For my review #420, I'd like it to land here at 'Lakeshore Learning Store,' Pasadena, CA. I frequented this branch was because I used to work in Arcadia, CA. during the 1st year of the Pandemic. I've stocked up my own Felt story sets here, but then later I found out some of the 'Felt Board' story pieces turn out cheaper from Amazon. Still I would need to stock up from here. Since I always work with extremely young kids, I've needed quite a bit of materials, Lakeshore Learning Store never disappoints if you need something in a hurry and can't wait for Amazon that is. My earlier visit today on Friday, Dec/9/22 was a fabulous experience yet again~I was provided individual service and care since I was shopping the poster section for my upcoming classroom. I must have stocked up 1/2 dozen of posters and a sales lady walked over to check on me. She even helped me Laminate my classroom's posters! All I need to do is cutting them individually. I've bought my Circle Time Calendar here as well. Of course, I stocked up on another 1/2 dozen of ECE books but already got a ton at home. Will most likely return here again for another trip of classroom supplies next week. Upcoming new job from Arcadia, CA. again will allow us teachers a budget reimbursing us, but I make sure I don't overspend. The books will be mine to stay with me though then I'll just bring to work by the week.

Love this place! This is where I am getting my Xmas present done. I wish they had syllable posters though. Very amazing staff. I get asked if I'm doing ok every other minute but it's ok, I know if I need help it's there.

This store is so AWESOME! I work for a middle school and i have a blast coming here to buy any supplies we need. Yes it is very expensive here but the quality is good and the service is great. I would rather spend extra money on good stuff rather to save money and buy cheap materials. They have everything you can possibly need for projects or learning tools. I finally joined the free teachers club to get coupons and i got this free cool tote. The staff is so helpful and friendly, they gave me info on free activities for the kids on the weekends and other cool tips to help me on the ideas i had. Check them out, you will be surprised. FUN!

As a middle school principal and a former teacher, I've always struggled with Lakeshore. Granted, they have some cool stuff, and prices-- while on the high side-- are not unreasonable. But me? Like many teachers, I think Harbor Freight and Home Depot are better teacher supply stores. Don't buy those two-color counters to teach integers... Get over to the Home Depot and buy a bag of nylon tile spacers. They're shaped just like a +, and you can cut them to look like - signs. Measuring cups, pipe cleaners, magnifying glasses, rulers, angle grinders, mitre saws... Ok, those last two probably don't belong In a sixth grade classroom, but save your money, be a little creative, and teach! As for Lakeshore, they have the same stuff, just packaged better, maybe a prettier color... It's one stop shopping, and it's convenient. Maybe I'm cheap. Maybe I like the excuse to go to my favorite "toy stores." Lakeshore relies on you failing to do internet research or collaborating with colleagues to find a cheaper way to acquire manipulatives and support learning. Do what you gotta do, but with a little creativity (or the ol' "beg, borrow, & steal") the little lightbulbs will glow over your kids' heads.

This place is amazing for learning and teaching tools for kids from 3 to 11. I used to go here with my daughter when she was young. There is a great science section... an excellent arts and crafts section... and a truly superb section on help books for math, language, history, and English. If you want your child to succed in this competative world, this place offers the tools to do it.

The emphasis, though, is primarily new and recent comics. Passing through on a rainy afternoon I was pleased to find its location is near a few important stops in Pasadena, and there's some parking available in the private lot. I was mostly there to check out the selection and see if they specialized in anything unique. Not to say they don't, but it's still a well-stocked store. I was the only customer and enjoyed the classic jazz playing in the background. Pro Tip: Most established comic shops have subscription plans paid annually, or one-time up front. A customer goes through Comic Book Geek to pick their titles and sometimes preferred cover art, and the shop pulls their requests and holds them until the customer picks up the stash.

Now, they were all no Stewart comic book store but out of all of the ones in the area, this was the best by far. Chill vibes, plenty of comics, easy access, and easy to purchase at the end. Only critiques I would give it would be to have a little more for the other collectors. And what I mean by that, have a couple more action figures, Funko, pops, etc. that will probably bring in some more people for sure. The other thing would bethe music playing in the speakers. Didn't care too much for the rock, but still all in all, nice place to go. There's plenty of parking and easy to find.

30 YEARS OF BUSINESS IN PASADENA AND NOT EXTINCT!…read more I was one of those dinosaur kids growing up and I know I would have loved this place if I visited as a kid. Heck, learning of its existence, I love it even now as an adult. Everything is very dinosaur themed and very geared towards both children and the community. They have events that support the community too such as book readings and much more. Make sure to join their email list before checking out. I love that they also have cute dinosaur themed gift wrapping paper too. I think a neat touch that they have is all the dinosaur art that they have on the walls as well as the cute dinosaur trinkets and toys that they have all around. I love the variety of little plastic dinosaur figurines that they have. Probably the most diversity of species that I have seen and in the most sizes too. Some which I have never even heard of, so much more than the stereotypical T-rex and Triceratops that you can find anywhere else. Also, fear not, there are toys and other goods for the other children in your family/party who may not be as dinosaur inclined if that is your worry. I got a really neat Dinosaur Farm t-shirt there (they come in blue and green) and a little figure for my desk. It def more of a toy store geared towards children than a super educational museum store towards geeky adults, but that's fine with me too! As a dino enjoyer, I support all ventures into the prehistoric practice!

Located on the corner of Main Street and Garfield Ave, it is a great place to visit while going for a stroll in the heart of downtown Alhambra. Plenty of great eateries and cinemas in the vicinity as well. A free parking garage is conveniently accessible right behind the shop, in addition to street parking. Although the shop is small, they were able to feature hundreds of items without it being overwhelming. As a newbie to the current line of collectibles, Top Canvas serves as a great introduction to the new trend. As I walked in, a young woman politely greeted me and offered me assistance. Upon request, she promptly directed me to the Mofusand plushies and a wall of keychains. She took down the plushies from the shelves, so I could take a good look at all of them. And then, I spotted one very adorable Hello Kitty plushie holding a strawberry which totally makes a great Valentine's Day gift. For less than twenty bucks, I quickly secured my choice and went on to explore the rest of the shop. The average prices range from $9.99 to $29.99, so you can build up your collections without breaking the bank. Top Canvas is a great place for buying gifts on a budget, as they offer so many cute things for under $20. I also purchased 2 Lokiki blind box plushies as gifts. The gift recipient seems to love it, because it's always fun to open up a blind box. She totally adores her Lokiki plushie. Without a doubt, the highlight of my visit is the wall of Mofusand keychains! At $9.99 each, big or small, these are just too darn cute to pass up. I want them all!! Some of the more expensive and fragile collectibles are showcased behind glass. Great for avid collectors!! Tired of shopping on Amazon like me?? Then support your local business and come to Top Canvas. It's so much more fun to go shopping at a brick-and-mortar store where one can actually physically feel and touch what they're buying.

There is a free public parking structure behind the store. Some of their blind boxes are slightly cheaper than same boxes at other similar collectible stores. The anime selection is above average and there's a giant Capsule Corp background (from Dragon Ball) and a giant Luffy figure (from One Piece) to take pictures with. The One Piece trading card vending machine was out of service at the time of my visit. This is one of those stores that is great to at least stop by for those who are into anime or Sanrio plushies. Personally, I still prefer Ebisu Life Store a bit better. P.S. - Due to limited availability of pennies, cash totals are rounded to the nearest $0.05.

Naturally as he is a toddler he had removed some toys from the aisles and left some out as I was chasing after him it was hard for me to also be cleaning up. I acknowledge I could have done better and cleaned up after him but I've been having some pain in my back and it was just hard for me running around after him in addition to cleaning up. The part that was so bad was the attitude of the people working the shop. He got so angry at me telling me he was picking up after my kids mess. I felt really bad and embarrassed and said sorry so many times but his attitude stayed the same. Mind you we were paying customers and as my mom was purchasing a toy I simply asked whoever was working at the cashier to be a little kinder to the customers and he doubled down telling me I made a mess and was incredibly rude. Again, I could have done better by cleaning up but there needs to be a little more kindness in the customer service of a children's toy store and maybe some understanding that the parents are doing their best. It's a children's toy store after all. Reading the reviews here and seeing so many others who had bad customer experience as well. No greeting no smiling nothing, you wonder why this store is empty most of the time. I will not be coming back and if what you're looking for is a positive happy experience buying your kid a toy do not come here. I'm sure the owner will respond and blame my child and me for making a mess, but that is clearly not the point. The energy and attitude he was just awful and ruined my entire day
