Every time I've been here, the staff have been extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They will take the time to patiently explain the deals they currently have, what they don't have and have in stock, and suggestions on how you can get your game/cards/items as soon as possible. I've never encountered mediocre service at this store. It's always been above average to exceptional. The prices can be ok to great depending on what promotions they have going on, but luckily a dedicated staff member will help you get what you want or want adjacent at a reasonable price!

But here, at Video Depot, I was transported to a time where life was simpler, slower, and my purchasing habits felt more deliberate. More restrained, selective, and meaningful. To be able to go in and be mesmerized by the shelves full of movies, CD's, comics, all the cool posters on the wall was extremely fun. I ended up getting some Scooby Doo DVD's and a sealed box set of VHS tapes that looked interesting and that I couldn't even find on eBay. Gina, the store owner, was an absolute sweetheart. Extremely warm and kind person. You can immediately feel her good energy and almost want to linger around in the store longer just to be around her. She reminded me so much of my grandmother :) She even gave me water and donuts. Overall, I left elevated. Which is in stark contrast to 80% of my online purchases where again, I'm left with buyer's remorse because I clicked a button thinking I wanted something and then it comes in the mail and I don't even want it anymore. The titles I picked up from Gina's store now have a story to them. A memory. Adds to the magic of the film.

As well as use of the fridge and freezer which was perfect for our ice cream cake. The service from Joe and Adolfo was incredible. They always were asking how they could help in any way from set up to clean up. The Game Exchange was new to some but everyone wanted to come back. The first employee immediately looked at me, and with a pretty obvious attitude said, "We only buy games before 6:30." Okay... how exactly was I supposed to know that? There was no prior reason for me to know their cutoff time, and it could have easily been communicated in a much more professional and respectful way. I decided not to make a big deal out of it and figured I'd browse the store and maybe buy something instead. Another employee asked if I needed help, and I told him I was just browsing. A little later, I asked him about some of the games on the wall and whether they were used. He said yes. I then asked what the games typically cost, expecting a simple answer from someone who works there. Instead, I was told, "You can just go check the sheet on the side to see what the games are worth." Seriously? I'm a customer asking a basic question about your store's inventory and pricing. I shouldn't have to feel like I'm bothering employees by asking for information. There's a huge difference between being busy and simply having poor customer service. It's absolutely no one's fault that most of you are virgins. Anywho, I walked in willing to sell some games and potentially spend money, and I walked out thinking, I'll take my business somewhere else. The video game selection may be decent, but customer service matters. If this is how customers are treated when they walk through the door, I can't recommend this place. I wrecked my poor Nintendo Switch's card reader a couple of nights ago, and instead of waiting…read moremonths to send it to Nintendo to get a replacement unit, I was able to take it here and get it repaired in a couple of days for the same price. The owner of the shop (I believe their name is Gina going off other reviews?) was very lovely, and instantly understood what needed to be done to get my Switch's game card reader working again. Needless to say, I learned my lesson with regards to handling my console, but I am very thankful to have found such a useful shop that I'm happy to recommend to game enthusiasts who want to keep their hardware working.
