I drove from Boynton Beech to check out Sheep Thrills while I was visiting from MI (we come down a few times a year to escape the cold). I was greeted quickly by one employee who walked away. However, another woman with short hair came up and asked if I had been in before. When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. However, I could see myself coming back next time I am in FL to browse (eh, buy) again! read more

first of all, this is a lovely yarn shop. these days, it's so difficult to find a brick and mortar shop with such quality yarn. I went in on a Sunday. there were many knitters enjoying the company of other knitters. I had a few questions, but was told that they were too busy. Finally someone came to take my money. i was surprised, because most often knitters, stitchers etc are very welcoming and friendly. probably won't go back. read more

Fantastic selection of yarns of every type and a treasure trove of needles. Classes are offered frequently and the teachers are helpful and personable. I've learned how to weave, spin and crochet here over the years. read more

I like going to new yarn stores wherever I travel. This one wasn't terribly far from where I'm staying. The place was bustling when I walked in with a group of people knitting around a table. They have a ton of yarn here! Good selections of wider known brands like Madelinetosh, Malabrigo, and Hedgehog. As well as smaller dyers. They actually had the brand that I was looking for, for an upcoming test knit. I took off stars because no one acknowledged me when I walked in and I stood at the counter for 5-10 minutes waiting for someone to process my purchase. The man that worked there was nice and greeted me when I was roaming along the back walls but otherwise that was it. So while they have great yarn, the customer service will probably keep me from going again. read more

This yarn shop is a local shop for me. However due to their extreme rude behavior I would rather shop online and pay for shipping them purchase anything from them. Without going into a long story they were soooo rude I will never go there in the future. My favorite shop is down in Fort Lauderdale and I travel there several times a week to find a warm and amazing experience. When I first visited, this store on 7/30/20, I felt I was in heaven. So much yarn, so many colors! I purchased about $125 worth of yarn to complete an Afghan. The staff was very helpful. Fast forward three months...I finally finished an extremely complicated afghan and found I had four skeins of yarn left over. So today I drove the half hour to return the unused yarn. I was told that I waited too long! In a pandemic? Really? Shame on you. They would not budge. So instead of issuing a credit for $24, they lost the $100 sale I was going to make today. They have also lost future sales and created an unhappy customer. I know things are tough for small businesses but your decision ways very shortsighted. read more

I agree with some of the reviews of not being welcomed in the store. I was there the other day and not one employee even acknowledged me. I felt very intimidated in the store and as I am a beginner/intermediate knitter did not feel comfortable at all. I have been there many times and this happens all the time. I do purchase yarn there because they do have a very extensive inventory. I just wish those of us who are not very experienced knitters would be made to feel more welcome---3 stars for inventory--1 star for customer service read more

I don't know much about yarn stores. I was sent here to pick up needles for my aunt. I had no idea where to begin when I arrived. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and patient with me. The best, largest yarn store in SFLA. The assortment of yarns, accessories books, bags etc is to infinity and beyond. The staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to lend a hand. The owners are friendly and when the shop is open they are there. When my local knitting store went out of business, I started looking for a new place to feel at home. My first trip there was 2 weeks ago and what a wonderful surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful. I appreciated this because being new, I didn't know the layout yet. The owner, Patti, introduced herself and I must say that even though they were short-staffed that day, I didn't feel neglected. Can't wait to go back .... if it would only stop raining. Sheep Thrills is truly a five star outfit. The selection of yarn runs the gamut from fingerling to extra bulky and there is something for every budget. Not only do they serve creative types who knit and crochet but they also have looms and classes for weaving. This Store is the largest Yarn store that I have visited and I go to the yarn stores wherever I travel. All top brands and local yarns with fresh project ideas abound throughout the store. The owner and staff are extremely nice and very helpful with ideas and great color suggestions. If you want a great place with amazing yarns and super nice people, Sheep Thrills is the place to go!!! And don't forget to check out the sale room for some great deals. Need Needles of ANY type, they have them, even the newest to be offered.
