We were replacing a number of chandeliers after a major renovation and also needed a fan. We went to several stores, but needed to bring in gold accenting and upscale look without being modern. We bought 3 chandeliers and one fan. Beautiful Things Lighting had the most aesthetically pleasing and quality items without 'breaking the bank' or being too modern. Kathy Caldwell, our liaison at the store, was wonderful. As we discussed various items, she was able to quickly hone in on what we were looking for. Such a great experience! We had been looking elsewhere for a light fixture for some time, but never found the right one. We stopped in here and met Kathy and she knew her stuff - she walked us around and got to know what we did and didn't like, and helped also show us different options online that she thought we may like or would work well. Not only was she well versed on styles, but she had great knowledge on helping guide us on the ideal size too. We ended up choosing a chandelier that they had on display, but in a larger size, which was perfect because we really had a good feel of the look of it. Truly we found several with her that we could've been really happy with, and just had to decide which one we liked best. She even gave us contacts they recommend to help hang it, which was helpful as our normal guy was booked for a few weeks. Definitely worth the trip!! read more

I needed a replacement socket for a three-way lamp. I tried Home Depot, Lowes and even Walmart. Each purchase turned out to be the wrong size. Lights! Lights! And more lights! This place had a great assortment of lights and more. We stopped in as we were close by checking out the patio place in the same plaza and walked out with an order for an entry way light fixture. I truly believe they have a great variety for every shopper in mind. We had to wait quite a while for our fixture to come in and we were happy to do as it was significantly marked down. The customer service was spectacular, even though the store was quite busy at the time of our impromptu visit. I will be visiting this store again for all my light fixture needs. "Shine bright like a diamond," song definitely applies to this lighting store. I really enjoyed my visit here. Sam and I went in there to check out some ceiling fans in there. Everything was so nice. They had chandeliers/ ceiling lights ranging from 800-10000 dollars. The crystal quality was spectacular on some of the chandeliers. Everywhere I looked I said: ooh ahh, nice. The sales associate was not pushy and gave us time to look around the entire store. The ceiling fan which I really liked had written on it Back Order until July 15. When we inquired about it, the sales associate said he is really not sure if that's the correct date. I would really suggest to them, not to put dates on Back Orders. If they are not sure they should take those items off the sales floor and put them up when they are available. They also have side tables, dresser chests, small furnishings etc. It is not only a light store. They have a website, which I checked out as well afterwards. I personally liked looking at the ceiling fans in person rather than the website. You can however order from the website as well. I will check this store out again in a month or so to check if they have any new inventory.~ read more

I was shopping for eight lights for a renovation in our home. I already have a favorite lighting store that gives me good service and good prices. But like many I browse on the Internet and make trips to several different lighting stores before I finally decide on what I want then I go back to my favorite lighting store and order them. My favorite lighting store was not beautiful things lighting I only went there to browse. My husband said on the way in "I don't want any sales person I want to just look around freely" I agreed with him so when a older gentleman approached me I was polite but I told him we just wanted to browse. But then a few minutes later a nice woman named Amanda approached us and I told her we're just browsing but we're doing a small renovation and briefly told her what we needed. We started chatting and I soon forgot that I wanted to just browse. She was just so pleasant and so incredibly knowledgeable ,really people there is a lot more to lighting than the average person realizes. We made some choices and she wrote up a proposal so that we could run it by our renovator and think about it. When I went home I checked the prices and in most cases they were below or identical to the Internet prices for the same lights. We went back the next day and made a few changes but still didn't place the order as we really wanted to Browse the Internet some more and make sure we were making the best choices, also one of our favorite light choices was on back order and Amanda promised to call the manufacturer the following day to see the status as it was the weekend and they weren't open at that time. I'm so used to people telling me they're going to do things and then not do it or take their sweet time doing it but first thing Monday morning Amanda called with the information about the back order situation. We did end up going in a few days later and placing the complete order for all eight lights. This store has a good selection and as anybody knows the selection in anyone given Lighting store is just one small percent of what's out there so it takes and knowledgeable person familiar with the different manufacturers to think of a light that fits your situation if it's not on display. Amanda was so patient with us in addition to her wealth of knowledge. I think she said she's primarily on the sales floor on the weekend and during the week she is working in the back room so if you don't see her or if they say she's not there ask if she's in the back I'm sure there are other helpful people there but I highly recommend Amanda. read more

In search of ceiling fans and lighting our trip to Home Depot and lowes drove us to a unique kind of business which rarely exists in today's corporate run world of retail. This furniture accessory retail shop was full of unique styles of everything which I would love to have in my home. They had top quality stuff but being a smaller store and maybe under staffed the service was not equal to the products they sold. Obviously with that said the prices are at the high end as their stuff compared to competitors is definitely better. Me and my husband were searching for lighting for every room of our home, we walk into Beautiful Things Lighting and not one person says a word to us. But another couple, older than us, walk in right after and they run to go help them. Seems like just cause we are a younger (late 20's) couple, they didn't think we could afford anything. We walked around for 15-20 minutes and still not one person came to help us. I had mixed feelings about going here. Only because I thought it was so overpriced. Don't get me wrong you can go here and drop $1500 on lightning. But I went anyway. Pleasantly the staff was so helpful. The sales rep(So upset I can't remember his name ) helped me pick out the perfect lighting for my kitchen. I thought I had to take it back because I really needed a flush mount. Another sales rep() helped me in the store and followed me and made it work right there in the parking lot. Can't put a price on that kind of service. Actually I did about $40 more than I saw it on Mayfair but I would have had to return it. Visiting is so worth it. Just a great experience. Go to Beautiful Things to get what the online experience simply cannot provide: a human being who can guide you toward the best lighting for your needs and then back it up with outstanding service. We bought a chandelier with a price match of a quote from an online lighting company. It was shipped to the store and when we opened it, it was not the color on the manufacturer's website. The store manager said that that was unacceptable and found me an even nicer chandelier from a different brand. It came in a week later and it is perfect! Awful follow through, awful communication, awful customer service. Never delivered merchandise. Stay away! Came in on a weekend and special ordered a Minka fan and put 1/2 down to be fair. Was told that it would take about 1.5 weeks to arrive. The bill of sale stated approx. two weeks. After 2.5 weeks with no word from them, I emailed requesting a delivery estimate and explanation of what was holding things up. No explanation given and response was slow stating it would take 3 or 4 more days and that they would call. One more week went by and no word and no fan. I went over to obtain a refund and they wasted a half hour of my time "looking" for the fan and even began suggesting I order something else. I want to help local businesses but not this place ever again. read more
