We were heading south from other shopping and decided to stop here after visiting another nearby…read morethrift store that we'd been to before. This was our first time here. There was a gal vacuuming at the time we came by. The vacuum was heating up and smoking a bit, so she was concerned. There were also some students or volunteers or young new employees -- I couldn't tell which -- being given a tour of the store as we were there. Both were a bit distracting. They have some inventory that will appeal depending on what you're looking for... they don't have much furniture wise. There's a bit of a bunch of different things --linens, housewares, silverware, electronics, books, clothing etc., etc. Most things are organized together by category. Price wise, it's a mix of decent prices and high prices. They have some of the more expensive items near the counter. We didn't love something enough to buy anything here. But we are still glad we came to check them out.

At first their inventory was made up of there own items but now everything they sell is donated. I love their mission which is to help animals. The Shed Thrift is a nonprofit that donates its proceeds to various veterinary hospitals in the area to support people on social security or limited income who need life-saving surgeries for their pets. I collect vintage pieces and Shed Thrift had some items like a chandelier and a set of glasses. They also had furniture, appliances, bikes, guitars, household goods, collectibles, books, movie, CD's, clothing, accessories, and more. With the influence of DIY shows showcasing recycling and re-purposing, thrifting is more popular than ever. Thrift stores help people save money and keep items out of the landfill. Shed Thrift has some unique items like a jukebox that you didn't typically see in the local area thrift stores. With their mission to help vulnerable pets, this store is an assist to Coral Springs.

This is the most amazing store. It is located in a non descript plaza off of University and Sample…read moreRd. I attended the church in this plaza once but somehow missed this fantastic find. I was on my way to the new Nordic Bake Shop, another must visit when I spotted their sign that said vintage, one of my loves. Walking into the store is like stepping into a museum except you can buy anything. Amazing treasures await around every corner. They carry furniture, art, sculpture, clothes, and accessories. The jewelry made me salivate. After talking with the owner Karen for awhile I was persuaded to try some silver rings on and of course I ended up with two of them. I have been wearing the heart shaped one every day since my visit. I asked Karen what the oldest piece in the store was and she was a wooden cabinet from France dated 1730 that comes with a ghost! The owner Karen is a sweetheart. I had the best chat with her. She will buy your old jewelry and gold. The jewelry collection here has so many interesting pieces, I really had to hold myself back. When you are looking for that special something that no one else has, pay them a visit.

This is a true antique shop with lots of vintage jewelry, furs, clothes, and accessories, plus…read moredecor items. You would not expect it to be here. The seedy plaza is almost entirely empty and looks quite run down with lots of open places for rent. And it's no where near other similar stores or shops, either. Inside is like coming into a hidden treasure trove. Lots and lots of very interesting items to look at of all sorts. Of course, with today's current super high gold prices, the high end jewelry is (high) priced accordingly. There's a lot of Asian pieces of jade, snuff bottles, and the like. Many display cases are dazzlingly full of shiny baubles and beads. Even the costume jewelry is ogle worthy. In the back of the store are the minks -- stoles, jackets, and full coats plus a separate rack of other types of fur outerwear. You may recognize your mom's or grandmother's or great aunt's stuff here. Then there are the fancy dresses -- with beads or spangles or rhinestones, etc. And there's accessories as well... I'm sure a store like this would be packed with customers on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale or say Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. Of course, there, the rent would be astronomically higher. This is the kind of place great for browsing and if your pocketbook will allow, a great place to treat yourself to a special birthday or anniversary gift.

Finally made it into the store and loved it! Upping a star. They have an area with dollar items…read moreeven. Fun to dig through. And a large selection of interesting costume Jewelry. Many many items for $2! We found two pieces that called our name. On the wall are more jewelry items -- bracelets and necklaces. All next to a case of "real" (more expensive items). They also had some interesting furniture pieces and decorative items. They are busy! The people there are quite nice and they obviously have many repeat visitors... and they get new items often. On Saturday (I think I heard that right 7/4) they are having a big sale except on new items and mattresses. But even if you miss the sale, the prices are decent. Well worth a visit... -------/////////------////-----/--- We tried to find this thrift store about 10 days ago. After following the gps, we wound up by a grassy plot and some (relatively) new apartments. We figured that maybe they had moved or been replaced since we'd put this store on our "to visit" list. Later, we realized that perhaps the address or the pin for the address had been placed wrong. Today, we followed our hunch and went into the shopping center where the old Penn Dutch market used to be. Aha! We found the store north of the old market and south of Donna's Caribbean restaurant. Unfortunately, they've changed their hours and are now closed on Sundays and Mondays. ( I've sent a picture of the hours to Yelp to correct). We did peek into the front of the store and their windows. Looks like a place we'd like to come back to....

They sell used and new furniture and an assortment of other items including $2 jewelry and housewares. The jewelry didn't call to me but in the back I found a few items that took me back to my childhood. The had a Light Brite (a more modern version than the one I owned) and a Simon. I was interested in them but they were marked more than what I wanted to pay. The lite brite was $14 and the Simon was $10. After some back and forth haggling with Shelia I was able to take both for $8. They are now delighting a new generation of kids at summer camp. I didn't know if they worked when I purchased them but I am happy to report that they are both functioning. Another item I was interested in was a puzzle but it was marked $10. I recently picked up puzzles for the kids for $2 at other thrift stores so I passed. I think their prices are high but if there is something you want, present your offer. They seem willing to work with you.
