I love how well organized this store is. You can get through every aisle with ease and not have any issue checking for items you may want. Their selection is great, too. You'll find almost everything you see online in stock here. The staff is super helpful and friendly which makes frequenting this location a pleasant experience. This holiday season i purchased some DIY ornaments from Michaels, i've always seen the wood christmas tree ornaments that you can paint/decor yourself, and finally bought a couple! Not only did she know her products (custom framing, but she listened to what we needed, answered our questions, and went above and beyond to make our visit wonderful. My mother has the beginnings of dementia and Shamika was so sweet to her, making her laugh when we told her my mom had had a hard day. This particular Michael's has never impressed me. As far as the selection goes it's pretty good!! Michaels is a great craft store I often recommend. The staff here, however, are lacking. Literally. I've gone to this store for over three years and though there seems to be a rotating cast of people there never seems to be more than two associates ever. Lines are often long and handled poorly as they only ever have 2 out of 6 or 7 total registers working. They are particularly inept when it comes to online ordering. They claim they do curbside but I've been denied several times. If you go in store for pickup expect up to a 25 minute wait as the associates working the counter ignore you. I've done this several times as well and I've never waited less than ten minutes, as apparently their "message" button doesn't work, or they simply don't care to answer it. TLDR: 5 stars as a craft store, love me a good michaels 1 star for the way the store is managed. Before as well as during the pandemic. Expect a long wait in long lines and standing in the store idly for online pickup. read more

I've come here to Michael's a few times to purchase large frames for some paintings I bought. I've also purchased some craft supplies here that I was unable to find anywhere else. This past weekend while killing some time waiting for a watch to be repaired at another nearby store, I came here just to have a look around and found that they had 20 ounce jar candles on sale for only $3.99! These were quality ones, too; They burned evenly, smelled great and seem to last long. Regarding Dadeland Station where this Michael's is located, I like this shopping plaza for the variety of stores, the fact that you can comparison shop between a few of them, and of course, the attached 4 or 5 storey garage is definitely a bonus. Regardless of where you park you're never far from the entrance to the stores, the parking and the walkways to the stores are covered in case of rain, and there are plenty of elevators and escalators to move between the different levels. read more

After having a horrible experience at the Michael's on Flagler, I came here in search of a semi calm shopping experience during the holiday season. I arrived between 9:30-10:00 on a Saturday morning so I'm sure that had something to do with the successful visit. I found most of the aisles to be in order and well stocked. They were running a doorbuster special with 70% off Christmas garlands and other accessories so I was able to get what I needed for only $15. I didn't try the buy online and pickup in store option like I did last time. Even though this is a different store I didn't have any faith that they would fulfill my order correctly. At this hour there was also plenty of parking in the attached garage. Michaels definitely owed me one after my last awful experience! read more

This Michael's is set up in a way that's very confusing. You walk in and immediately hit tall shelves that make the place unwelcoming. Once inside and having figured out the maze I quickly realized they don't have much of a selection. For a last minute need you probably can find something but essentially I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this Michael's. The one-stop-shop for everything craft related. I also find really cool buys for my son sometimes. Recently I went and found a bunch of robot themed pencils, erasers, stickers, puzzles, notebooks!! And they were at 60% off. Well after going crazy with the sale, I came to my senses and had to return a couple of the items. Their customer service was smooth and the cashier was really nice! I don't shop at Michael's regularly but whenever I'm on my way to Target or Best Buy and spot a sale, I go take a look! I placed an online order at the Michael's in Dadeland and the next thing I knew I got an email saying my order was picked up and I never sent anyone to pick it up. They gave my order to someone else and didn't even bother to verify the person picking it up! How do you give someone's order without verifying who's it for?! I once described the Miami passport office as one of the stops in Dante's Inferno. Well, this Michael's definitely qualifies as another fiery layover on the journey into hell. How this corporation operates is beyond me. I can't even comprehend how they attempt inventory in this horrifically managed store. Items of all kinds are strewn in aisles, on random shelves, in baskets mixed together with other useless crap. The lines are my worst nightmare. Management (presumably) stands around instead of manning a register when dozens of people are waiting. And I mean DOZENS. In the middle of the day. On a weekday. I've walked out many a time instead of purchasing, but sadly, have been forced to wait occasionally when I desperately needed specialty items. I suspect this store loses tons of money, what with walkouts, their inventory disaster, and their overpriced merchandise. Like, really overpriced. Additionally, the store is difficult to navigate and offers no intuitive layout. It's like a kindergartner set up and manages this hellhole. I hate this place. I only enter when I absolutely have to, and from now on, I'm totally going out of my way to hit up a more organized, clean and pleasant arts & craft store up in Broward. Screw this shit. Besides a lot of the items not being marked with prices nor there being signs stating how much the item costs. My major complaint is the fact that I when I finally found the things I wanted to buy there were 27 people in line ahead of me and only 4 cashiers open. I waited for five minutes and only 2 people moved in the line. People have coupons, price checks, and other unforeseen issues and I understand this (even though most of the price checks could probably be solved by clearly marking ALL of the items instead of it being a surprise to the customer at the checkout counter). My time to shop and do the things I want is very valuable to me and I refuse to waste my time standing in line when they could clearly have more cashiers on a busy day such as Sunday. Often I think that this store seems rather disorganized, understaffed, and understocked. A lot of the time I have to hunt just to find a sales associate to help me find what I'm looking for (and often they don't even know). As we all know, Michael's tends to be quite overpriced, but if you're in a hurry and need a few art/craft/baking supplies quickly it will do the trick. This is truly my favorite Michaels. While they have been doing some remodeling lately and they have moved my sections around and I am still getting acquainted, the employees are so pleasant, nice, attentive, always there to help, answer questions, and grab a cart and/or basket if it looks like i am doing a circus act with my supplies. LOL...While the machines don't always show the right sale prices- so be careful and be sure to advise the register clerk, and they will adjust the price-I am happy to say that I am an avid Michaels shopper and will be returning, usually weekly for scrapbooking and/or baking supplies! This review is for renting out the craft room. We celebrated my daughters 8th birthday here with some of her friends and it was such a breeze! We were able to do two crafts within the 2 hour time slot we were given, eat pizza, listen to music and of course sing happy birthday and eat cupcakes! My daughter had so much fun! It's really hard to review this store. Employees are... umm... nice. I am not one to really understand arts and crafts stores. Lines are slow. Custom framing is expensive. There are coupons in the mail that knock of big percentages off your purchases, so wait for those. I've only come here for frames and so far, they haven't really disappointed too much. Sure, I was looking for an "odd" size, but it wasn't too odd in my opinion (10in x 10in). They also always seem to be low stocked or out of stock. Bottom Line: Bring your patience. read more

Michaels Framing Dept: By far the worst customer service that I've ever received. I walked into the store around 5:30 and at 6 they were able to help me. I understood that this was a busy weekend so I gave the staff some slack. I asked for 2 white mats to complement my already purchased prints and frames. At 6, the staff member had me pay for the mats, and told me to come back in 20 mins to pick up the finished product. I came back to the desk at 6:20, knowing that it may take a few more minutes that intended. No one was working the desk. At 6:40 I had to walk to the back room, track down the staff member and ask when the mats would be ready. I was told two more minutes. I waited another 25 mins in front of the empty desk, and finally at 7:05, the staff member ran out of the back room, threw the mats and my prints into a folder, and ran away. She left me to gather everything that she had previously undone, offered me no help or apology for the wait, and suddenly vanished. I had to ask 2 other team members if I was all set to leave. Will not ever be going back here for framing. The department had me wait an hour and 5 mins, when I was told it would take 20. The work itself and the customer service is not worth the time or cost. read more

I normally find this store crowded, messy and with tired staff but the service I received yesterady was AMAZING!! No less than 3 times was I asked in the aisles if I needed help. I also received super speedy, polite checkout service and then a nice clerk helped me with all my bags out to my car. Say WHAT?! Awesome (albeit unexpected) service. Keep up the good work 'till Christmas, y'all. The only reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is because the aisles are impossibly too narrow for strollers. Normally, I wouldn't even mention that but, well...you're Michael's and you deal with a ton of Moms. You should make the layout and maneuverability better for the stroller toting crowd. read more

Three is a solid number of stars for this location. It is hard to get in and out during any kind of "busy" in a reasonable amount of time, but during slow hours the employees are kind and relatively helpful for retail staff. They do switch around the store layout seasonally which is occasionally confusing, and the store is often messy. It was neat and clean on my last visit. read more

As a Michael's super fan i am disappointed I cant give this crafty store 5 stars..i missed the days of not working and my boredom driving me here to inspire a cool, hand made project. I digress- i had the lovely task of buying Halloween decorations for my office and a co worker showed my one of their weekly ads. It was totally misleading, and i don't mean your average skeem to get you in the store, this was pretty ballsy IMO. It was a bit disorganized but i did go a few weeks before Halloween so i could let that pass, Halloween stuff was scattered everywhere instead of dedicating one part of the store to the holiday which was a bit confusing. Recently they added the airport/bank maze style lines for the register which i cannot stand. Not enough cashiers and when its finally my turn, i realize that i was tricked by the ad and none of the sales apply to any of my decorations. (my decorations said Halloween novelties not halloween decorative! i just needed some spiders!) So annoying! and of course only after i pay do i get discounts/coupons for the next purchase i make in the next 7-10 days. Michaels needs to take a few notes from CVS. Otherwise save some trees and don't bother printing pointless coupons! read more

this store is very conveniently located in dadeland station where you can get a lot of errands done in one stop. the parking is kind of nightmare, i usually try to park on the 2 or 4 floors where there is not direct access to stores but a short elevator ride is ok with me if it means finding instant parking. so back to michaels. its usually pretty organized and well stocked, although now with the holiday madness its crazy in there!! they do have plenty of sales and everything from paint to frames, flowers to ribbons, gift wrap to bakeware. i recently went in for some vases and vase filler (marbles and crystals) i was in and out super fast and got really lucky the long lines i saw when i entered had diminished and i was able to check right out. one thing to note was that the cashier made me return my basket on the other side of the store while she rang me up. i thought that was a little inappropriate, shouldnt that be her job or someone elses? read more
