I drove from Boynton Beech to check out Sheep Thrills while I was visiting from MI (we come down a few times a year to escape the cold). I was greeted quickly by one employee who walked away. However, another woman with short hair came up and asked if I had been in before. When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. However, I could see myself coming back next time I am in FL to browse (eh, buy) again! read more

Sheep Thrills - vintage worsted weight yarn - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Lauderhill, Florida

first of all, this is a lovely yarn shop. these days, it's so difficult to find a brick and mortar shop with such quality yarn. I went in on a Sunday. there were many knitters enjoying the company of other knitters. I had a few questions, but was told that they were too busy. Finally someone came to take my money. i was surprised, because most often knitters, stitchers etc are very welcoming and friendly. probably won't go back. read more

Love this store. I'm addicted. Incredible selection of yarn. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

My mom and I walked in the door and we were HIT by skeins of beautiful colors and textures, items so uniquely displayed and greetings from kind women some customers! We will return. I'd be amazed if you can't find what you're looking for in that beautiful shop. My mom and I got a Sheep Thrill and we will be going back for more! Thank you Susan, for finding the pattern and taking time with us! read more

Not customer friendly. The majority of my interactions with them were answers that included rushed, sarcastic, and/or rude remarks.

Fantastic selection of yarns of every type and a treasure trove of needles. Classes are offered frequently and the teachers are helpful and personable. I've learned how to weave, spin and crochet here over the years. read more

I have been shopping and taking classes here for many years, actually started going here when the shop was very small. They have such a great selection of everything! The owners and staff are all friendly and offer assistance and ideas. Thank you for all you do! Love my LYS! read more

What a wonderful shop! Everyone is super friendly, and they bend over backwards to help you. They are knowledgeable and don't try to push you. I've taken a couple lessons from Susie and she is fantastic. She is patient and friendly and obviously very talented I will keep coming back. read more

Great shop! Very large variety of yarns and needles and instruction/classes are available!

I want to update a previous mixed-feeling review. The shop contacted me and listened to my concerns about being an inexperienced knitter who didn't feel welcomed. I am really happy to know that they take feedback seriously and have taken steps for newbies to feel comfortable when coming by. This is a real commitment to customer service and I appreciate it! So if you are a knitter or just love wool, stop in.they have great selection and have fun while taking what they do seriously. read more

A Californian (Sonoma) and a New Yorker walked into the store, took one look and said "We're in knitter's heaven!" knowledgeable staff. a dozen friendly knitter s sitting at tables chatting and working and laughing and offering great advice and walls and walls of knitter's gold. Well worth a visit wherever you're from! read more

I like going to new yarn stores wherever I travel. This one wasn't terribly far from where I'm staying. The place was bustling when I walked in with a group of people knitting around a table. They have a ton of yarn here! Good selections of wider known brands like Madelinetosh, Malabrigo, and Hedgehog. As well as smaller dyers. They actually had the brand that I was looking for, for an upcoming test knit. I took off stars because no one acknowledged me when I walked in and I stood at the counter for 5-10 minutes waiting for someone to process my purchase. The man that worked there was nice and greeted me when I was roaming along the back walls but otherwise that was it. So while they have great yarn, the customer service will probably keep me from going again. read more

Wonderful yarn store. I have never seen such an large amount of beautiful yarn. Owner, employees or just other knitters/ weavers are always so helpful and friendly. I have learned so much since going to this establishment. Thank you Patti and Jim. read more

This yarn shop is a local shop for me. However due to their extreme rude behavior I would rather shop online and pay for shipping them purchase anything from them. Without going into a long story they were soooo rude I will never go there in the future. My favorite shop is down in Fort Lauderdale and I travel there several times a week to find a warm and amazing experience. One star is even too much to give the review would not post with zero stars. read more

When I first visited, this store on 7/30/20, I felt I was in heaven. So much yarn, so many colors! I purchased about $125 worth of yarn to complete an Afghan. The staff was very helpful. Fast forward three months...I finally finished an extremely complicated afghan and found I had four skeins of yarn left over. So today I drove the half hour to return the unused yarn. I was told that I waited too long! In a pandemic? Really? Shame on you. They would not budge. So instead of issuing a credit for $24, they lost the $100 sale I was going to make today. They have also lost future sales and created an unhappy customer. I know things are tough for small businesses but your decision ways very shortsighted. read more

I agree with some of the reviews of not being welcomed in the store. I was there the other day and not one employee even acknowledged me. I felt very intimidated in the store and as I am a beginner/intermediate knitter did not feel comfortable at all. I have been there many times and this happens all the time. I do purchase yarn there because they do have a very extensive inventory. I just wish those of us who are not very experienced knitters would be made to feel more welcome---3 stars for inventory--1 star for customer service read more

I don't know much about yarn stores. I was sent here to pick up needles for my aunt. I had no idea where to begin when I arrived. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and patient with me. She helped find the needles I was looking for. They also have a ton of yarn. All my friends who sew and knit love this place. read more

An absolutely wonderful yarn store! I was visiting from CT and wanted to visit a local yarn store here. The store front is deceptive...it's actually a very large store with a lot of selection. Everyone in the store was very friendly and helpful! They have the usual yarns, weaving supplies, knitting and crocheting supplies, and kits you can buy. A great LYS! read more

When my local knitting store went out of business, I started looking for a new place to feel at home. My first trip there was 2 weeks ago and what a wonderful surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful. I appreciated this because being new, I didn't know the layout yet. The owner, Patti, introduced herself and I must say that even though they were short-staffed that day, I didn't feel neglected. Can't wait to go back .... if it would only stop raining. Believe me, I drive down from Boynton Beach & I wouldn't be doing that if they weren't a first-class place. I hope to get back there Wednesday or Next Saturday...weather permitting. Sheep Thrills is truly a five star outfit. The selection of yarn runs the gamut from fingerling to extra bulky and there is something for every budget. Not only do they serve creative types who knit and crochet but they also have looms and classes for weaving. But the factor that makes them a real 5 outfit is the friendliness of the staff and fellow knitters. I'm new to knitting and they have shared their wisdom and skills with me with a smile. It's a great community. read more

I live in CA & called your store last week to inquire about Juniper Moon Findley. Patti helped me choose the perfect white for my niece's wedding shawl. The yarn arrived yesterday in a beautiful hot pink envelope. Inside was my gorgeous yarn in a pretty bag with a handwritten message on the tag. I felt like I'd received a lovely gift - even though I'd bought it for myself. Thank you!! read more
