Deeeeeeeeeeeffffffinatttttlleyyyyyyyyy my go to place for everything arts and crafts. Also the second love of my life. I'm pretty much here religiously, even if that means walking out with nothing. It's really where I go to think about my "next project". {I have so many "next projects"} The staff are generally friendly, there is this really sweet girl at the cash register with curly black hair. Other than that I'm either literally searching for an employee, or am completely ignored. So I usually don't try to ask for help anymore. ‍ oh well It's still my favorite place even though the staff seems short handed and hard of hearing.

Needed the LA Times Sports page framed after the Lakers won the Championship. Ring 17. Michael's did a great job. The framer was excellent, helped me get the frame I needed, and the job was immaculate. Highly recommend this shop. Thank you.

If arts and crafts are your thing, then you have just ventured into a virtual paradise when you trot into Michaels. My daughter likes to drag me here for all her crafting needs, and let me tell you: they have EVERYTHING. I don't even know where to start. If you're doing something artsy, they've got you covered. Parking: Tons of parking. Giant lot. Staff: Generally friendly. Sometimes they hide and do "stocking" rather than helping customers. Bit funny, but who can blame them. Prices: I'm not a huge art guy, but the prices have always struck me as reasonable. I haven't noticed any obscene prices. Overall, a wonderful store for arts, crafts, and school projects. 4 stars!

    Does Michael's do custom framing?

Yes. But check diff locations for pices. (They tell yoy to go in). I've got to Ventura and gotten a VERY didf price than Camarillo and Simi. (Cam was better for the exact same thing).

I've been around card shops for a long time, and most places get one or two things right. This place gets everything right. The selection is fantastic, the shop is clean and well organized, and it actually feels like a space designed for players, not just transactions. You can tell immediately that this isn't just a store, it's a community hub. What really sets it apart is the people. The staff are knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely care about the players walking through the door. That's not something you can fake, and it shows in how the community shows up. Whether you're brand new to TCGs or deep in the hobby, you feel like you belong there. They also do a phenomenal job supporting events and keeping the scene active. There's always something going on, and it creates that energy that great local game stores used to have, but a lot of places have lost. If you're anywhere near Simi Valley and into trading cards, this place isn't just worth checking out, it's worth going out of your way for. Absolute gem.

They are hard-ish to find, they are in the industrial area in the west end of Camarillo. and you need to call ahead if you have specific parts that you need-because during Covid they closed off their warehouse, so you have to order by items now instead of browsing the aisles. But they are super nice & easy to work with. :)

They don't stock much of anything relating to ICs or transistors, but you'll find a selection of chassis, and hardware items to build up your prototypes. T One downside is that since they have so few walk-in customers, you can't get in to the parts area without waiting for one of the phone support people to break free and walk you over to the parts area. Another down side is that much of their shelf stock is very old. Spray cans of solvent may be half-empty from can leaks, and electrolytic aren't necessary going to be fresh. But with components like fans, relays, transformers, resistors, etc. that won't matter. They also carry hand tools, tool cases, heat-shrink, solder, connectors, adapters, plugs... just a lot of other stuff to create and repair electronic projects. Their pricing is not particularly cheap. The people working there (mostly in cubicles doing phone orders) are very nice.

For years I wanted to dive into tabletop Warhammer, but I didn't have friends who played and I'm naturally a little shy in situations like that. It honestly took me a long time to finally walk through the door at the Thousand Oaks Games Workshop... and I'm so glad I did. The owner, Jordan, is truly one of the kindest and most welcoming people you'll meet. He clearly loves the hobby and genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience, whether you're brand new or a longtime player. The store itself is fantastic. They have dedicated demo stations where you can: * learn how to play the game * learn how to paint your first miniatures That alone makes getting started way less intimidating. The selection is excellent too, including a full range of Citadel paints. And if there's ever something they don't have in stock, there's an in-store ordering station where you can get exactly what you need directly from Games Workshop. They also have two large terrain tables set up for hobby meetups and games, and there's clearly a strong community forming around the shop. Honestly, this place is special. If you're on the fence about starting Warhammer like I was, just stop in and say hello. Jordan and the team will have you hooked in no time. Highly recommend!

Nearly 20 years later...and spacemarine 2...Im back. To see an official Games Workshop close to where I live i had to come in. Boy does it bring me back. So about the store...the biggest and most important thing about GWS is the person who is there for you. Does he like what he does, is he passionate and the skills and knowledge behind that person. In comes Jordan. He is knowledgeable...he loves what he does. That man and his pure enthusiasm alone makes this shop. Everything else makes this place more than great. He helped me with picking the right paints and proceeded to help me an experienced painter with my technique. I can attest to going in and supporting him and this store. He is a rare breed of GWS staff everyone should at least come and visit the place and him.
