They never have what I need in stock. I've been to this store off and on four different times -- they are always out of the acrylic clear .12 string and the colors of .8mm beads that I need. And they don't have any clear acrylic boxes/display boxes, except large ones that are shaped for footballs. Note to self: Call ahead to check rather than just pop in. Big plus is the 50 percent off a single item I got online on the Michaels' website. And you can pick up a coupon at checkout for $5 off if you spend $25.00. Also ample parking. Staff there do answer questions and try to help, which is great. But often, they just say whatever they have is what you see on the shelves...they don't seem to know when things will be restocked. *sigh* Not all Michaels are created equal. When I went to return the items in store I was refused refund bc there was "no evidence I paid for them ". This location is smaller and more compact then many of the other locations. However, I do like that there is plenty of parking. This location gets pretty busy and messy at times; after shopping here, my hands feel so dusty and dirty. There is a second floor which is mainly frames, including custom frames. The restroom is also upstairs. They don't have as huge a selection of stamps and scrapbooking items like the other stores, but they seem to have a great selection in art supplies (pencils, markers, paper, brushes, etc). I come here pretty frequently and it seems like the turnover rate in employees is high, always a new set of zombies. As long as you avoid the zombies, and know what you're looking for you'll be ok. If you're not already on their email list, check their website for coupons and deals at your select location before stopping by. I tried out their "buy online and pick up in store" deal. The process was pretty easy online and you get a confirmation email once your order was received and a follow up email for when your order is ready for pick up. The store seemed organized and the person who assisted me to the bathroom (only reason i went in) seemed generally nice but upon walking into the bathroom i feel bamboozled! Why would he happily show a customer to this ridiculously dirty and disgusting smelling bathroom. the toilet paper dispenser wasnt even mounted on the wall and feces and urine were splattered over the toilet seat. part of a good customer experience is a clean bathroom, as someone who's worked retail i've cleaned them myself, so its definitely something that needs improvement. if you've gotta go! We recently went to Michaels to have a picture framed. It was a vintage canvas that required special handling and we had the good fortune to meet Hamriet. She has greater than 20 years of experience with framing and She worked with us to have our canvas framed as if it would hang in a museum. Her attention to color and matting was wonderful. Not the best Michael's I have been to. The place is small and can get confusing. It is also quite difficult to find someone when you need help. The store is sort of old, musty, and unorganized. I am not into arts and crafts, but it seems like they do not have all the basic items I need when I AM in the mood to be crafty. It takes me three rotations even before I can find half of the things I need, and that can put a damper on my artsy mood, which doesn't happen often. The store always seem to be out of stock of seasonal items even before the season, except for Christmas. Other stores usually inspire me once I walk in, not this store. I walk in and I want to leave right away! They can have great deals, that is if they even have enough in stock. Parking is horrible and is usually a mess. Small and compact and unorganized. There will always be a wait on the check out line. The line is tad confusing, "Where does it start? Where do I go?". If you want to use a coupon, make sure to download it before you even go, otherwise it will take you forever since there is hardly any reception in the store. The register people are nice. Some are slower than others though. If you do decide to come here, make sure you are not in a rush because you will need more than a map to navigate this place. read more

Lately my hobby had been crocheting, and I come here because I find their yarn selection to be slightly better than Joanns Fabrics. Same large brand names just different types and some fun fashion yarn too. It's funny when I see their stock go on sale, because it isn't much of a sale. Perhaps only a dollar or so cheaper than normal list price. I would say just sign up to be on their mailing list and/or get their app just for the 50% off regular price, save more with that coupon on a regular day. You'll be lucky if you find a staff member that is helpful on the floor, but wait time at checkout is quick even with a long line. I love that all the staff are wearing masks and gloves, makes me feel like they are prioritizing health and safety. During this coronavirus pandemic, I'm so glad they offer curbside pickup (can be a bit slow sometimes), and even allowed walk-in shopping as well. I love to just walk around and see everything they offer because there is such a huge variety of craft materials, paints, gift boxes, decorations, and so much more !! Even though the pricing can be a bit on the high side, you can guarantee it's quality. Even when I had so return multiple items, the staff was very helpful and it went very smoothly. This review is in particular and specific for the framing department. I've had several of my paintings framed here and I've experienced diminishing service every time. Armando, in particular, has been flippant and unhelpful, whether touching the oil painting itself, smudging the paint, or incorrectly finishing the order (I.e. not putting on the wire). The level of service has just been decreasing in quality and has become to a point, where I cannot defend coming here to do any more custom framing. It's atrocious. read more

This is pertaining to the Aaron Brothers stores that Michaels has absorbed for custom framing. DO NOT USE FOR CUSTOM FRAMING. Been in twice and experienced terrible customer service. Straight up ignored at the custom framing counter both times, and ultimately had to ask for help; a simple 24x36 matboard cut request was cut to 24x30 and then met with a shrug and a suggestion to try a different color that didn't work with my art; a second matboard cutdown was handed to me with a bent corner, a special order matboard hasn't materialized after three weeks when promised in a week, with no phone calls about it; and truly egregious upselling for products and service worth a fraction of what they're charging (take it from me, I worked at an Aaron Brothers 20 years ago - the value was questionable then and is way worse now). Mostly this is about shabby standards. They're charging premium prices and screw up simple requests, delivering compromised service and materials. How could anyone trust them to handle artwork that can cost in the hundreds or thousands? The mousy brunette with glasses should be fired. Seriously incompetent. I've never met someone worse at their job. If it wasn't wasting my time it would be comical. read more

Although this location is so close to me, I wish they had more stuff for Cuttlebug & Cricut! They have the same old embossing folders for the Cuttlebug and hardly any die cuts. This is an updated review for their scrapbooking section. I realized after coming here a few times to see what new stuff they have, they end up having exactly what was on their shelf from like a month ago! So disappointing. Like seriously, when are you going to stock up on your ink pads? I need more than just the black color, give me a variety! I'll give them credit for their selection of punches though! You got to love Michaels. They got discounts left and right. I also found out that different stores carry different items. They have so many items in the store for all seasons. I get a sensory overload on what do I need when this happens. The items are mostly made in china or imported. So don't expect quality items. I bought items online and the nice gentleman helped me return my items without the receipt. I did have the order information with me, so he had to input each item for the return. Spent so much time arguing with the manager for nothing but his confusion. His attitude and the way he talked was ridiculous. He acted like I was cheap and stupid who doesnt know the math. So he offered to do the math for me! Nice! and It was me to actually came up with an idea to stop his confusion about "buy on get one free". Here is the whole story, I bought a frame with and offer "buy 1 get one free". I decided to take the smaller frame which was cheaper instead of the same one. Two days later, I went back to Michael's and wanted to exchange the small one( the free one)to the same one that I purchased for. I took only the small one and a recipt with me. I told one of the cashier and she totally understood everything. She called the manager to help her out and that started everything. He came and said that I needed to pay for a different. I was like why? And he explained so many things about why I need to pay for the different. It all didnt make senses. He said "you dont understand what I am saying" and I said no I dont cuz it doesnt make sense. He offered to do the math for me and said that I made him confuse. In the end I told him to check how much it would be if I got the frame and pick the same one for the free one. He said this is what Im gonna do, he did his things and it turned out to be even. It was exactly the same price i paid two days ago. Where was the different that I need to pay regarding to him? After he found out, he said ok this is mine and that is your done ok? Sigh... Every time I come here, they never have what I want in stock. I'm not looking for anything unique. For example yesterday I showed up looking for vellum paper. They literally had no vellum paper in stock except for zebra print and hot pink... Customer service is lacking. It's difficult to flag down a worker. Even though I say "excuse me" to grab the attention of workers passing by, they don't stop. Their price labeling is not that accurate either. I tried to use my mobile 40% coupon on a regular price item. When the cashier rang it up, he wouldn't accept it. He said the item was not on sale.
