Mero is one of my favorite stops for Pokemon in Ventura County! They have huge walls of nicer…read moresingles and slabs as well as sealed products. I can always appreciate the range from near mint to heavily played singles with fair pricing based on condition as sometimes you just want a card for your personal collection, not to ship to PSA. The brothers that run the shop have always been kind and I've had great offers for cards that I have brought to trade in. In addition to Pokemon, they have sealed Magic, Lorcana, and One Piece products for fair prices too. They have a wider variety of Pokemon singles displayed in binders, but upon my recent visit, I've noticed that they have expanded to One Piece and Disney singles as well. Aside from tcg, they also have older video games and consoles. I always enjoy my visit to Mero when I am in the area and love that hit of nostalgia when I stop by!

They will take the time to patiently explain the deals they currently have, what they don't have and have in stock, and suggestions on how you can get your game/cards/items as soon as possible. I've never encountered mediocre service at this store. It's always been above average to exceptional. The prices can be ok to great depending on what promotions they have going on, but luckily a dedicated staff member will help you get what you want or want adjacent at a reasonable price!

While I could see it being a nice place to play for some especially with it boasting many weekly events for a variety of card games (Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, Pokemon), I felt the sealed and single selections were both pricey and less plentiful compared to what I have seen at other shops. Some services such as the charging station are great to offer especially when games of commander can take up a an hour or more!

A birthday welcome sign was displayed, which I thought was a really nice touch. We were actually a few minutes late to our own party and Michael made sure that our guests were welcomed and could start playing and having fun! The price is extremely fair! He doesn't charge any additional fees to allow us to bring our own food in for the party, which was really nice because most places will. The boys had a good time bouncing back and forth between the VR and the other PlayStation games. It was perfect place for our celebration and we highly recommend it. It's also a great place for drop in while you're doing shopping at the mall if you have older kids!

Now that this location is closed, I can tell my experience without risk of them being fired. When I purchased a figure from there many years ago, the employee went on a long speech about membership. I declined and started to walk around the mall with my bag. I read the receipt and realized the most expensive item, the figure, hadn't been rung up. I don't like theft, regardless of if it's from a mom and pop shop or a chain. I don't know if that would have gotten him fired to let a $100 item go free, but I went back. Do better Gamestop. Membership sales shouldn't be the focus. No employee likes having to make a quota. My mom had to deal with that crap with Barnes & Noble.

This GameStop is on the second floor of the Ventura Mall. Unless he/she is swamped, the staff always greets people when they walk through the door. The staff always explains their membership and new products with patience and knowledge, and take the time to find cards or items you're looking for. Besides video games and consoles, there are plushies, T-shirts, Funko pops, and other miscellaneous items here. The store usually prices items high, but you can sometimes find good deals. Also, it's almost always busy when I come in here, so GameStop is still a happening place!

I came midweek to shop and look around, and I had a great experience. It's a smaller bookstore, but they did have a lot to choose from! I was especially happy to see that they keep up with new and trending authors/books that come out. But of course, they also had a broad selection of every type of book you could think of. Being a smaller independent bookstore they don't have mass quantity though so if you find a book you like you should grab it because they only have a copy or two of each. I found that the pricing was comparable to anywhere else but again when you shop here you're supporting local small businesses so even if it was a little pricier, it would be worth it to me. They had a cute child's/kids section in the back so it would definitely be a great place to bring your little one to look around or read a story. The vibes are welcoming, but I also appreciate when staff leave you to look around without standing over your shoulder. The gal working behind the register was super nice and checked me out with quickness, that I was in and out without issue.
