This cue little boutique specializes in gourmet food and gift items that you typically don't see everywhere else. I came here last Friday for a special shopping event to support Pasadena Humane. The owner Maddie Romo graciously donated 10% of the evenings sales to PH. We were treated to wine while we shopped and nibbles of some of the store's specialty gourmet products. This place is adorable! They carry a wide assortment of goods - clothing, soaps, books, jewelry, cooking supplies, kitchenware, barware, trinkets.... There is something for everyone here. While browsing through all their wonderful selections I was thrilled when I came across Southern Belle Jalapeño Cranberry Sauce & Jumpin' Jack BBQ Sauce. My friend makes them, so I had to take a picture to send to her. There were so many cute things in the store that I wanted for myself. It was hard for me to maintain self-control and just stick to my holiday shopping list. Maddie was so delightful as was the other gal that worked there. They were both friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Next time I need a unique gift or want to treat myself to something fun I'll be coming here. Tip: There are a number of cool shops and restaurants in the area so make a day out of it and explore. There is free street parking and in a lot behind the shops.

Overall, I enjoyed visiting this store. I recommend you visit.

Leonora have THE artistic eye for the most beautiful fall foliage. I would say that the florals were the highlight of my wedding, and I still smile looking through photos of all the beautiful flowers from my special day. While I am not well-versed in flowers and plants, Lorie still knew exactly what we wanted each meeting and was able to bring the appropriate vase and plant/flower examples. I think after the second meeting, I decided to "trust the artist and trust the process" and let her exercise her vision within our budget - she definitely delivered above and beyond! When I saw my bouquet and florals, I literally gasped in joy because I loved them so much! While the actual wedding day was a whirlwind, I vividly recalled I would look at the floral details throughout the day and it would bring a smile to my face. I wished I could take alllll the flowers, arrangements, and centerpieces home at the end of the event because I loved them so much. I would highly recommend her services for your events. Stop by the charming shop in Sierra Madre and see for yourself!

The jewelry is handcrafted, and many pieces include the artist's name and a short bio, which adds such a personal touch. They also carry candles, bags, greeting cards, and products for men, women, and children. The variety is impressive, and I especially appreciated the large selection of handcrafted items. The associates are friendly, welcoming, and genuine. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I noticed they recognized and acknowledged repeat customers. That's impressive, especially considering the number of tourists who visit the store. Another thing I appreciated is that they don't overwhelm you with emails. Their emails are event-focused and purposeful, which is refreshing. You're paying for quality, craftsmanship, and unique items you won't find just anywhere. The prices reflect the specialty merchandise they carry and the care that goes into selecting it. Parking... well, it's Pasadena! It can be challenging, with mostly metered street parking and paid parking garages nearby, but it's a pleasant walk to the store. I highly recommend Homage! It's a wonderful place to find unique gifts or treat yourself to something special.

Not just books! Not to mention their book selection is stellar and on point. When I went here recently (I come here often), they had an author speaking upstairs, and plenty of chairs out for an audience. Upstairs, they have tons of boxed cards and single cards, and again, lots of things that you may have not known you needed - or wanted to gift someone. I can truly spend hours in this bookstore. They also have additional seating and another drink menu inside as well. Literally, something for everyone! The prices are normal and I'm so happy to support local business in any way that I can. They also share a parking lot in the back with Total Wine and a couple other retailers. I had no idea! But definitely helpful. All this to say - worth checking out, and just know that you'll spend a ton of time here. It's good vibes all around - a perfect place to visit on a weekend, but really, anytime!

Having seen his work just walking by, and small run-ins with his work at fairs and local restaurants, I decided to approach him with a near-impossible request -- I am the youngest of 8, and my father passed away in 2021. He drank coffee from the same mug every morning for over 40 years, but only one of us was able to take home that piece of him. It was a unique style, as all pottery is, so I've been sitting on this project for a few years. Yao was not only up to the challenge, but we discussed timeline (not important; I said they'd be ready when they're ready as long as it's by Christmas) and agreed that he would give it a try! Several weeks later, he let me know that he was still working but had finally nailed the unique shape. Several weeks later then, he let me know that he has finished them, but would like to keep trying because the unique (40+ year old glaze) was difficult to replicate and he'd like to try again. Three batches of eight later, Yao produced some of the most beautiful mugs I could have imagined. My family is so grateful, and I can say with full confidence that I will recommend One Cup Studio as long as Sierra Madre is lucky enough to have such a wonderful shop!! We've got a few of his original pieces in our home; his bud vases are precious and his bowls and tea cups are so pretty - but I will be forever grateful for the best Christmas gift I've ever pulled off - and I couldn't have done it without Yao's care and mastery!!!
