Came to buy "steam card". I have no clue what it is and I haven't owned a gaming device in over a decade so it's not a part of my generation. I bought it cause a girl told me to get it for her kids when I was visiting her. We ended up postponing hanging out so I had no use for the card. I came back to return it, but Dannell explained the policy of it being a currency card and there's no telling if I had redeemed it. It made no sense, but it dawned on me that she didn't state there were no returns prior to buying. I brought this to her awareness and she claimed something like "It's not up to me to assume what you do or do not know. I can't assume you knew what you were buying. You should've asked" ... If you like to pre-order Funko Pops, make sure you never do it at this store. I pre-ordered a pop back in August 2021, and I was patient to receive it because I know there's been a lot of issues with inventory and with shipping. I finally got a call last Friday (it is now March 2022, a whole seven months later) telling me that my pop had arrived and to come in or call back if I planned to pick it up. I was unable to go over the weekend due to work so I went in the following Monday, three days after the store called me, and was told that my preorder had been purchased because I didn't pick it up in time. I was never told that I only had a certain amount of time to pick it up, and I never received any kind of courtesy call that my item had been purchased. I know for a fact that GameStop's policy is to hold a preorder for seven days, so I figure one of the employees probably bought it and I was lied to. I just visited the Ventura Gateway Center GameStop to get joycons because of the drift I have on my current ones and I spoke to Kasia and Gabriel about my dissatisfaction with the previous controllers and they were so knowledgeable about everything and helped me get what I needed quickly, but also took some time to explain why a warrantee would be beneficial for me and also explained about the benefits of getting the yearly membership with GameStop, and I was sold. They were so sweet, kind, attentive, and personable which made my experience so much better. I've never had such a great experience going into a GameStop than today with Kasia and Gabriel there. I bought something from GameStop online and then showed up to their door where it said to call their number for assistance. They were supposed to close at 6pm. They were closed though with no explanation at all. They called me and said it was due to the riots. The employee did not sound polite at all to me. Yeah right! Ventura riots hahaha. If there was an option for Zero I would have selected zero and my rating has nothing to do with COVID-19 or being short staffed during this time. On September 17, 2020, my 2 sons met some friends at this GameStop' to wait in line to preorder the new PS5. They waited hours and were so happy when they received the tickets to be able to preorder the PS5 and both were in the store waiting to preorder. When my first son got to his turn the store manager Cassie (sp?) told him he was in a group and therefore could not preorder the PS5. She then allowed his 2 friends (also in "the group") preorder theirs and then came to my second son and told him he could not preorder because he was in a group and sent him out. She then let the 2 people in the group behind him preorder. When my son went in to inquire as to why? She kicked him out of the store and told him there were no more. I have called corporate 6 times and each time told that I had a valid complaint and I would be contacted within 3-5 days. I have not been! It is dispicable and unfair! There is camera footage as I told them but I get no response. They never answer the phones at that store either...there is more but you get the gist. I have tried to contact through their online option also. I've also been told she doesn't like red heads which both of my boys are . Not sure if that is true but wow! The store does not have a good reputation among the nearby GameStops also because I have called them all and spoken to their managers who told me this situation never should have happened and knew nothing about "groups " don't shop there and tell your friends not to shop there unless management changes! read more

Customers should only be allowed to sell back their games etc when there is MORE then one person working the registers. Waited over 30 min in line with 5 people ahead of me and it didn't move ONCE. So we put back our 4 NEW games and left for a different game store. Too bad Game Stop can't figure out how to make sure 6 customers are not inconvenienced at the expense of one person SELLING back their stuff. Not sure how that works for the stores bottom line? Lose customers paying for your games but keep the ones selling you their games.... Note to person working the register.. Communicate with the people waiting in line. Ignoring us does not work... Simply tell us how long the wait will be. It's hard not to be angry at you when your not doing anything to help the situation. I thought we were going to have to accept it as a loss until I brought it to this location. Surprise, they took it back and my kid is extremely happy. EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE - TOOK MONEY, CANCELLED ORDER WEEK LATER WITHOUT DUE NOTICE, AND NOT RETURNING MONEY. We brought in an old device for store credit and purchased a new PlayStation 4. We were told it's ordered and would arrive in a few days. Subsequent to promised arrival time, we got a message that the order was cancelled due to high demand. When we called costumer service - we were disconnected twice then third time advised to call the original store. At original store they said they cannot oasis credit and we need to call costumer service. They suggested they can call costumer service but we need to be in the store for that. The store manager Cassandra was less than helpful. Online, phone support and in store were useless. The store took the money, promised but then cancelled the order, and will not resolve the situation. Recommend not to do business with this outlet. read more

Hi i had previous ordered the Spiderman bundle for PS4 for 199.99 my package was delivered a week late and damaged. Then I sent it in to be replaces I have called since and they just tell me to wait 5 days before i call again and i have done this twice. But today i just received a refund and no bundle I called in tp explain this and they have told me there is nothing they can do when i call to speak to a supervisor they tell me they are currently on a long call and i cannot speak to them. Don't even bother shopping here unless you like shitty customer service. We tried to preorder a specific item, but the employee preordered the wrong thing. We had to buy it via their website. That was an ordeal. The order got canceled, the store said they couldn't do anything about it. We were on hold with Gamestop for hours before a rep "guaranteed" that we would get the item. 15 minutes after hanging up, we get an email saying the order was canceled. During the night of the Nintendo Switch midnight release, we waited nearly 30 minutes in line to prepay for our Switch. It wasn't busy. The cashier was just chatting with the couple ahead of us. The "manager" came up to us and asked if we were waiting to be rung up. Why else would we be standing in line? He did not offer to help us, but just said "oh, she'll be right with you." Supposedly, there was a bonus to trade-ins if it went toward a Switch. We did not get any bonuses. It seems like Gamestop likes to waste your time and take your money. This Gamestop used to be staffed with knowledgable people with great customer service skills. Not sure who hired the staff to run it now, but they did a piss poor job in hiring. Me and my roommate went here one day to pick up a game I had reserved online. When we got there we were contacted by two employees which was fine but the guy was not friendly whatsoever. When we finally made our way to the registers to get the game he wound up helping us. He seemed really annoyed that I had done a pick up order for him to do first thing in the morning. He hounded me about my pro membership being expired, if he hadn't hounded so much I would have renewed it. I wanted to used some of my shopkicks to pay for a portion of the game, and he proceeded to act very annoyed that I to use shopkicks. Rude / Crappy Service! Bring your money elsewhere! Been an on and off customer for years. Recently bought a Xbox One. So came back to burn some money and check out their used / new / upcoming games. Had a discount / member card a couple times over the last couple years. I was the only one in the store. The 2 girls at the back of the store at the counter look up, don't say anything, and go back to talking. I'm browsing and came up with a question but got distracted by another item. Grabbed a couple titles and was reading. Another older guy comes in, and starts liking in the same Xbox One section as me. One girl goes running over immediately and asks him what he needs help with. Is in deep convo with him about game options, what he likes etc. I keep browsing. When done she asks if he needed sometime to think them over. He says yes- she says "I'll be at the corner" Instead of acknowledging me, or asking "How about you? How are you doing? Need any help?" She just walks back to the counter. Me. The customer that was there first, ready to pick up 2 (minimum) titles for my new system. She only spoke to me one time to say "excuse me" to reach over me and grab a title that she was suggesting for the other customer. I turned around and walked out the door after about 5-10 minutes of waiting to see if anyone was going to ask me if I wanted help. So then I left and I went to TARGET; the place that I bought my Xbox one system, and was immediately greeted by one of the only two attendants in a very busy electronics section. I probably paid more money for the games then I would've at Game Stop (if I found them used), but it was worth it to actually be able to ask some questions, feel comfortable with my purchase and also feel appreciated for my time and my money. I won't buy from GameStop again. Date was 2/14/15. Came in about 1:45p. Was out about 2:10p Two girls, the one that came out to not help me was about 5ft 5 inches, darker hair, maybe glasses. i love game stop, but recently the customer service has been below average. I called every single day this past week for the restock of the switch because they had told me they would get a shipment sometime that week. The lady who I talked to at this location told me over the phone they didn't get any switches in the shipment, I then go in THE NEXT DAY and the same lady told me they got them yesterday and are all sold out! *Also signed up for the SMS alerts, no alert* I know this because she had told me she was the only one working the day prior (when I called).. I then ask can you look up where has it in stock, she rolled her eyes and continued on the computer. She remarked "you know that closest one will probably be like Northridge.. you know that's 3 hours away" LOL.. no it's not and she continued to argue with me? Either way it's my choice if I want to drive over there or not, she had already lied to me about the switches coming in stock, don't need to lie about how far Northridge is?.. lol just amusing.. I then left after she "found" one in van nuys.. I call the van nuys and no luck.. KASSIE OR CASSIE whatever her name is, is a complete compulsive liar and rude. Someone please fire her. This is our home store and I have not had any issues until yesterday. I bought a used wii and a game. After 3 hours we couldn't get either to work. we finally got a friends wii and tried the game which didn't work. I called the Nintendo Helpline and they said the Disc was probably a copy. Apparently, they look like official games but don't play. The wii has a bad reader and I have to return that as well. read more
