance aisle? Anyways, I will not be going back to this hallmark location. But if anyone reads this, please beware of this particular staff member that might be watching and judging you. And if you are this staff member that's reading this, shame on you.

There is such a variety of styles and sizes of Talavera pottery that you would be hard pressed not to find something to your liking. They don't just have ribbon--they have a ribbon room. They don't just have ornaments--they have an ornament room. Same for wreathes/garland as well as picks/sprays/branches. They have large items too, such as sleighs, artificial trees, and shopping mall quality vibrant statues/characters/displays. Most things are well-priced, however the large unique items will cost you much more than most of us will want to pay. Would I compare this place to the decorators warehouse up in Arlington/DFW?--absolutely. Both are awesome for Christmas decor.

Craftex - The Coolest Store in Houston Tucked onto a side…read morestreet in Bellaire, just off of Bellaire Boulevard near Hillcroft, is the amazing Craftex. I discovered the place through my friend, Greg Buchold. I had been admiring a Mardi Gras mask and wreath that he had put on his door and he told me about the place. I went looking for Mardi Gras stuff but was blown away by the extensive collection of cookbooks and design books that they sell, all discounted from retail list prices. But there was much much more. Just when I think I've seen everything there is to see in Houston, something new pops up on my radar. Check out the photos.
