The selection here simply cannot be found at big-box stores like Staples or Michaels. My girls love the variety of Copic markers, Posca pens, and art books. It's also a relief to shop here instead of Amazon because the prices are competitive, but you have the peace of mind that you are buying authentic, high-quality products. I recently had a project involving brass and copper fabrication, and was able to find almost everything I needed, except the sheet metal itself. This store doesn't have everything but they do have some nice oil and watercolor paints and other supplies. I don't know if any other art stores in the area that carry high-quality artist paints. This store has gone COMPLETELY downhill. Apparently they "display" limited edition spray cans that are not for sale behind a metal table. The reason was that the limited edition can we wanted to purchase is "no longer shipped from the factory" I looked it up, and the can I was searching for is still available and definitely can be shipped from the factory. Well... yes because it's a limited edition can. If you don't plan on selling it don't have it sandwiched between two cans that actually are for sale. Seems fishy to me that you won't sell a can that's displayed with a bunch of other cans for sale. Other than that the materials seem to have been marked up, about 2 dollars up from typical art store prices. I'm excited to receive my limited edition can straight from the factory for a non marked up price because of "exclusivity." read more

What a great experience and well worth the drive. Where have all the great Art Stores gone? When you want something that resembles a real art supply store...not a Michaels or a Hobby Lobby...come here!!!! Ample parking in a well-stocked store! I was greeted instantly upon walking in and was welcomed by so many art supplies-different brands and kinds with excellent pricing!!! The employees are knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Before I came in I called to make sure that they had the specific items I was looking for-the gentleman on the phone was more than happy to check and let me know if they had it in stock or not. I came in and bought what I needed and they had such great prices on so many other items I picked up some brushes, paper and drawing pencils... I really loved everything about the store, customer service, excellent products !!!! Come by you won't regret it. Down the street from Trader Joes/Jinky's, between Kanan & Chesebro off the 101. I was shopping for certain tubes of oil paint, certain colors, they had the ones I was looking for (at a 40% sale), and several other brands -- maybe 7 in all! Decisions, decisions! What a precious gem of an art store located here in the valley... I literally walked in for one thing... And end up leaving with five other things I didn't even know I wanted... Well, basically the only place to get Copic Markers in the Conejo Valley area. And last time I went, they were marked down about $1ea (Copic is professional quality & super expensive). So those two things alone earn them 5 stars in my book. Also, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Plus, in addition to Copic, they sell basically everything serious/professional artists could need. Previously, I've bought a lot of my supplies on amazon. But there's always a risk you're getting knock offs on there. Plus, I like to support local small businesses. Definitely gonna be buying my art supplies here going forward. read more

That's how happy I am. The store is filled with lots of stuff that an artist of all levels may need. I was greeted and helped with immediately. The young lady who helped not only was very nice but guided me and helped me get what I needed and even made a few suggestions that made sense to me and my needs. I called this store looking for a specific item, the person who helped me gave me a price of $39.99. When I arrived, I was able to pick out my item and check out. Since I am a student, I get the offered discount, but this particular visit, the grumpy owner said he's already taken the discount off from $59, but that was not the original price he told me over the phone, nor was that the price on the item. Frustrated, he asked "do you want it or not?" How rude! He was bad mouthing other companies that sell the same products that he does. After telling me that his inventory is worth $600,000, I would like him to know that he will be keeping his inventory as I will be shopping at places that have better prices and appreciate my business. I found the same items on Amazon, Michaels, and Joann's, all which can give me better deals and better service. Do not recommend. read more

Such a great experience shopping here today! I came for some Christmas gifts and had no idea what I was doing on a craft store. First off, this place is hands down better better going to the chain craft stores Secondly, the customer service I received was so AWESOME I had to leave a review! The guy working the counter simply asked me what I am looking for, took the time to ask me about my son's age and what he's into to try and help me make good choices. I could tell he genuinely wanted to help me and I super appreciated that he gave me zero judgment about my purchase budget and was able able deliver some really thoughtful and exciting gift choices for my son based on his age and interests. Graphaids is the only place around here to get quality art supplies. The stuff is legit, the prices are fair, and they seem to always have most things in stock. I don't really get why people have a problem with the staff... they do not bug you or pressure you to buy stuff, which last time I checked is a seriously great thing. They have always been knowledgeable and helped me when I've asked. They are also all artists so they do know what they're talking about and have always been very friendly.
