First off, this place is hands down better better going to the chain craft stores Secondly, the customer service I received was so AWESOME I had to leave a review! The guy working the counter simply asked me what I am looking for, took the time to ask me about my son's age and what he's into to try and help me make good choices. I could tell he genuinely wanted to help me and I super appreciated that he gave me zero judgment about my purchase budget and was able able deliver some really thoughtful and exciting gift choices for my son based on his age and interests. The amount of art supplies in here is crazy. Having only gone into Micheal's, this is a big difference. I came in here looking for Liquitex pouring medium as all other art stores are sold out! The man behind the register said that dirty pours are very popular and he doubted he had any. But that was fine as I did need other supplies. Soft body paint and high flow ink. I ended up wandering in this store. Which is good because I was looking into buying a sketch pad and some nice pencils. Poor customer service - There's a difference between helping and preventing - for example if I need a product it great this kid help me try to find it but it was really felt like he just confronting my needs - instead of asking questions on why I need product I needed - like clove oil he could ask why I need it - he did not do not - point is he there helping me or preventing something else ? Not good then I needed canvas that is without texture such as wood - again same plus it was over priced not much I would of gladly pay extra to keep small local businesses to grow but I choice to walk out never will I go into that store - I will get all my supplies else if it means to drive extra hour to get it - to be fair it only this one person in this store read more

I love the new location! New, fully stocked store, great service, and great artwork for sale now too! If they don't have what you need, they will order it for you very quickly. This is an extraordinary store that carries a wide variety of supplies in almost every medium. I don't understand the dissing of the staff. I've always found them friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. What they don't do is hang over you pressing you to buy something. Graphaids gives educational discounts and sends fliers to your email from time to time for special discounts. And they're a REAL artist's resource. I love this store. I try to support independent businesses anyway but their selection is great so I come here instead of going to Michael's. They offer a 30% student discount too (inquire within). I try to not go in there with any bags or leave my purse open because art stores have big theft issues and I don't want them to have to worry about me (something for us all to consider). Amazing professional art supply store. Huge selection of top of the line materials. On the rare occasions that they don't have what you want, they'll order it and have it in a day or two. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are competitive - even without the 30% off "no questions asked" student discount. I was curiously eyeing a squirrel bristled watercolor brush, and the owner Jerry let me try it out and demonstrated its utility. Wasn't sure what kind of store this was. It was recommended to me for the kinds of supplies I needed. They had everything I wanted and then some. Prices were decent too. Spent way too much but I'm satisfied with all the goodies I bought. Graphaids is an amazing art store with many great supplies for many different artists. This place beats Arron brothers, Michaels, make them look like a joke. This place is dedicated to have anything you need for you art projects and they as well give students discounts on there purchases, which is a big plus for me since I'm a student. Something that also makes this place amazing is there staff, they have amazing staff, they are friendly, if you need help with something, they will take the time to find what your looking for. Although I do miss their old, larger store, I find that as a professional artist, perpetual art student, and art teacher, not only do they have a great selection of quality art supplies, but they employ an extremely knowledgeable staff in every department. (Unlike a popular national chain, which shall go unnamed.) I do admit to purchasing some supplies online, especially when I need large quantities of things, but there is no replacement for the personal service they provide at Graphaids. And if they don't carry something, they will have a perfect substitute or order it for you. You know you are in the right place when you can lean against the counter and discuss pluses and minuses of brushes or the differing properties of paper. I always prefer to support brick and mortar stores, not only for the service but also in principle, and it is wonderful to have such a quality art store practically in my back yard. read more

I bought a fountain pen from Graphaids. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful in that transaction. Later, the pen stopped working due to a manufacturer's defect-- not anything the store did wrong. I tried to resolve the issue through the manufacturer and was disappointed by their response. I asked the store to help, even though I did not feel it was their obligation to do so. They said they would look into it. A few days later, I get a call saying they got me a new pen. I told the man who I believe was the owner that I didn't expect them to do so much for me so quickly. He said it's just what they do for their customers. That kind of really, really great customer service is increasingly rare these days, and it will definitely keep me coming back to Graphaids. read more

I spoke with Jerry the owner of Graphaids today regarding why their ADVERTISED prices for EVERYTHING, is 20-50% less than their actual prices. After he saw that I was not swayed by his belligerence, F-bombs, etc., he said he'd lower his prices by "giving me a great deal". He also claimed he had no knowledge of what the online Graphaids prices (at a store with the same name and same address) were. This place is a lousy place to buy art supplies. Do not support it. They bait and switch, and the owner lies. And if you doubt this, simply go online, look at their prices, and then go in his store. Absurb. Its like the bait and switch 60's all over again. read more
