    Well... My high school daughter got pushy asking me to drive her to the games workshop... So I had not been to o this store in perhaps a year or longer and found they had everything you'd expect plus ... Of interest to us today was a miniatures painting session including a free miniature Space Marine figure to practice painting. I've always admired the Warhammer and similar Games Workshop games but never got involved. This day I had a long wait while my daughter painted and the store manager Jordan checked with us several times with a polite process ready to assist, ready to answer questions or demonstrate painting ... Or really handle ANY aspect about the Games Workshop games in his store. Impressive. Frankly, rating his business conduct five stars is NOT ENOUGH as 6+ stars were earned in my opinion. I've not seen such professionalism or focused enthusiasm from a game shop before. I'm a games enthusiast spanning 40+ years with historical military simulations, hex grid maps and cardboard "counters", 25mm miniatures like Flames of War, Starfleet Battles, board games like Cosmic Encounters, Diplomacy or Risk... Plus D&D or Metamorphosis Alpha. Countless other games but oddly enough not Warhammer yet? So I've been though tons of game shops to compare. So... Jordan was an impressive "quarterback" for the Games Workshop team today. As a result I'm looking at the Warhammer games with real interest.

    Great place. Super friendly staff, the free painting of the mini figs was a great time for the kids

They are always fully stocked with the largest RC cars and trucks and almost always have every color option available. Dustin or Justin (I couldn't tell from the non enthusiastic mumbled tone). "Helped" me out today. As a new RC enthusiast, I thought I would be greeted with a warm welcome, as I read on countless review's before. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Dustin (Justin?) brushed off my questions and gave a cold shoulder overall. *I bought a $200 rc from the store and still received a cold departure. I'm not asking for much, but what I do ask for is decent customer service. I know $200 may not be a lot to most people, but it is to me and the customer service or rather lack of ,turned me off from coming back to this establishment. I can only hope that management will hire more warm and welcoming employees to further encourage people to enjoy this hobby and not feel judged or incompetent. TLDR: Cold and unwelcoming experience. Something fun and special. They walked into this shop, and the man working there immediately barked at my daughter that she wasn't allowed in without shoes. To be clear, she had just come from Sky Zone Thousand Oaks and was still wearing her gripper socks, with her shoes literally in her hand. So yes, totally fair rule--but the delivery was unnecessary. Instead of just kindly asking her to put her shoes on, he was abrupt and harsh enough that she looked like she was about to cry. That was enough for them--they turned around and left without buying anything. It's a shame, because places like this should be encouraging kids to enjoy the hobby, not making them feel unwelcome over something that could have been handled in two seconds with a little kindness. We'll be taking our business somewhere that actually makes the experience fun.

    Subject: Outstanding Employee Recognition - Heather (Lando Canyon Store)…read more I'm writing to recognize Heather at your Michaels store on Lando Canyon for truly exceptional customer service. During my visit, I was searching for specific sketch pencils and met an elderly woman (around 80 years old) who was struggling to find certain paint brushes. She had already been looking for quite some time, and I spent about 30 minutes helping her before we decided to call the store for assistance. Heather answered the call and came to the back of the store within minutes. She spent significant time helping us locate the exact paint brushes needed (sizes #2 and #8), searching inventory, scanning items, and even helping us find additional ones that were on sale so the customer could purchase the quantity she needed. She then continued helping me search for my items as well. What impressed me most was that while assisting us, Heather was also helping multiple other customers, answering questions, and supporting her team through her headset--all while remaining calm, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I have rarely seen someone provide this level of attentive, multitasking customer service with such a positive attitude. I did mention this to a manager in-store, but I wanted to ensure Heather receives formal recognition as well. She is an outstanding employee and a true asset to your team.

We clicked "ON OUR WAY", then arrived there, clicked on "I'M HERE" and then it asked what SPACE # we were parked in. We did all that, and screen said they'll be out soon with our order. Waited, waited, waited, sat there, waited, and finally called the store and asked if they knew we were sitting there. The girl said, "we don't have enough employees to bring your order out, so you have to come inside the store". We told her that's impossible, we're not dressed correctly to be getting out of the car (hence doing Curbside), and that we had our dogs with us & they were not leashed & can't be left in the car alone. The girl told us to go back home and basically change our clothing, get leashes, and then go back to the store, to go inside. We called Michaels Corporate Office in TX, and reported her and the incident. They gave us our money back, and apologized profusely, saying this was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and that this is NOT what Michaels stands for.
