This is a great consignment furniture store along Dixie Hwy in Oakland Park, Opened in 2015 and named after owner Tim Emerson's dog, Jasper Kane specializes in mid-century modern and vintage furnishings and decor. There are seven rooms to explore including a boutique room room that has women's clothing, evening dresses, bridal gowns, purses, hats, and shoes. Everything in the store is attractively arranged and clearly priced. A starburst mirror caught my eye at only $30. As a fan of mid century modern I had fun exploring the store but I'm still holding out for an atomic clock. Inventory changes often so I'll be checking back from time to time. read more

This review is for a random visit, I was really in the market for a cute sewing table chair set for my sewing machine and related stuff. 4 stars for having stuff that actually fit into my budget and for great customer service. Waiting for my child to finish his lesson, I drove over to Dixie hwy, I remembered there were some consignment and thrift shops over there. I was like "meh" until I saw Jasper Kane, so curious I stopped. Now about 5 or so years before, hubby n I had stopped in that 2-3 block area between Oakland closer to Prospect and all those stores were a bunch of overpriced junk shops, where you haggled yourself to death for crap. I hadn't been pressed to return. But Jasper Kane is a different ballgame. Still partly consignment, but waaaay more clean, organized and user friendly. It's one of those places you might see HGTV celebrities picking out items for a redecorating segment of their show. ;-) Anyway, a nice consignment painting hit my senses and I believe I got an OK deal when they called and asked the painting's owner. The owner and sister were quite busy too, but fun to work with, which they don't know me from Adam, which I was glad. I love patronizing great small businesses as a plain old regular person! Lol. Lots of great decorating ideas here, I inadvertently walked out with one. The prices were OK, some higher end rare pieces could give you sticker shock, but plenty in all budgets. Don't expect dirt cheap thrift store pricing. You can tell that they cater to professional stylists and interior decorators, but don't hesitate to ask because there may be some wiggle room. I could spend a couple hours looking at stuff in this place. There are a lot more rooms than I expected - I wish that I remembered to take pictures of the interior but I was busy browsing. The furniture ranges from credenzas, consoles, shelving, screens, chairs, and benches, to dining tables. They also had framed artwork (originals), decor, and clothing. The first time we came, there were Girl Scout cookies and the second time, Danish butter cookies. I thought it was a nice touch. Also, cool playlist - I soundhounded a song while we were there. When it comes to furniture, I confess to being a big time fan of original Mid-Century Modern which is what brought me to Jasper Kane. Though I had expected the place, as are most such places to be smallish, almost hole in the wall type, Jasper Kane is really big, as in what I would guess being over 10,000 square feet. Everything is well displayed and free of the usual cluttered mess appearance common to most such places. Though they advertise as specializing in "vintage," that term merely refers to date which would also cover mid-century and indeed I did find several pieces. While there I noted that all of their items were in rather good original condition with none being second hand junk. And if somewhat worn, items that could all be easily restored to original. Also while there, I had the opportunity to speak with two of their staff members, both of whom were friendly, polite and above all knowledgeable. Overall in comparison to other such vintage stores in our area, Jasper Kane is one of the better for selection, quality and price. read more

Jasper Kane is just full of furnishings that you wish your parents (or maybe grandparents) hadn't disposed of, so you could have it for free instead of paying vintage prices. Compared to other "vintage" and consignment stores in the vicinity, Jasper Kane stands out for being meticulous in curating its offerings. Others are more junk shop oriented, and you have to pick through piles and step over items. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable...so you probably won't procure an Antique Roadshows find of the century for a few dollars; however, Jasper Kane is a fun shop to browse whether you are looking for something specific, or just antiquing. If lucky you'll find a mid-century piece that you've just got to have, as long as the price is right. And usually it is. I had mentioned to a friend that he needed a chair inside his front door for guests to sit and put their shoes off and on (common manners in most of our Asian friends' homes). I spied a cute vintage telephone conversation bench that even has a place to put the old dial-up phone and perfect for iPhones. $69. If he didn't buy it, I would have. Tip: Go outside the back door. There are outdoor items and enough stuff to build a MadMax movie set. read more

I have known Tim for a long time from his years in the service From here in Fort Lauderdale to up north. Has he started as a picker selling to numerous dealers he finally evolved as most due to opening a store. I must say, you have done a great job from the standpoint of set up merchandising and marketing. I know that it's harder to get good merchandise but overall your merchandise is a better quality than most of the stores in South Florida. I think that you have a good future in this business and will learn something new every day as we all are not experts in the field as I am one who makes my living of other dealers mistakes and there's a lot of them. We usually shop here, and are regular customers. They have unique stuff and we like to support small local business. We purchased a dinning table 6 chairs and a recliner. We changed our mind about the chairs because it didn't work. Mind you they never left the store. They charged us $160.00 restocking fee for changing our minds. They told us after we purchased and paid for the furniture. Obviously it didn't matter to them that we were regulars. So caution. When you go into this store, make sure you really love something before you buy it because they charge a 20% restocking fee if you change your mind. read more

If I'm in Ft. Lauderdale for more than three days, you can be sure I will have made a visit to Jasper Kane. Our condo is fully finished, but we always find something we "need" before we leave the store. Their price point is generally well below other mid-century shops, and their quality merchandise is ever changing. Most recently I came home with a Kosta/Boda sculptural candle holder designed by Kjell Engman in the 1970's for half of the lowest e-bay price and, of course, no shipping. If you are new to the Ft. Lauderdale area and are interested in furnishing you place with genuine mid century furniture at prices well below the higher-end store knock-offs, I suggest a trip to Jasper Kane is in order. I simply cannot help but share about this second hand vintage treasure. The owner has always been so helpful , not to mention absolutely fair with his prices . He has always gone out of his way to help me find pieces that fit my needs , and I can't tell you how much compliments I get about all his pieces that shine in my home. Jasper Kane is my favorite store to shop for vintage everything and anything! If you're looking for a gently used faux-bamboo piece or mid-century modern, this is the place to visit. The store is HUGE with a large variety of vintage furniture, art, lighting, and decor. Besides the amazing quality of what they sell, the pricing is very affordable and reasonable. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. When I can't make it into the store for my monthly Saturday "fix", I shop through their Instagram page. This is hands-down the best place to find mid century and vintage furniture and accessories in Fort Lauderdale. Also some contemporary pieces but nothing boring.Why so great? First of all it's not a schlock shop. Things are grouped into vignettes and styled and they change it up often. Tim the owner is a sweetheart with a great eye for what sells, and a sense for pricing things to sell.As a seller I have found him very fair and also as a buyer the same.Lots of vintage pieces well taken care of. No junk. Always something really unique and interesting. And affordable! Laurie and Mark are always welcoming and have a great understanding of customers needs and great follow up when things come in that a customer has been looking for. I know this because I'm that customer too! There's also the house cat Smudge who came with the shop when Tim moved in.you may be lucky enough to find hiding out somewhere. She is ancient and sweet. The collection across all of the rooms was one of the most expertly curated I've ever come across. I've spent most of my adult living as a visual stylist for stores; designing layouts, window displays and spending way too much time figuring out how to make the store "work". Jasper Kane is a great example of a store that "works". The owners have an amazing eye for beautiful furniture and accessories. Everything is displayed beautifully, with room after spectacular room of great finds. The prices are completely reasonable (I would venture that they're on the low side for the quality of mid century pieces), and they have everything, including snacks for the customers...I repeat SNACKS. The staff are well informed, super nice and will tell you when new merch comes in.
